I believe so. As for Sheik, it's simple to say that there's a Shadow Hal thing going on, and there's a glamour on her to make her look and talk and appear as a man to everyone. Yeah.

Just for the record, that is not actually an anime. It's Nickelodeon's attempt at making an anime. Just like the other stupid fake animes like Cartoon Network's Totally Spies and Teen Titans crap.

But onto Sheik...

The only real clues to what Sheik was were these two quotes...

"A young man named Sheik saved
me from under the ice..."

and...

"I apologize for meeting you in
disguise, but it was necessary to
hide from the King of Evil.
Please forgive me..."

It's obvious that she is meant to look like a "young man" or "若者" as he is called in that quote. 若者(wakamono) translates to "young man, youth, or lad."

The key to the second quote is the use of "disguise". Disguise is defined as "To modify the manner or appearance of in order to prevent recognition." In the Japanese version "偽り" is used. 偽り(itsuwari) translates to a "lie, falsehood, fabrication, or fiction."

I personally believe that she was meant to have transformed herself into a male, but it seems like it was purposely left open for some speculation. (in both the Japanese and English editions) It just adds to the mystery that is Sheik.

for the last damn time, nearly all that 'wannabe anime' is either actually made in part by a real mangaka (teen titans) or isn't american in the first place (totally spies and such) so nyeh!

Maybe the actual animators are Japanese, but the creators and story people aren't. And that is much more critical to an anime than the animation. And story is exactly what fake anime is lacking. That and they overexaggerate all the little cliche anime things.

i could buy this 'shallow hal' idea though... that it's all a suggestive illusion.. but that doesnt explain how it fools people like ganondorf, who can almost certainly see through stuff like that.

And what bugs me the most is that it shouldn't matter whether she was trying to con Ganon or not.

If he's so all powerful, then he should be able to sense the magic emenating from her, regardless of what form she's in, unless she has some sort of mystic Jedi-like powers of deception.

He can't because I don't think the triforce of power has the ability for that, I think only wisdom would have to do with the mind. The weird part is, Ganon searched for young girls in Windwaker. While Zelda was dressed up as a male in Oot. Who say's she isn't dressed up again like a male? I mean she tricked him once! She could have tricked him twice, and Ganon would never found out!

Ok, those bodybuilding women look a bit like sheik... because of friggin' steroids. in fact, from that lady's skeletal structure.. it'd have to have been from an early age. no hips, wide shoulders, flat muscular chest.. but it's about as plausible that zelda turns into -that- as a male.
