Where's the connection?
The head? No.
The body? No.
Seriously, what's the similarity? The Master Sword connection I sort of get, but this I just don't understand at all.

Actually the Master Sword connection I don't see at all. Even if she does turn into a weapon, why does it have to be the Master Sword? The Master Sword is only relevant if Ganondorf is around.

As for the similarities. The face is similar, her cape folds around her like wings, and she has that long neck. That said, I doubt the similarity means anything, since it's just similarities in art style. I think the only significant resemblance is the Great Fairy one.

How is the face similar? The nose might be the same sort of shape, but the eyes, mouth and hair and everything else is completely different. The fairy's cape might fold around her like wings, but Ooccoo's wings don't fold around her. Ooccoo resembles a chicken; there's no similarity there. And the fairy has a long neck? Nowhere near as long as Ooccoo's neck.

Sorry, I'm not convinced.

Now replace all the instances of Ooccoo with Master Sword.

If you actually read my posts, I'm just as skeptical of the Master Sword connection as the Ooccoo connection. The only reason I mentioned it is because I can see the fairy looking vaguely like a weapon, and I can see how people would create the Master Sword connection from that. I can't see how anyone could create an Ooccoo connection.

I guess I can see a sword there, but...Master Sword?

But wait! She has a jewel! the same shape as the one on the Master Sword!

I'm sorry, but no. I'm not buying the Master Sword bit.

Although I don't think she'll be the sword itself, she'll definitely have something to do with it. The thing that sold me was her legging, it was the same design and color scheme as the hilt of the Master Sword.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure I understand the connection between her and the Master Sword at all. I understand a sword, but why the Master Sword?

And I'm not sure if it's just that I'm running on no sleep, but if you look at her quickly, she reminds me of Prince Ralis.

She does have a sort of Zora thing going, yes.

People see a Master Sword connection because Miyamoto said the lack of a sword in the artwork was significant. Because he's gone on about how he wants Wii Motion+ to be used in sword fighting, we can't say that there won't be a sword in the game. Because the blue girl looks like the Sword, people made the connection. And living swords are hardly a novel concept in mythology.
This is different from those "MINDA IZ T3H MAZTUR SORD!" topics that got thrown around before TP came out.

Even if she IS a weapon, why would it be the Master Sword? It's never been associated to randomly turning into Fairy Queen lookalikes. The Master Sword is only relevant when Ganondorf is around. A sword with new powers inherent to it is usually given a different name. The Four Sword, the Phantom Sword, and what have you. Given the appearance of the girl, it would make more sense for her to be the Great Fairy Sword from Majora's Mask (or it's Hyrulian counterpart).

Is there even anything left to discuss about the possible implications of the game? Link is right handed, isn't holding a sword (which is apparently significant), and the girl looks like the Great Fairy/Master Sword/Ooccoo/Darth Vader. I think that about covers it.

While I can see the connection between the Mastersword and the blue girl, Masa brings up a valid point. Why would the mastersword, which has had long history in the series, suddenly turn into a girl? Just for the hell of it? Most likely that's what might happen. Link goes to pull the Mastersword but for some reason it turns into a great fairy queen. No explanation is given. It just happens and she goes back to being a sword by the end of the game.

Anyone think this might be a result of Ganon (or I hope a new villain) cursing the Mastersword to keep Link from thwarted him once again. It could present a moral dilemma for the players, revert the Mastersword back to it's original state and save Hyrule and wind up killing the girl in the process. Or spare her and go without the Sword of Evil's Bane.

I hope it's not like the moral dilemma in Four Swords Adventures.

"Pull the Four Sword and release Vaati to save Princess Zelda, or just be stuck in the same room for the rest of forever."

Maybe a Great Fairy sacrificed herself and her powers to make the evil-slaying sword in the first place, ages ago? And something happens in this game to 'restore' her. :P

People on pother forums are already suggesting this game could be the origin story for the mastersword. I think that's just silly but hey, if they do a good enough job making it compelling...

Maybe a spell is cast on the Master Sword turning it into a...whatever she is. Or it's put through some sort of reconstitution process similar to that in the movie, The Fifth Element.

I think the legs are the blade, instead of the head. That makes more sense to me.
