I've got this one friend who cries whenever he sees a sad episode of FMA (or any anime, for that matter). It's really kind of funny.Episode 7 or 8 where that certain someone gets sacrificed to become a chimera - man that touched me - i felt exactly what ed was feeling.

This show has made me a little teary-eyed from what I've watched, which was like 10 episodes maybe (as well as TRIGUN when ******** died, man... that made me so sad it wasn't funny, which... it wasn't anyway).

In other news, I just bought the first volume of the Full Metal Alchemist manga today. High quality stuff. I'll definitely be getting volume two when it comes out this July.

(The movie takes place 2 years after the series. At the end of the series, the Shapeshifting Homunculus Envy is revealed to be Edward and Alphonse's older half-brother, the son of Hohenheim and Dante. Envy is sucked into "The Gate", which is a heaven and hell for the Homunculi. Here he is rumored to have died, but later is proven wrong.
The movie takes place in an alternative world (rumored to be the Gate World. If you walk into the gate and are human, it transports you to another world, apparently, which is more similar to our world.)
In this alternative world, Edward meets a boy named Alphonse Heidrich, who looks exactly like Al did when he was human. The whole movie is a quest to discover more about the boys, apparently. In the movie, it appears that Ed has his original limbs back, and the homunculus Wrath (kid, mini version of Envy in appearance) is now equipped with automail.
Envy appears to be a main villain in the movie, just as he was in the series. Only instead of being a shape-shifting homonculus, he is a large dragon (see picture).
ATTACHED PICTURES: Dragon Envy from the Movie, and Human Envy. The Human Envy is a Homonculus, but it is what he looked like when he was a human. He only looks like he does in the series because he despises Hohenheim and did everything possible to not look like him. I think he looks hotter as Palm-tree anyway.)
Yeah, I wanna see the movie too

See the highlights just before the last parenthesis to find out what these images are.

I have to say that this anime is on of the best I have seen/own, and that is of anime mind you. It has a catchy soundtrack, great detail in plot/story, it has its times for being funny, sad, serious and just there. The charatcers have a VERY indepth background, and they just seem to pull you in as if to say, "Join us!" I can't find anything wrong with this show, and that is how it should be for all anime, nothing too out of place, and zero editing if at all possible!(mind you I haven't seen it on CN yet)
I am now sitting on the edge of my seat awaiting the movie release here in the states. It seems to be another possiblity for an anime to show up in theaters stateside, just not like the Pokemon/Yu-gi-oh/Digimon movies. They were good to watch, but I'm expecting more from an anime on such a big screen.

And whoever said that the movie wouldn't be here for like 10 years, I think you might be overestimating. FMA's popularity in the US skyrocketed (I was at Acen this year, and there was literitly an Army of Eds), and the series is a realitively new Anime itself (I think it was made in 2003). I say we should get it in 2 years, but I might just be overlly hopeful.

MK: Vash and Knives (highlight to see) are both power plants. Those plants that the humans use to run their power and everything. I don't exactly know where they came from, but somehow Vash and Knives were found by the people migrating to the new planet and were raised by them. There's one episode, 'Out of Time', in which Vash tries to heal one of the plants on the ship and calls it 'little sister' or something, and inside the plant you see a human-like creature that is melded with the ship. These creatures are the power sources used by the people, which explains Knives' hatred towards humans.

Trust me, it will roxx0r compared the the English. Plus, you don't have to wait a whole year to see all the eps.
*cough torrentspy cough*
P.S. Lazurukeel, thank you for the info on what Vash and Knives are.
Also, the Full Metal Alchemist movie doesn't launch until sometime this summer in JAPAN if I recall correctly...

If you do, use the white text and tell me? I've seen the 51 eps, and I'm confused o.o
And Fizz, those images aren't from the movie (highlight), the dragon is from the third (I think it's that one) opening sequence for the series, and that picture of Envy is from the second last episode in the series.

It is uncertain what happened to Envy. His desire was to go to the "other side" and kill Edward's Father. He either made it through the gate to the other side or was "destroyed."
I lean towards Envy making it across. When Ed's father was sent across the gate, those black things grabbed him too, similar to how Envy was taken...
I'm not sure but I think Envy might be mentioned in the up coming movie they are making. If so, I would expect Envy made it through the gate and is causing troubles in London.

I think Adult Swim said the "new" episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist would start either in August or September. I know it was supposed to be this year.
August or September would make perfect sense because of this:
- Adult Swim started rerunning it again last week and they played only like 27 or 28 episodes the last time they were rerunning it (the last episode I saw before it started rerunning was the episode with the automail competition and their teacher finds out where they are. The AS website had the names and descriptions of up to, I think, 34 or 35).
I started taping it because I don't have money for the DVD's right now, but I have to go out and buy Volume 2 of the manga and get FMA2 the game (bought the first one for $23 and recently beat it).
