I still don't really get where Sharpy's comment about white people being able to make sushi came from though, or why it was directed at me. o_O

Is this "Chinese Buffet" like the Angel Chef we have in town? (They do serve sushi, mostly Chinese food, and some western food...)

Leo.... xD you're adorable.
Yay.

It was confusing because we don't really have sushi buffets here (at least not that I've seen). What we have are gajillions and gajillions of Chinese buffets that serve sushi and pizza.
On the contrary, there are tons of sushi buffets up in Canada. The ones in my town are relatively new, but there have been some in Toronto around for awhile now.
One thing I don't like about Chinese buffets is that they're mostly westernized, in comparison to the family-owned restaurants with only Chinese food; hence the pizza present in the former. It's still good stuff, though.

Here's the one I usually go to: http://www.nov8sushi.com/. Good service and amazing food, especially the spicy salmon and tuna rolls.

"Anyone" wouldn't assume I meant a strictly sushi buffet... because most places around here don't even HAVE those. XD The only kind of buffet you can get sushi at around here is a buffet that serves Chinese food.I'm with Leo; wisp's post clearly refers to nothing but sushi and buffets. Anyone would assume she meant a buffet specialising in sushi. So why would they even have pizza at it? And where on earth do the Chinese come into it, since they're not known for sushi or buffets? (Though, apparently you know them for their buffets.)

Jesus people... I already had a headache and the last two pages have just made it twice as bad.

We sit down and take plates off the tracks as they move around the benches. Or we can specially order from a menu if it's not on the "train".

That is epic system right there; do they come around and refill the trays regularly?

I am obsessed about going to an Indian buffet some time but they seem quite rare even in "WE'RE MOTHERING MULTICULTURE AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT" Leicester. The sushi conveyor belt is also a must, mainly based on the novelty of it as the little sushi I've had I was indifferent to.

I've been treating it the past few days, so 99% of the swelling is now gone. And those aren't just shadows beneath my brow, it's actually quite black up under there.

They suck, and you can't get past the various things people like to say to people with black eyes.
I imagine its all very dry humour in the UK, wherein Canada they offer to give you another black eye.

Due to the head of my reenactment soc. loving Chinese all you can eat buffets I am now acquainted with most in Leicester and a fair few in other random places around the UK (ie Cambridge). They don't tend to be that authentic from what I can tell (chips and onion rings, but no pizza) and are rather "fusiony", the best one has a chef doing teriyaki grill of whatever you want and a chocolate fountain+ice cream machine (possibly worth the £10).
That sounds like the buffet we have in Gloucester (complete with Teriyaki grill and chocolate fountain). They do do a great takeaway, though; as much food as you can cram in one tupperware box plus as much rice/noodles you can get in another one plus a drink for a fiver or so.
We don't have Indian buffets per se, but we do have a lot of sit down all you can eat Indians, where they take your order and serve you three or four dishes at a time, then once you've finished them you can order another lot of three or four (plus all the naan bread and poppadoms and so on) until you get full up. There are a few Chinese places with the exact same scheme, too.
