General ogre? You mean the huge guy wearing massive horns riding the armoured boar? The Moblinish guy? I doubt it, he doesn't look like Onox to me.

Onox was based on Iron Knuckles. The Iron Knuckles from OoT/MM had very *very* similar armour to Onox. And, with Iron Knuckles being related to Darknuts, it's no wonder he is armed with a ball and chain. He's basically an uber Iron Knuckle/Darknut/Ball and Chain Trooper.

I think I have an idea. This is my assumption of the plot, but this is a GUESS; Ganon, after being defeated in has managed to free himself. (If after WW.......the game can feature Ganon as he is all powerful WITH the master sword at his side, because he is now using it and has transformed it into a soul-edge type thing (solucalibur2) and is using it's powers combined with the triforce to bring the darkrealm into hyrule. (If after an other game......Then he obtained the whole triforce and wished the dark realm to exsist (again) and this time IN hyrule. In both cases, the dark realm in hyrule is the twilight world. it just makes sence to say they are the same for now until we know for sure. But, what is midna then? Zelda, transformed into a ? ANyone have suggestions?

This is not meant to dismiss the Twilight Realm = Dark Word, theory, but I thought it might help if I contribute this:

...In the early hours of Twilight Princess, as Link heads toward the Hyrule festival, he stumbles into a twilight realm--not a wholly seperate dark world like in A Link to the Past, but rather a limbo that's slowly spreading like an infestation, transforming Hyrule into a dead realm....

An advanced article I got to read states that the Twilight World is not the Dark World, sorry...

There are similarities though...

Seems there's a trend lately in giving established difficult-to-understand zelda concepts a slightly different motif under a different name... triforce/light force, sacredrealm/darkworld/twilightworld... i think the idea we're supposed to get is that nothing magical has real 'facts' about it.. and that they change over time to mean different things in different eras.. which ... isn't cool.. but if you think about it, it makes sense.
the dark world isn't even a proper world, it's an alternate plane / mirror world / copy land.. so its rules could easily change in different situations...
and the triforce is simply the power of the gods brought down to the world, so it can do different things... under different names.. why not? hmm.

VERY interesting Garsh man. Thanks for that. It could be that the Twilight Realm is the beginning of the Dark World's creation...it starts small in the beginning, but the more the 'infection/infestation' increases, the more it becomes an actual world...

This is all interesting. Ever since Oracles, I've always wanted to see a very literal transformation of the normal world into a Dark World with a very clear "line" between the two that you can jump in and out of.
