*and from way above* Knights Who Say Wii? This may be a marketing strategy they might actually be able to use! XD

No more unnecessary than your raging optimism.Everybody, chill the fuck out. Especially you, Batch. Honestly. That was unnecessary.

And yet you continue to talk about it...So if by hating the name "Wii" and thinking Nintendo has gone off the deep end shows that were interested in the system. Well that's certainly interesting.
I'm curious as to how exactly you came to this conclusion. If this is your opinion, fine then, state it as such. However, it sounds as if you're making a boisterous claim with little to nothing to back it up. So lemme ask you: you're a gamer, if this new name has isolated you does that mean you're not going to get Wii when it comes out? And, as a gamer, how exactly do you know what a non-gamer is or isn't going to buy? Do you have some sort of education in marketing or advertising that I am unaware of?And if Nintendo isn't interested in marketing to gamers, then what are they doing? They're alienating gamers, who've kept them alive for 20 years, and at the same time trying to appeal to non-gamers who, by definition, won't be drawn to a gaming console (let alone one called "Wii")? What an excellent business decision.
I don't care if you wanna make fun of it. *sigh* My issue is with making rash statements (made by HoW quoted above) and exaggerated comments as if the world was going to end (posted by batchGC earlier). It's not me that needs lightening up. It is just a game system afterall.Sorry. We'll never make fun of an obviously funny name again. Bah, lighten up.
Really? Because there are more then just a few people who don't mind the name or *gasp* actually like it. Perhaps time will tell better then your predictions. Who knows? You could be right. You could also be wrong. You don't sound like you'd be happy to be wrong though. In fact, you sound as if nothing would make you happier then to see Nintendo burst into flames. That's fine by me but it doesn't make your arguments terribly appealing.Aside, I am happy, or rather ironically happy, that people who defended the controller now have little seeds of doubt about the Wii because of the name. Gradually Nintendo is sucking the hope and the faith out of it's followers.

That's... true. I think it's more to do with me being at my wit's end rather than persuading people to get on board with me.You could be right. You could also be wrong. Nintendo knows what it's doing.
Wii is such an obscure word compared to those.
And yet you continue to talk about it...

Logic. Right. As if talking about something or ranting about it automatically means one likes it. Think back HoW, did I use the word "like"? You seem to think I did. Then again, you seem to think I use a lot of words I didn't. So I'm sorry if your "logic" seems based more on assumptions then it does facts. You're really not this stupid. I know you aren't.
Going by your logic, you still semi-kind-of-like Bush because you've ranted about him a lot in Contro (despite the fact that those rants were not in the least bit in his favor).
"Credentials in the field of logic". I hope, I pray, you're talking about actual classes in logistics or something and not, you know, about the fact that you're alive. No, but I have quite a few credentials in the field of logic.
I don't know such things. All I know is that my mother, who dislikes video games with a passion, spent nearly two hours playing Wario Ware Touched on my DS. So I can only assume it's the game play that kept her hooked for those two hours. But, like I said, my knowledge of such things is minimal at best. It's in the name: non-gamer. One who does not play video games, for any variety of reasons. By definition, how can a video game console appeal to a non-gamer?
Great. That's all anyone really wants to know. Why you started going off about how it's unmarketable and why when you've stated you basically don't know what you're talking about is beyond me.As I've said before (maybe not here), I'm not using the name as a springboard to launch into 5-year-old mode. I simply hate the name. There's nothing likeable about it to me, and there's nothing in it that suggests Nintendo is poised for a tremendous comeback.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Personally, I don't want to see Nintendo fail. I can't say I like this name. I can't say I hate it either. I'm still pondering it. The controller on the other hand has not lost any of its appeal, for me at least. Have you by chance been reading up on "Red Steel"? Just hearing about what that game is going to (possibly) do gets me excited. I hope, for your sake and mine, that they do prove you wrong.That's... true. I think it's more to do with me being at my wit's end rather than persuading people to get on board with me.
Nintendo's doing it for me! Haha! *zing*
But you're right, most of me does want to turn out to be right. I guess I do want Nintendo to fail and fail miserably. Yet, there is still a tiny little (wee, if you will) Ninty fanboy inside me that hopes this is a resounding success.
I win either way.

Then why did you say, "No, but I have quite a few credentials in the field of logic" when I asked you if you had any education in marketing or advertising? Now, hold on, let me review my notes here.... Mmm... Hmmm... ah ha! Just I thought! I never said that.

Your conscience has spoken. *Pop*.I heard about this at GameStop this afternoon. A certain Rocko's Modern Life episode comes to mind, though...

After seeing the DS beat the PSP and seeing the remote become accepted by people, I think we owe Nintendo the benefit of the doubt.
