Oot Or Mm?

It must be that I'm a stickler for character development, and Majora's Mask wins at that hands down. I mean, how can you NOT have character development when you're perpetually repeating the same days over and over again?
I can see how some people felt 'pulled away' by the adventure in Termina, then again, I kind of feel this was done on purpose. We, the players, are supposed to be in Link's boots, in a way. If we are feeling pulled away, then imagine how he is feeling. Termina is different from Hyrule. This is something that is thrown in our faces from the very beginning.
Also, Majora's Mask had the three different races you could be, which was quite a neat idea if you ask me. And it gave people who were already masters at the controls (from playing OOT) a new gameplay elements to work out.
I liked Majora's cutscenes better, as well. You can tell they gave Link a few new facial expressions (my favorite is that little sigh of relief he sometimes does), and the scenes themselves are just better constructed.
Another thing, the Expansion Pak really helped the game's graphics and engine. One thing that always kind of bugged me about OOT was the 'loading issue,' where sometimes objects wouldn't appear until you were about 3 feet in front of them. It was a bit of the pain if you were trying to look around, and kept seeing Epona appear and disappear. Majora's Mask doesn't have this problem because of the memory enhancement, allowing for many objects to be loaded at once.
I can deal without having Zelda or Ganon; Link's Awakening had a lack of these two characters, yet it too was a wonderful game.
So, yeah. Majora's Mask is better in my opinion.

I tried this with LoZ. I beat levels 1, 2, and 3 and was able to retrieve the ladder out of level 4 without picking up the sword. I died about a million times, but it was interesting!

Majora's Mask is better than Ocarina of Time in most every aspect. Ocarina of Time was first and that's really the biggest thing it's got going for it.
MM was just such an immersive game. I really felt like I was a part of that world for 3 days. Characters were much more fleshed out and had much more defined personalities. They had lives and goals, they didn't just walk around saying the same thing over and over. The game also had a ton of sidequests that really let you explore into this world Nintendo created.
Another thing I loved about this game is that the characters displayed emotion so well. Kafei barely making it to Anju's room before the moon crashed and them finally reuniting...only to wait for their deaths. Where in OoT can you find something like that? The game was very dark, both in the story and the general atmosphere. It delt with death and love more than any Zelda game has ever done. The dungeons, although fewer in number, were also superior to the ones in Ocarina of Time (at least IMO).
Also, a lot of new gameplay elements like the 3-day time system and transformation masks were added. The 3-day time system itself turned the game into one gigantic puzzle, where you have to balance the amount of time you needed. The transformation masks added a fun new layer to the series, being able to control beings other than Link. A welcome change.
It's truely a finely crafted masterpiece, a jewel among a jewel of a game series. I wish developers would create games like this more often.
My thoughts exactly. I like the fact that Ninty didnt go with the typical Zelda story, and I think they enhanced what they already had with OoT. The only problem with MM was it was too short. It took me like a quarter of the time OoT did. I like how the dungeouns wernt typical dungeons. They had something weird about them. The characters were soooooooo much better and i like how there all have there own minds and lives and how well it has been implemented in the game. Their a community and things they do affect eachother. I wanna go play MM now

MM was good, but OoT was way better.

So, it's repetitive. How is that a postive?I like MM because it has fewer dungeons and you can play everything over again.
OoT is the best game ever made. A shrine should be built in OoT's honor. Sacrifices to Miyamoto must be made for this wonderful gift upon gamedom.

The Graphics and Story were a huge improvement over Ocarina, and Majora's Mask has something Ocarina of TIme sorely lacks: the overworld theme. Ocarina is a great game, but it laid the foundation for the ultimate game. Majora's Mask is, IMO, the best of the 3D Zeldas, and the N64's best single game. Period.

That, of course, being the only reason I liked MM. The plot was threadbare, an extreme cutaway from the Hyrule I loved, it gave me the creeps when I was 10, and the epic feel, an LOTR feel of bravery and nostalgia...was all but nonexistent. But, for MM, that was made up for in the stunning cutscenes, great characters, and the ability to turn into other creatures, a gaming plus.
Don't even get me started on OoT...I will RANT all day about it's greatness.

My country lay within a vast desert. During the day, the searing winds burned my land, and at night a cold gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind only brought one thing: Death.
But the wind that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin.
I... coveted that wind, I suppose.
And when Daphnes steals his wish, he flips out and goes medieival on Link. If I had tried to obtain something for hundreds of years and it was suddenly stolen from inches in front of my face, I'd probably be a little pyscho too.

Anyway, the OoT pwnz all games. Why? Think about it. The OoT is THE game of the year (1998) and is the most remade Zelda game. Think of Z'05. Who WANTS that game? all of us. What do we compare it to? OoT. Why not MM? The graphics are the same as MM, so why not MM? Because OoT is the best game of all time. It pwnz all games. Period. Why? Because it is THE zelda game. It gives that zelda feel. It is the first Zelda game to start using more 'puzeles' than 'monsters' and I love puzeles. Monsters get boring after screen, after screen, after screen.....Do a poll of people in your school/work/job-thing. Most will go "MM, what's that?" But with OoT, they'll probably be like "Oh, I know that, thats a Zelda game right?" Just ask a stranger, ang get the proof. OoT pwnz all games. Of corse, Z'05 WILL be the best game of all time, so there's no point of arguing, cause Z'05 pwnz all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111onethreeQ

HAHAHAHA! That is waff! Bare people have compared the graphics of Z05 to MM. Anyway other than the fact that MM graphics were better the styels were more or less the same.

Just like we don't say Minish Cap uses FSA style graphics; we we say FSA and Minish Cap use Wind Waker Style graphics.
(The original Four Sword came out before Wind Waker, but TWW style was announced long before FS became a reality.)

I like OoT because of nostalgia, and because of that classic epic feel, and the size of Hyrule Field, that some have said its barren and empty, added to that feeling of being an epic adventure on a great land (that's why I love how the whole "huge overworld and the need of a horse" concept of Z'05 sounds). Then, the NPCs always on the a same spot saying the same thing over and over was boring.
I really loved MM 'cause of the weird and dark atmosphere and all that character development we didn't get on OoT, but I just didn't like the whole cramped feeling you had in Termina Field, were just a few meter away from the sand of the coast you had the snow of the mountain, and that sort of thing. Heck, if it weren't for that thingy you had to jump to get to Great Bay, you wouldn't even need a horse; at that point of the game you already have the Goron and it goes even faster than Epona.
On MM I liked too the transformations, they really added a lot for the gameplay, and I wasn't really bothered for the saving, the game would've been even shorter and far easier without it. The dungeons were much more fun than OoT's, imo, but fewer, still. Re-fighting the bosses pwned.
But I just love OoT... I can't complain about almost anything on OoT, even though I really love the MM style.

I could never get into MM too much. I'm fairly certain it had to do with the whole three day thing. I really... don't know. I'm sure it could be awesome... if I could get used to the three day thing.
