While it wasn't exactly the Axe, which he used...once, it's definitely meant to be a reference.

That's why I loved it, cos that was the coolest thing I always liked about Prime.

And I'm with arunma to a degree. They spent far too much time building up relationships between the Transformers and the humans and less time on the history and the relationships between the Decepticons and Autobots. Although the two main male characters have reportedly signed on for two more movies, so it's not SO bad.

That's a relief. Thing I always worry about is that you get human characters in these kind of movies and they'll do a sequel, but without the originals.

I betcha the sequel will elaborate more on the relationship between the Autobots and Decepticons though. They won't have to spend an hour waiting to actually show you Optimus Prime this time.

I saw it. I had a pounding headache and just about died, but I saw it. And... while it was definetly good and worth seeing, it's a bit overrated imo. Can't really list what I disliked about it, but it wasn't the best movie of all time ever omg omg go see it now it's like sex but with giant alien robots. The final fight scene went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Fighting is good. Visually, it looked great. But I kinda got bored with it.

Maybe it's because I never watched Transformers... *shrug* Please don't hurt me.

(Btw, that trailer for the unnamed movie coming out in January was awesome.)

Lunch comes before Lynch, here, so I can't really do it right now.

I'm seeing this on Tuesday, then I'm staying to see the midnight showing of Potter 5.

Hopefully Transformers wont be as good as to make me dissapointed in Potter, but that might be impossible since Order of the Phoenix was my favorite book.

So why haven't we lynched 15 yet?

Because you all agree with him? At least a little?

I mean, other than DJ, I've only seen people saying 'yeah, I liked it' without giving a reason. Which is what people said about Spiderman 3 and Pirates 3 and both of them were meh (Spiderman 3 moreso, due to lack of humour and the terrible 'emo' sequence that was so misjudged I wanted to gouge out my eyeballs and pull off my ears).

I get the feeling Transformers might be better, but that's not exactly saying a great deal. And having to wait like an hour for Optimus to make an appearance... That doesn't sound good.

It's not out over here yet, as far as I'm aware. Probably came out yesterday maybe.

Transformers was an intensely amazing film. The humor was great (only one or two jokes were unneeded/inappropriate), the visuals were incredible, and the action and plot were played out perfectly. I honestly can't see how anybody can dislike it unless they purely dislike Transformers or action movies.

I loved Transformers because of the humor. I think the humor was perfect. If it didn't have it, the movie might too serious. It didn't really deviate from what I know transformers to be except it was all about the all spark and not energon. I was dissapointed I never heard the original theme anywhere, but the transformers were really close to what I remember them to be.

Nah, don't feel bad. Transformers is a bit before your time. Heck, it's slightly before my time (and I'm 23), I had to watch the reruns of G1.

I don't think anybody's complaining about the presence of humor. Some just think there was too much or that some of the jokes were poorly-executed or forced.

Wiat, what? We're roughly the same age - if anything, you're older - but I fit in just fine with the Transformers age. Hell, I can genuinely attest that I don't remember ever not being a fan of G1. Taking it one step further, my very first movie/tv/entertainment related memory is watching the movie in theatres when I was little and crying when Prime died - for me to feel that emotion, I obviously had to have seen it prior to that movie to care. So....I guess I've literally been a lifelong fan. Which is kinda creepy. o_o

...eh, oh well. :prime:

...and clearly, I don't agree with 15, this was the most entertaining, best movie I've seen all year. Even so, I'm not going to (physically) abuse someone for disagreeing. The only person I'd hurt are my fellow TransFans who say that, because I love the movie, I'm not a real fan.

Clearly, that's not true, as anyone here on LA who's known me long enough will acknowledge.

I...really wanted to see that idiot from Sector 7 get his butt kicked and force him out of the film early (he was more annoying than amusing, and not even in a good villain way- more just...part of an unnecessary plot piece), but the rest of the humans were fairly alright.

Spoiler : click to show/hide
...especially the one who Megatron flicks like a bug near the end and calls a maggot. ^^

Funny you said that.

[BTW, hey all I'm a newbie!]

I came across this one review for the movie and it sounds awful. I was going to watch it but after reading some of the reviews I kinda got scared.
From what i can make the movie is great for special effects but the storyline is a real stinker (I've red this on several sites)

Check out the review this guy gave the movie at www.yms.ca He looks like he loves the show. I might check it out myself (hell its only $9 to watch a movie) so if it blows then at least i got an outing out of it.

But at least i'll have somtehing to look forward to on july 27! the simpsons movie will come out then!

WOO-HOO!!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmm movie.

That guy's review was so full of shit. He claims it sucked ass because of a few unimportant differences between the cartoon and the movie. Oh no, Prime says "Autobots, roll out!" instead of "Autobots, transform and roll out!" How dare they change that line!! And how DARE they be unable to get the original voice actor for Megatron! THE FLAMES ON OPTIMUS PRIME DON'T BELONG THERE!!!111 ARHRHGH RAGE RAGE

The only semi-valid points that douchebag made were all the lame corporate plugs, like eBay. But just because the director wanted to put the movie in a realistic setting with real references to our culture doesn't mean he "sold out." Seriously, how do you expect to have a movie full of vehicles without showing the brand name?

Hey, Yousaf M. Shaikh. Kill yourself.

how does me talking to a hustle-man off the street constitute violation of rule 10? That specifically designates DOWNLOADABLE links. Like things OTHERS might be able to find? Unless I'm giving mapquest directions to where he is or am offering to burn it myself, I don't see the problem...

Yeah, granted, it was Flint's post that was a true violation. Try not to flaunt that you own pirated material, though.

On a side note, I decided to take a look into the Transformers fandom on the internet just to see how crazy it can be.
Never, ever look into it.

On another side note, I've heard lots of positive things about the movie from friends, as well as plenty of spoilers.
Spoiler : click to show/hide
For example, how Starscream is seen zooming by during the bonus scene in the credits. Talk about promising the fans a sequal; definitely a good thing for fans, I suppose. Based on what DJ said earlier, a heavier focus on Starscream could be cool.

Ooh. That's a tough call and without those cool points, Splash is going to have to work extra hard in the second half of the game to bring it back to town.
