And timeline-wise, that's pretty difficult. If, and I do mean if, he returned to Hyrule, he would've had to settle into obscurity to keep from going down in time as a prince or king or whatever. Whether they're in love is questionable, but wheter they married is pretty definite for OoT.

Nobody is obsessed with finding out what happens to the Legendary Hero of LttP/LA after his awakening, do they? Even though the last time we saw him he was in a far more precarious position then OoT Link was at the end of MM.
We all accept that LttP Link is done, that he's saved Hyrule and Koholint, and we let him be, we assume he settles down and lives happily ever after, or whatever. Why can't people do the same with OoT Link?

But why? That doesn't really answer my question. Do you hate him or something? Do you want to keep it a mystery for yourself?OoT Link... no longer matters. His games are done. I never even want to see him referred to in a backstory again, let alone have another game with him.
That's a pretty general statement. If nobody was interested in finding out what happened to LttP/LA Link then why all the fanfics written about him? Granted, he's probably not as popular as OoT Link, but he does have his fans.Nobody is obsessed with finding out what happens to the Legendary Hero of LttP/LA after his awakening, do they? Even though the last time we saw him he was in a far more precarious position then OoT Link was at the end of MM.
Again, another general statement. How do you know people haven't accepted it? And for that matter how do you know people didn't just give up wondering what happened to him? For all we know Four Swords Adv. Link could be LttP/LA Link. I don't think so but if others want to indulge in that theory then why not?We all accept that LttP Link is done, that he's saved Hyrule and Koholint, and we let him be, we assume he settles down and lives happily ever after, or whatever. As for your question about why people can't let go of OoT Link I have a theory on that: Consider the games of old. Metroid, Super Mario Bros, even Zelda didn't really have much story going on while playing. Sure they had a backstory leading up to the game but as far as gameplay went it was pretty barren. The only exception to this I think would be the old Final Fantasy Games. But I digress. Games have changed and story has become more vital to the playing experience. We now have an entire generation of gamers who were brought up on nothing but OoT Zelda, Metroid Prime and Final Fantasy X with their complex and often times confusing storylines. So, with this new generation who expects so much story from the games they play is it any wonder they want to know what happened to OoT Link?

I would sure like to find out what happens to him. He was my favourite Link and the new one looks a lot like him (except with chainmail).

Yes, yes, I know why many people like him - OoT was their first is the real reason for most of them, regardless of what they may claim - but that doesn't mean I understand their preference for him.

I've been a regular member at somewhere around 20 Zelda forums over the last three or so years, though never more then 12 or so at once. If it were a regularly discussed, wodnered about thing, I would know. Perhaps it's arrogant of me to think this, but I think I'm immersed in the Zelda communtiy enough to have a feel for the general trends. And wondering about the fate of LttP Link is not a trend, outside of the indepth storyline discussions

Just like wondering about OoT Link is something that a huge number of people do.

Same with Ganondorf, I still love Ganondorf more then Ganon himself. I think fighting against a human is cooler then to fight with an evil monster. Because humans have more thoughts then just being evil!
It's just that Oot Link and Zelda kicks-ass! And I know I need to realise them out of my idea!

Oh well COME ON LINK FROM ZELDA 2005!! YOU GOTTA ROCK OOT LINK'S ASS!!!

Man he's way hotter then Oot Link... ._. but the poor guy's has wuzzy legs again.. <3 I love Link's legs in Oot!
