Heh, maybe they are in the same universe.  The Mario posters are up in Hyrule Castle because he's a Hyrulian legend.  That's why Lakitus and such can be seen in Zelda games.

God, that would suck.  D'you think Nintendo would ever go down that route?  The whole Tingle RPG thing's got me sufficiently paranoid...

Kafei isn't shown in the wedding because Nintendo wanted to have the curse on him broken so that Anju and Kafei could live happily ever after, but on MM's tight time constraints they did not have time to make an adult model of Kafei, so they had to settle for using specific camera angles that would make the gamer assume Kafei was there as an adult, without actually showing him.

That said, the alternate ending with Link and Malon riding on Epona WAS photoshopped:

However, I am not sure whether this image was the source of the rumor or something else. But here I have a site with a completely bogus version the rumor on it:

Not that I don't support the couple of course! Oh no, I'm a BIG fan of MalonxLink. I just don't try to proove that they are an absolute official couple. IMO it's all up to the fans to fantasize about who they want Link to do the nasty with. XP

The reason we never see Adult Kafei is that a N64 playermodel takes about 2 days to make, and another 3/4 day to skin, or so i've been told. This depends on the modeller (it takes a while to make lowpoly models, as i know from hard expirience. 3Dmax is spoiling people), but MM was under severe time constraints.

Well first of all, Epona's head is textured wrong. You can see an extra eye the bottom of her head. Also, look around Epona's feet. Epona's shadow never looked like that. Plus there are specks of dark pixels around Malon's butt, that imply that she was cut out of a darker background and pasted onto this picture. Not to mention the fiery debate this picture started that was total Malinkers VS. Zelinkers, that only ended in the Zelinkers prooving it was fake and completely humiliating the Malinkers. o.o

Secondly, don't turn this into a Zelda/Link vs. Malon/Link thing. Don't go and try to make any of the relationships 'official'. They aren't. It's all just speculation made by the fans in order for them to enjoy their version of the story.
