You're wrong, Echoes has many more misable scans. I mean, seriously, how many people scanned the stupid Ing Webtrap? Which appears a total of once?

Hive Mecha's scan is quite low into the water if you're playing the American version, apparently. You need to get quite close to the edge of the platform. This was fixed for the PAL version.

Does it have to be done before/during the battle, or afterwards? If it isn't after, that's going to be hard (poisonous water).

It's during the battle, it's below the big thing where the wasps come from. It's under where the bridge would later be, I think.

I got the Hive Mecha just fine on my hard mode run; and didn't even notice I missed it the first time.

I was about to suggest the same page Fyxe gave regarding the Hive Mecha. Turns out, to scan it you practacally need to be drowning in toxic water. Which is why they fixed that in the European version, and other newer versions.

Also, Boost Ball Guardian should be illegal in my State; as it turns out, cruel and unusual punishment, as well as torture, are both outlawed.

Yes they are, and they're pretty cool. One is just hype for Dark Samus, while the other features a really intense battle in some cavern. At the beginning you can see that Samus's suit is heavily 'corrupted', and the whole time she's using some type of new beam apparently. We also see some brief glimpses of the Ice Missiles.

Stacked weapons sound fun, but there will always be a place in the heart for Prime's 4-way swtich doo-hicky. In fact, I'm playing Prime 1 right now. Just got the Gravity Suit. Forgot how insanely awesome this game is. Also, I used to find this game mind-numbingly difficult, but so far, it's been a real joy; no difficult spots this time around. Which makes me love this game even more!

Corruption's new Hunters have me really wanting to see a trailer of the first third of the game, but I'm resisting. Rundus and Ghor, and Gandrayda especially, look -so- cool. I wish we knew some more about them!

I actually got the strategy guide today.

Weapons are stacked, but it looks like there's more than one missile. You're not restricted to just one type and then the upgrade. Or at least that's what I gather.

Information about the Characters and Hunters:

Samus Aran
Little is known about the origins of the bounty hunter Samus Aran. She is believed to have been raised by the mysterious Chozo race after her family was killed during a space pirate raid. When Samus reached adulthood, the Chozo created the Varia Suit, giving her special cybernetic abilities. Soon after receiving the suit, Samus began working for the Galactic Federation, her first Mission taking her to the Metroid-infested planet of Zebes. Samus continues her service to the Federation on a freelance basis.

First Admiral Dane
Fleet Admiral Castor Dane is known for his utmost dedication to protecting the Federation from its enemies. He is stern and aggressive, and has a strong dislike for Space Pirates. Rumor has it they orphaned him at an early age, an act he still seeks to revenge.

Rundas
Rundas is capable of generating and manipulating ice. This trait is common among inhabitants of the moon Phrygis, but Rundas is one of the few who have used this ability for bounty hunting. Subject is known for getting results, but considers himself without peer. His arrogant demeanor has led him to mainly seek solo missions, and he rarely works with others.

Ghor
Ghor is a cybernetic bounty hunter, capable of merging his body into larger mechanisms. The most common of these is his armorsuit which doubles as a gunship and provides him with a formidable combat arsenal. The merges are often accompanied by a shift in personality, replacing his normally calm demeanor with an aggressive attitude. He demonstrates a high proficiency with all things mechanical and is often called upon for missions requiring computer infiltration or manipulation.

Gandrayda
Gandrayda possesses the metamorphic ability to assume the form and abilities of other creatures. This talent has led many to seek her out for stealth and reconnaissance missions, despite her powerful combat abilities. Details on the subject's origins are unknown, but her unique traits have made her a sought-after hunter for missions.

Dark Samus
Target is composed of pure Phazon energy and is highly unstable. Scans indicate that Hypermode attacks are capable of disrupting her, likely a result of Hypermode being energized by Samus's body. Dark Samus is capable of generating "echoes" of herself to aid her in battle. These units are used as increased firepower and act as distractions while she replenishes her energy; they should be destroyed immediately. She is capable of absorbing energy from Phaaze to replenish her own (dunno what Phaaze is).

Also, there appears to be online content, but only in the sense of sending someone "Friend credits" which help unlock bonus material.

And no on-system multiplayer, either, seems like.

Well, it's just general character biographies, but I know some people here are "OMG USE THE FUCKING SPOILER TAG" with ANY information.

It's not spoilerific, really. No plot is even revealed. It just tells you about the hunters and a bit of their Hunter background.

It appears that Nintendo really has opted to appeal to all audiences with this game. According to people who have managed to grab the official guide, Corruption starts off with a Normal difficulty mode as well as a Veteran (Hard) mode, so you can choose whichever you want. Then after you beat the game you unlock a Hyper (Very Hard) mode.

A Very Hard mode?

Fucking brill. That's ace; Echoes and Prime's Hard modes were never THAT hard anyway. I hope it involves a bit more than simply doubling enemy damage and enemy defense though. Zero Mission had a clever Hard mode where things like Energy Tanks and Missile Expansions gave you half of the energy and half of the missiles than normal. So, if you got an extra Energy Tank, it could only hold 50 instead of 100.

Also, the guide is out already? Are you fracking kidding me? Yeesk.

Hyper mode sounds excellent (and delightfully pun-y) even if it's just the standard doubling (or quadrupling) of normal mode's enemy damage/health. I was worried watching the videos, as most enemies had continuous/rapid attacks, but they only did 1 damage. Now those attacks will actually be harmful. The first boss looked like it needed way more HP as well, so I definitely think I will start with Veteran mode.

I think what it is is that some guys were either to get them due to connections with a retailer, whether they know someone in a shop or they're an actual employee themselves. I'm also sure there's a lot of online transactions going on there.

Some guy at the Gamefaqs Prime 3 messageboard has an entire topic where he's been answering questions about the game. There's plenty of big time spoilers in there, so I wouldn't suggest anyone go in it, but I did manage to find out a lot of interesing info about the game. Let me just say that it only reinforced my belief that this will be one of the Nintendo's greatest accomplishments ever.

Me too. Dangerous enemies + Wii remote controls= insanely fun battles.
