i enjoy:
Cowboy Bebop- Love the characters, love the plots, love the incredibly sad ending, and most of all, i love the way it was done.
Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X OVA's- Trust and Betrayal put Kenshin really close to my number one spot. Trust and Betrayal alone is enough to make the series itself better, because it gives you a much more indepth look at Kenshin's past, and makes you look at the reasoning behind his "no kill" phylosophy
FLCL- characters are also good, funny plot, overall good story, fun to watch all in one run

Hellsing- fun weapons XD vampires, good plot, overall enjoyable
Berserk- great storyline! (bought a baelet... however the hell it would be spelt... necklace

worst anime's: dragonball/z/gt: it is badly drawn, has naff characters and bad storys and also when they power up they sound like there in labour(giving birth)
pokemon: its pokemon
outlaw star:everyone has pointy chins lol

some of the most entertaining anime's are drawn rather odd in comparison to modern anime ::cough Lupin cough cough:: lol
*strangles you* Lupin was drawn by the gawd of all anime....Miyazaki! He did the original Lupin movie and a few others.. *points to her avatar and Jaina banner* That was drawn by Miyazaki also.. >.> so he does draw his anime a little different.. :S but most of his anime's include a guy that is drawn like Lupin..Miyazaki is one of the most celebrated anime artists in Japan.. >.>

um..Goth Kirby, why do you like the others and Synile right you should judge on the drawing
Naruto: it has a interesting story and is not like anime's like dbz were there is always an unbeatable alien and they always remember a technique they never used before lol in naruto it doesnt have that many bad guys, and when thay do they are never unbeatable.
roruni keshin: its about samerais but its not like "o yea im the strongest and im gonna kill u all" kinda samurai's. the main character has a no kill policy wich i admire
Inuyasha: ive always liked the main chracter, hes so cool, but the first episode is kinda strange

i wasnt saying his drawing was bad, just stating to prove my point, that not all anime that is good has that traditional anime look to it

My favourites:
1. FLCL- Duh. Because it's crazy as hell.
2. Macross Plus- Because I'm an aviation enthusiast.
3. Robotech/Macross (original)- See above
4. Gundam 08th MS Team- I dunno.. this one just called to me more than the other Gundams
I probably have more... but I just can't think of them right now.

Though yes, anime was made because they liked American animation and wanted to do their own, but didn't have the same amount of money - thus why lots of times movement is displayed more in hair or other things rather then the actual dynamic body. Of course, now that's not totally true, but you still see the "limited" frames in stuff like Pokemon and even Gundam, though they've gotten better with jaw movements and whatnot.

Gundam Wing - DJ puts this perfectly, but I have to add that I also like the main characters as well.
I started watching Witch Hunter Robin, since they just started showing that over here, and so far it has seemed okay. Not quite a favourite yet, but I like the drawings and such.
I've also seen the Cowboy Bebop movie, and that was enjoyable, but unfortunately the series isn't shown on TV and isn't in the stores for rent, so... I'm kinda out of luck there. Oh well.

Also because every episode is something new and different.

If FLCL isn't at least in your top 5 favorite anime, then you haven't seen it. Either that, or you have absolutely no taste.
That was not a flame. That was completely true. COMPLETELY.
