Yeah, OoT's world is a titch closed in, but it was AMAZING for its day, and just about everybody still remembers it as a favorite.

Not to be, er, picky, but do you mean Hyrule at its peak landscape-wise or story-wise?

Because landscape-wise, you gotta point. Story-wise, this is kinda the DESCENT of Hyrule, where time has diffused the magic in Hylian's blood, the land is EASILY re-taken over, and history is all but lost.

It may have been the shadow of OoT's Hyrule's self, but I don't think that neither you or I can deny that no matter how good each iteration of Zelda looks in the future; it is absolutely stunning in my opinion

Sorry to double post, but I thought it relevant as the poll is now over and the final confirmation of the votes are needed.......even though you see when you click onto the thread.


So without further ado:

Last but not least, the FS/FSA era with 0 votes. (Which is unfortunate as The Zol would voted for that if my memory serves correctly)

6th is the TP era with 1 vote, which I think was from Dark Nut and saved it from joint last place

5th is the LoZ/AoL era with 2 votes. These games were the first to bring to our attention the virgin (back in the day) realm of Hyrule and I'm sure are held very dear to many Zelda gamers' hearts

4th place is the TMC era Hyrule with 6 votes. This Hyrule was the setting for the third Zelda game developed by Capcom's Flagship Studios, which attracted members due to Hyrule Town.
I myself loved the music.

...Anyway I digress, 3rd place is the TWW era Hyrule (also known as the Great Sea) with 6 votes. TWW swung it because it accumulated more in less time (if you get my logic). This era was popular becuase of the freedom given from having your own island while others voted for it because of the community of Windfall Island

2nd place is the ALttP era Hyrule with 7 votes. Thanks to SteveT's vote that swung it ALttP was popular for the fact that Hyrule was at its geographical/landscape peak as well as the cultures and ruins that were dotted in the landscape.


And now, as I'm sure you probably guessed from the beginning, the OoT era Hyrule dominated in 1st place with 18 votes. OoT won because of its landscape, culture, beauty, races, temples, landmarks, temples, ruins, people, songs.................what more can I say?
