Here's what I wanna know from the finale....

How'd the Tessalector do the Time Lord regeneration process?

Yeah, I was wondering that...

though relative death shouldn't mean much to a person who can jump back to any point in time and visit.

You'd think that, wouldn't you? In fact, you'd think having a time machine would fix just about any problems he runs into. "A cyberman ship that crashed here centuries ago has reactivated because the council laid down some new wires!"
"Why don't we use your time machine to go back a few months and petition the council not to do their roadworks here?"

The same way it did River Song's hair and the same way they made Rasputin green. Also, the Doctor was on board when this all happened so I imagine the Time Lord told them how to make it convincing.

And they used some Dry Ice to make that spooky pirate fog!

I believe they have established on a few occasions that once the Doctor has become a part of an events time stream he cannot alter it, although Moffat has broken that 'rule' on several occasions with his paradoxes.

I enjoyed the finally, I enjoyed the ideas, but I am sick of Moffat's tricks. I don't have issue with the plot, it's just the way he passes it to the audience. "And now here is the part of the scene we didn't show you earlier" - it cheats the audience and is getting to the point where it ticks me off. Just show the scenes in their entirety and let the audience try to beat you to the revelation before you tell them. Thats part of the fun and part of the suspense. Not "well, he's boned. Oh wait, turns out he was in absolutely no danger all along." I think thats the cause of the anti-climactic feeling that many seem to have had. Moffat tricks aside, I really liked a lot of it. The moment for the Brigadier, the cliffhanger question, the history all at once - lots to like. I just hope Moffat remembers what makes Doctor Who good, what it is that people like about his writing and not get carried away with trying to show the world how clever he is.

I don't really have anything to say, except the alternate world was cool.

Basically I want the Doctor to go Time Lording now what with the revelation of the question as well - the only convincing big bads for me need emotions and personality. Its why so far the Master is still my favourite villain and the return of the other Time Lords like wise a fave moment too. Earth is boring, Earth has been done. Get back to Gallifrey God damn it.

They did mention something about "The Fall of the Eleventh." I hope they don't kick Matt Smith off and force a regeneration by the end of next season, or even the one after that. I've grown pretty fond of him! Why not have one stick around for a while?

It would be nice to have him around for more than 3 seasons. I, too, like him. Much more than I thought I would.

I've really grown to like Matt Smith too, which I didn't think would happen after how much I enjoyed David Tennant. He does the crazy speeches really well, and my favourite Matt Smith moment is the end of his first season with "Now the question of the hour is, who has the Pandorica? I do! Next question - who's coming to take it from me?"

In the old Doctor Who lore it was strongly implied that the Doctor was one of the original 3 Galifreyans who invented time travel. If they reinvent that storyline then I expect we'll see Omega (one of the other original 3) make an appearance as an epic badass, and my theory at the moment is that Omega is actually the one behind the Silence and those strange alien creatures.

PRECISELY! there was also two shots from the astronaut in the original timeline, in the first episode of the season... consistency was no where to be seen... just saying

That... that'd be kinda awesome.

Bringing back the Master for Tennant... Omega for Matt Smith would be amazingly badass.

That would be cool!

But also somewhat logical. And we all know how the writers hate logic. The leader of the Silence is probably like... Evil Donna.

Nowadays they don't get kicked off, they leave. Smith'll go when he wants to foolishly do something else.

Omega would be awesome. But I'm having doubts the voice we heard after the Big Bang Two will be referenced again. Expecting normal viewers to remember that far back? Doesn't happen these days.

Long story short: Yates is going to direct a non-canon Dr. Who movie and I have the sinking feeling he is going to fuck it up royally.

Yeah, I've seen the Doctor Who movie a lot more on TV than the old series, in fact. Probably my first introduction to Doctor Who was the movie.

There is no mention in that article of Yates approaching the BBC to get the rights for the film, so I think it's rather wishful thinking on his part.

Yeah. Last year was much better, but it was still really good. The very very end bit, my favorite part.
