I guess the old saying: "It's gets better when you get to the later chapters" applies here then? :D

It does indeed. Although, those early hollow fights were pretty sweet. THey had an ambience of gloom, struggle, and awesomeness they haven't really been able to recapture.

That's pretty dumb. If they're going to do that they need to introduce like, a third level that is virtually impossible to get to. Just so ichigo has something to try to attain.

Just watched the first half of the dubbed Bleach. I've come to the conclusion that VIZ and Adult Swim have saved Bleach from being another americanized horrible shell of it's former self. YAY BLEACH!

Edit: After seeing the second half, I now have a few things to complain about.

Rukia's Voice could have been better
The changed words from the original script sound a bit corny

Well, that's all.

EDIT: K, seen it. The Hollows were actually kind of scary. o.o Although that may have to do with the fact I was watching so late...

The next ep preview was bizzare. Are they all like that? Kon's voice took me back a bit. The last line was hilarious though. "Hey, you don't come in til later!" XD

Do you mean changes from the Japanese script, Phraros? Because the lines seemed similar enough to the English manga. That may just be me not being nit-picky, though.

I liked Rukia's voice actually. I had a "wtf?!" moment when she put on a higher-pitched voice when first in Ichigo's room. I assume she does this when at school?

Seems I've been pronouncing Karin's name wrong in my mind~

Hey, does anyone know anything about dub DVDs? :D

There isn't a huge difference between the english dub script and the japanese sub script. Some of the words and pharses are altered a bit, which really doesn't bother me too much if they do it "gracefully". The thing is with the dubbed bleach, there were a few lines I wish they kept as is. Oh well, that's just me being "nit-picky" though.

I'm going to assume Pharos knows what he's talking about and is aware of the fact that there are several ways to translate languages so sub translations aren't the only way to interpret dialogue. :D

You're being sarcastic, aren't you?

Oh well, I don't mind it either way. I wonder how many people got addicted to bleach last night?

I've read most of the Bleach manga, but there's practically no anime on UK TV, so I've never seen the anime. Although when I flicked past Bravo the other night it had a programme on called [adult swim] or something - is that the same Adult Swim you're talking about? We don't have Bravo anyway, so it doesn't really matter...

Yeah, [adult swim] is what we're talking about. An awesome late night block on Cartoon Network that shows anime and adult comedy. Well, it's on CN in the US, anyway.

And, believe it or not, I actually wasn't using sarcasm. :P

I've seen the dub and found it pretty decent. JYB makes a good Ichigo but he's no Masakazu Morita, but Rukia I thought was good as well but I'm too used to the original anime where I'm heavily anticipating ep 96!

I have only read the manga as well..I know that Bleach plays on Saturday night here on Cartoon Network. I am probably just going to watch it in Japanese, Chik's fiancee promised to burn it all for me on DVD's so I am just going to watch that. But he even says the anime is better then the manga (though I dont think he has read the manga)

Based off four volumes and two episodes, I'm going to have to say the manga is better. At a couple points it seems like the anime likes to go out of its way to be different from the manga... with awkward scenes as an outcome.

Ichigo's such a jerk to Orihime in the anime. ;_;

Despite the filler arc moving slowly it does give me the impression that the plot is moving forward what with what happened in 96 and all, but my friend constantly telling me how good the manga is makes me want to read it for myself.

aaww that is sad! i am a strong supporter of Orihime/Ichigo getting together in the manga at least..even though in more likely hood it is going to be Ichigo/Rukia

Yup, from what I've seen, Ichigo is quiiiite a bit meaner to Orihime in the anime, and I've only seen a couple episodes myself. If not meaner, at least...certainly doesn't care about her. In the manga she's at least treated like a distant friend. For instance- in the thing near the beginning of the series about her brother, after Ichigo, Rukia, and Orihime talk in the park about her getting hit by a car, planning on making leek/banana/bean jam for dinner, etc, Ichigo asks her about her injuries in the manga, offers to walk her home, and says that she's best friends with someone he's known since 8th grade.

In the anime through this bit? Acts as though he's generally just gotten to know her in the last year, and just seems to consider her a bothersome student peer.

That changes later on. Personally, I much prefer inoue/Ichigo to Ichigo/rukia, but that might just be my thing for girls with red hair. I still need to buy a couple volumes of the manga to check it out . . . but that involves either an online purchase or a trip to the city.

*high fives Jaina and SS* Ichigo/Orihime is the best. ^^ Although I admit I'm not against Ichigo/Rukia, they seem to me more like friends by odd fate than anything lovey-dovey.

Any particular reason Orihime is known as Inoue in the original anime? If I remember correctly, Inoue is her dub family name... Were her names switched for some reason in the transiton to Japanese manga to anime? Or from Japanese manga to English manga?

And I think Ichigo did offer to walk Orihime home in the anime... but he did it pretty annoyed. (Someone point out if I'm wrong.) He was being polite and thoughtful in the manga, but it seemed like some off-screen was whispering "Offer to walk her home and I'll pay ya five dollars!' in the anime. ...again, not sure if I'm making things up in my mind or not. ^^;

Ichigo just seems all around more serious in the anime. He seems to be completely against being a Soul Reaper, much more than manga Ichigo... Wouldn't be surprised if he becomes more friendly later on, though. Does he?

Anyway. Leek spin!

Annoyed? Click!

And something really random that I stumbled upon.

A bountou character has died (dances). Not that I particularly disliked his character, but some progress in the storyline is most welcome. His fight with Zaraki was awesome, but a bit too reminiscent of Zaraki vs. Ichigo, I thought. Ah well.

I found another weird thing on YouTube.

Take the eighth Naruto opening, replace the background msuic with Asterisk, and... it works surprisingly well. o.o

Is there Bleach this week? And is it still going to 30 min or longer due to there being no ep last week?
