1) saving: put this into perspective. you can only save at owls or when you're willing to return to CT day 1. ok, how is that different from say metroid prime? or any game that limits you to save points, or only at the ends of levels? let's face it, in OoT you were equally screwed if you had to save and shut down middungeon... majora takes the dungeon issue into account and so it's puzzles reflect not getting keys and throwing switches that are permanent, but doing a moderate puzzle every time you play, such as kill all the enemies, which you would usually do anyway. so i feel that saving isn't really a viable complaint, because it's so similar to ordinary games way of saving.
2) fewer dungeons: ok, this kind of sucked, but then again, you did have a sub dungeon/area/quest for each one. take the two castle/palaces, the pirates' fortress, the whole ghost thing in the north and then the skeleton thing in ikana. not to mention the highly detailed overworld, which blend much better than OoT did. so while it's a legit complaint, it too holds little wonder.
3) epic vs. strange/dark/twisted: ok, let's not touch this one because it's opinion
4) cutscenes: majora wins flat out. there are fewer but they're much much better, and there's a lot more ingame scenes.
5) characters: ok, so zeldashows up once in mm, but we can discount that, and ganon not at all. so two of the three main characters are missing, which counts heavily in OoT's favor. but mm had much more developed, real characters who tugged at your heartstrings and pissed you off regulary.
that's enough typing. once again, i'd say mm takes the cake. mmm cake *mouth waters*

Re) Complaint 2: I think that OoT had enough sub quests: For example, Dampe's grave, the Bottom of the Well, the Gerudo's fortress. Like MM, you had to do certain things before you were able to get into the level.

Majora's Mask is far better than Ocarina of Time in virtually ever respect. It's actually laughable how shallow OoT is when I play it right after having played MM.
Errr, for me, it's totally the other way around. I like much, much more the epic storyline of OoT instead of the MM storymess. GO OoT!!!!

imo they're not rpg's. they're adventure. (except AoL) i think rpg's have stats, exp, level-ups, etc.I just plain old love Zelda games b/c they're RPGs, and I LOVE RPGs.

Exactly. The landscape was not realistic. It felt like a jigsaw puzzle, not a "Middle-earthian" if you will, kingdom, or even a silly town, (which it was,) it felt slapped together.MM seemed too slow for me, plus it wasn't expansive enough. I felt cramped; as if the whole game was happening in one room.
I hate MM. OoT is so much better. MM mask pissed me off because it just felt like a waste of time. It wasn't Hyrule, it wasn't Ganon, and Zelda was only in a flashback. It didn't have the epic proportions of OoT or any other Ganon-big-bad game. I didn't care about this new "Termina" and the moon slaughtering them all. My favorite thing about MM by far was the Anju and Kafei (SP?) side quest. I thought they were so adorable. But other than that... OoT all the way.
Well, I don't HATE MM, but I know what you mean. Why on earth would we care about Termina? Eventually it grows on you, but the drastic pull from the epic feel we know and love didn't get it for me. I was just thinking, meh, I'll get over it, this is different and good in its own way, but then...the ending. It was so slipshod, so offbeat, (though dialogue was well done) I was insulted, and only felt truly gratified by, you guessed it, the Anju/Kafei subquest. Now THAT was the perfect blend of mystery and blatancy.

And as per what Zelda is: I've come to call it an adventure series with RPG elements. But I don't feel it's anywhere near a true RPG, simply because it's well outside the RPG "boundary" well-marked, in my opinion, by Chrono Trigger. (Nope, not a gamer! No sirree!)
