Recent wave? I must be living with my head in the sand, because I have no idea what you're talking about. (That and I probably don't live in the same country as you). In every show I've seen that features a homosexual, they're just that, a homosexual, although I do realise they're rather camp. (That I believe is probably more down to the network and the show's producers themselves).

I live in London :P I dont have any problem with Gays on TV, its just the stereotypes that are portrayed on them.

I dont have a problem with homosexuality, but the recent wave of homosexual shows on tv is getting kind of annoying.

As opposed to recent wave lewd heterosexual conduct on TV too?

A recent one? Its always been annoying.

It's gotten more gratuitous since in the last 15 years. Ya damn kids and your music.

Yes but when did 15 years ago become recent? For example, did you know that Hirohito died recently?

Recent. Not so recent. Big deal. It's more of a problem then gay's prancing around on TV like a bunch of forest fairies... which doesn't even appear on TV much anyways.

Well, that's not really any surprise but it's very dumb basis for the overall judgement of a group of people. Okay, you don't like how gays act all fruity on TV? Um, yeah... <_<

I no longer see you as capable of covering for Satan when he goes on Holiday to Bali.

What TV shows are you watching? The fact is any gays on TV tend to be campy and annoying. Moreso in reality TV than in scripted TV, which is quite funny. I objected to the thread starter's opinion, that people shouldn't be allowed to express their lifestyle and character in their sig, but I do agree that everything now is gay overload. God. The most popular British comedy for the last two years has been Little Britain, a show all about gays and how they enjoy gay sex etc. etc.

Too much.

Uh, Little Britain isn't all about that. There's... Two sketches with gay people in them, and they're making fun of a certain type of gay person; the gay person who's actually a homophobe. The other sketch involves the guy fancing the Prime Minister, which is just a hilarious situation (and is just the best of the sketches).
Then there's a whole bunch of other sketches which *occasionally* have a gay person thrown in there, but 99% of the time there's only two repeated sketches with gay characters, if I remember right.

But there is too much CAMPNESS on Tv. Not gayness, although people tend to link the two. It's not like you see two guys making out on Tv on a regular basis. No, you see guys being flaboyant and camp. I hate campness. Drives me up the wall. The only person who I can stand being overly camp is Graham Norton, and that's because he's genuinely funny, he doesn't get laughs by just saying 'fabulous'.

Also, Will & Grace does terrible things for stereotypes. They had one episode with two lesbians who were like, the epitome of 'short fat stereotypical lesbo'. The man-hating type. It's awful.

LESBIANS CAN BE SLIM AND HAVE LONG HAIR, YOU KNOW. And regularly are.

Morons.

I read an article recently about this sort of thing.

All the Lesbians I've ever met may be slim, but they never have long hair and almost always wear clothes that give them an asexual appearance. You know, big baggy clothing that are kind of tomboyish but not really.

Lesbians who do not conform to this ideal don't quite fit in with the lesbian group.

Nowadays, people are reverting to stereotypes in order to regain individuality and this is hurting those that are within the group but do not conform to these stereotypes. It is tragic and I almost feel left out too, all because I do not advertise my sexuality and remain for the most parts, uncamp and unstylishly dressed.

(Or maybe it's just me being quiet?)

Oh, I see the thing. Don't get what it's making fun of, though.

If it's making fun of British people in bed, then I also heard that not only do Brits last longer, but they're *actually* more kinky than Europeans.

Which is a scary thought. More kinky than the French?

Family Guy's usually hilarious but sometimes it totally misses the mark.
