Well, I like that. Did you watch the episodes in release/weird order Delphi?
I've been reading all the light novel translations as well. Volume 9 just came out.

Release order first then I'll go and do it the "right" way. Someone told me that it ends better if you watch it the way it was released. And I suppose it counts as obscure because the only place I've seen people talking about it so far is on the Sakuracon message board.
It does - release order builds up to a climax, whereas chronological order has quite a dull episode at the end, I think... (Someday in the Rain). Kyon and Haruhi argue about which episode is next after each one, Kyon going by release order and Haruhi by chronological.

Princess Tutu for the win. I still don't know what the holy batfuck to make of that show, it was so convulted.
Isn't that the shojo Anime where the main character transforms into a ballet dancer to save the day?

Really awesome show. Plus my sister was in ballet when she was little, so it was something we could watch together.

Other than that, if you consider Wolf's Rain obscure now, I'd say that's my favorite. That's actually a major contender for my favorite anime ever.

Azumanga Daioh was good. Any anime with a cast of 6 girls as the main characters and yet lacks fan service must have something else to it, right? It was funny, a nice kind of funny.

Genshiken : Sasahara Kanji is a college freshman who decides to join a student society to share his hidden thoughts on manga, anime and gaming.
When he first visited Genshiken, short for "Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyuu Kai" (Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture), his groundless pride was destroyed by the plotting of Madarame, a sophomore student in Genshiken, but he still couldn't admit that he is an otaku.
However, as he participates in society activities such as visiting dojin (private publishing) shops and anime festivals, and hangs out with other society members Kosaka (a hardcore otaku despite his extreme eccentricities and good looks), Kosaka’s girlfriend Kasuga Saki (who isn’t really an otaku), Ohno (a cosplayer) and the others, he opens his mind and resolves that he will make his way into the otaku world. With their help, Sasahara slowly adjusts to otaku life in Genshiken.

Watch the second movie then. The first's a recap of the series, then the second's the final four episodes that Tomino intended to have end the show. It's still a very chilling ending, and some of the content's pretty disturbing, particularly some of the deaths.
But you may already know this.
I saw all that, but I was wishing for more either way. I mean the whole "Oh hey, I'm some sort of weird divine being" thing came right out of left field.

Wolf, ever see Ideon? Specifically, the series? That's an ending that'll piss you off bad.
Nope never even heard of it.
