It just goes to show, it's not about wanting kids to spend more time outside.  It's about wanting kids to have the same interests as them.

I am pretty sure this is precisely it.

One elder on facebook, who I usually like but sometimes disagree with, asked why kids don't just play things like baseball or red rover anymore. And how she's prefer it if all her grandkids either crafted or read books. She doesn't like when people argue on her posts, so I'm going  to leave it. But seriously. Parents barely allow their kids outside. It's not the kids. Kids would be happy to run around and play if left to their own devices. It's in their nature. But they can't do any of those things if nervous paranoid parents never let them be free outside.

No son of mine will be playing outside!  We only play video games in this house, young lady.

Favorite Facebook post of the day:

Pokemon Go is a spy program from Japan, utilizing American citizens to spy on American military bases and restricted areas. The data is then collected by "foreigners."

Little did we know that in all the years of Japan being America's biggest ally in Asia, they were secretly gearing up for another Pearl Harbor. Tora! Tora! Tora!

I got my first Squirtle today too!

Rockefeller Center is apparently teeming with Pokes--these are just some of what I got today :D

Distraught that Japan is about to find out all of Ireland's state secrets from my diligent Pokémon hunting.

I haven't had much chance to play this while out and about, but yesterday I took a long walk home from a house viewing and a Squirtle and Eevee both appeared near me just long enough to get me all excited before the servers went down. :(
