I assume it's the first one - there's a trip to Hong Kong in it.

I used to watch the anime on CiTV when it was on. Though it's apparently quite different to the original... There's no more anime on television any more though.

I love Case Closed/Detective Conan. The English manga is wonderful because it translated absolutely everything literally, save the curse words. I hate it when people feel they have to translate every F-bomb in the book when it doesn't hold quite the milder tone it does in Japan. Mmm. Case Closed. So fun, so silly, so mind-boggling. This Aoyama fellow really knows his mystery novels.

i'm in the process of trying to finish fruits basket as i have somehow... how to say... gained access to them. unfortunately i only have a week to finish from volume 12-ish till the end. >_<

Fruits Basket is the greatest. The anime is classy, too, but it's too bad it had to end so suddenly.

Yeah the anime followed the manga so well..until the thing with Kyo..which was volume like 8 or so in the manga XD of course the manga is up to like..volume 18 in Japan >.> so you can gather that it is waaay different from the anime. I have to say Furuba is for sure one of my faves...Furuba..FMA...Naruto..aand Chrono Crusade greatest..manga..EVER. Though Chrono is probably my top fave

Well the anime finished up after the thing with Kyo..which isnt even half of the manga..that kind of disappointed me..I do wonder if the series just got cancelled or what! I mean I have people who still believe that the Rooster and the Horse are never actually IN the series at all XD anyone who is keeping up with the manga fully knows those characters now

They were considering a second season from what I heard. They'd just have to get the funds and all the artists back together...

Of course, they'd have to change a major plot point for one of the characters totally if they did, (you know who,) because of how they changed his character in the show...and what the heck is so special about Kureno? He's a used-up pansy?

I just like his personality..not to mention his relationship with a couple of other characters. Yeaaah they do have to change that bit..but I dunno towards where they are in Japan the character you are talking about is a lot more like that..I dunno I have only read up to chapter 108 and he is still..mean as hell

Well, uh, if you've only read up to that far, then no, you won't know what I'm talking about. See, the anime is abnormally faithful to the books, but that's kind of a bad thing in one regard: if they change one tiny thing about a character, (I am referring to Akito,) then the rest of the series may have totally messed up plot twists that can't be translated directly in the anime, so they'll have to go even further away from the original work.

As most Furuba-freaks know at this point, in the anime,

Akito is referred to as the "hub of the curse" and the reason for his actions is that he is bitter at everyone for forcing this burden on him from birth, and demands that they ever bend to his every whim and cater to him in penance.

This is all well and good, but the manga later reveals something VERY different...

Akito, to put it bluntly...is a she-male. Yeah, Akito's a VERY sickly, underdeveloped woman, brought up to speak and act like a man as the head of the household by her foolish, domineering mother, for several reasons that I won't go into. She is cruel to the members of the zodiac, or rather, the FEMALES of the zodiac and Yuki, because she wants all the men to herself, a result of her father's upbringing. She want thems to adore her, and Yuki was her, um..."pet" before Kureno. Yuki was only mentally tortured, but he wouldn't do what she wanted him to, so she released him and broke in Kureno, and she sexually abuses him, as well as putting the other men into their place to fear her. A little deeper and a lot creepier than the evil old anime Akito.

But "que sera sera" in the words of Shigure. Chances are about 40% that a second season will even be made...

It would sure be nice..but it wont.. because of yeah..that whole thing..

I did know about the whole Akito thing because that was brought up ages ago now from where i read..but I always gathered that Kureno was Akito's man whore before Yuki because of the whole thing that..I guess i figured Kureno lost the curse a while ago. I figured it was either while Yuki was living with Akito or before he was..one or the other.

How for have you read? I know that only up to 108 has actually be..fan-translated. I know where to find like summaries..and well pictures from beyond there..but I dont want to have to read a huge paragraph and then try to guess where that is stated in the panel

I think I have a new favorite Manga.

Flame of Recca.

I have vols. 1-3, so far its cool.

I have read scanlations thought to volume 33, which is the final volume, and I decide to pick it up because it was awesome.

Its one of those fighting Shonen (like Yu Yu Hakusho). And it is a good series. Its mostly about Ninjas, Recca, the star of the series, is really a Ninja of the Hokage clan. I don't really want to spoil it, and if you like fighting series or Ninjas than pick up Flame of Recca.

And also, as far as Ninja Manga goes:

Flame of Recca > Naruto

That's right. IMO Flame of Recca is a better Ninja series than Naruto.

Well, I think Naruto is ok, its just that its vastly overrated IMO.

Pirates beat ninjas anyway.

I dunno. But I do know that One Piece > Naruto. So, Pirates win Manga wise.

*smites* I dont like Naruto because of..Ninja's I like it because of the storyline personally Buuut I am not going to say it is my all time fave series..please Chrono Crusade is better buut storyline is everything to me ^^

i just found a new great manga... or the first book proves to be a good one... Princess Ai. when i saw that it was written by courtney love, i kinda was disbelieving, but i really did like it. it's kinda simple, but still has an interesting idea.

Well, that is why FOR is better than Naruto, FOR has IMO a better storyline and characters than Naruto. I just said that it is a better Ninja series because, well, their both focus on Ninjas.
