I've been wanting to make a thread about this for some time now, but I've never gotten around to it until now.

I used to have a strange habit of browsing the archives to try and learn about LA's history, but I can only find out so much, due to the fact that a lot is gone due to previous hacks and what not. What I'm hoping for in this thread, is that some of the older members will tell about LA's history (the farther back the better, but I'm not sure we have anyone from when it started). Anything worth telling about, previous dorms, old notable members, events, etc.

I joined LA in 01 I believe.

I remember being a 7th grader, just enamored with all of the awesome writers in the RP forum: smartearthworm, DJ, especially Eric. Anju was good. This new girl, TwinRova, she was pretty capable too. And Jasi, when she wanted to be. I was probably so very terrible by comparison. One of my favorite RP characters was a black Zora named Zeyon (I have never played the N64 Zeldas, so I used Google Image Searches whenever I had to describe him.) He was basically Cable from the X-Men and he threw out Kamehamehas when I got too lazy to describe his movements. GOSH I WAS SUCH A COOL KID.

I remember some of the older user groups. I was a part of The Gundams for a short while until we got real dorms. Then The Labyrinth of Doom was the best place ever. I stole Jasi's pants and hung them using a Yoshi's tongue as a flagpole. And there was much making out between the top LoD brass. I remember that part vividly. <3

At one point I was interviewed for an Admin position, but I was 14 and retarded. I think Vet got it instead? You all see how well that turned out.

I did eventually co-mod the Music forum with Pook for a while.

After the first reset, I got up to like 11k posts, fighting against Korhend for top poster evers. Then I mysteriously disappeared. Then there was another reset and I showed up again. Then I mysteriously disappeared. Then I came back and tried to RP for a bit with my fully-functioning-brain-writing-skills, but the RP faded into inactivity. Then I mysteriously disappeared for the last time.

Oh except I'm posting now so you know what's up next.

OK seriously, yeah it would be cool to have a recorded history of LA. But damn...references to Alak and Korhend. Those were the days. Anyone remember GraniteJJ and our days modding Contro?

I guess this forum originally started as a sort of joint venture between Zelda Legends with Khuffie, and Legends of Zelda with Davogones. I didn't spend too much time on ZL, but I was all about Legends of Zelda with Dave's storyline theories and stuff. Pretty soon I found the Storyline forum, and was posting theories like mad. Joey and I are old war buddies from that era. It took about a year before I realized there was more to this place than just the storyline forum, and I soon went out into other areas. Eventually a few of us bugged Khuffie and the others to start up a scifi forum and Contro, and that's why I spend so much time there.

Oh btw, I love how I know what "the Incident" is (at least I'm pretty sure I do).

Well, I joined when I was 13 years old in early 2004, pretty much when I began to discover the Internet. I remember LoD, CoS and DoM, but I have never belonged to a dorm. I also recall the admins being Lord of Shadow, Serenade, Burgundy Tears, Veteran, Davogones and Khuffie.

I would not be able to tell you much about anything in general, but I can tell you a bit of what happened in the Zelda Storyline forum from 2004 to 2006, when I more or less stopped being interested in the topic.

Similar story here. Took me longer to find the rest of it, and I was never fond of Sci Fi or Contro. Used to post in Life a lot, before it became Romance and Ranting. I even modded there for a while with Jaina and Fizzbit.

Also, arumna, remember our five-man superstar tag team? You, me, Davogones, Kholdstare, and Trigaba? Man, those were the days (and other cheesy reminiscing lines).

Contro really hasn't been the same since the last time Alak or Korhend were here. There are several more Contro regulars I miss.
