Male or female, Greco-Roman or Micronesian, god of death or god of wine...in the end, who tops the cake for you for the coolest mythological figure or diety who you just can't get enough of in the stories? XP

Zeus.

Zeus = Sleeps with anything. Whether it be a inanimate object or some other guy's wife, he's there.

And Athena coming out of his head? It just doesn't get any better.

Personally though my favourite is FSM.

Zeus will go so far as to disguise himself as a swan to get some sex. I would say a sawn beats a horse as sawns aren't even mammals. Loki's not technically a god anyway.

While most of the male Greek gods are outright sexy, I'm going to have to go with FSM.

Okay, here's where I'm confused; there is a God and Goddess of War, and I think they both are named Ares. This can't be right... oh, and it's Greek mythology, I think. I'm talking about the Male Ares, not the female one.

Although I could've just been horribly screwed up due to watching a show on Teletoon for too long (flipped the channel there by accident), which portrays a female Goddess of War.

- Ares is the god of aggressive war, but is ultimately a coward when faced with any challenge directly. Athena is the goddess of battle and defensive war, while having a vastly superior intellect (and.. vanity, but they all have that) and far greater courage. She was always my favorite Greek war deity.

My favorite overall god would either have to be Enki, the god of wisdom; Ishtar/Inanna, the goddess of war and lust; or Ninhursag, the feisty goddess of earth. All from Sumerian mythology. Or Mesopotamian mythology in general, really. Mesopotamian was like Greek/Roman myths. Just name conversions for the most part.

Hmmm, yes, Athena definatly would be my favourite diety. Can't beat someone great in battle, and Goddess of wisdom too; by all rights she should be Zeus's better and at least is his military equal. Good with the weaving too, must be useful when someone tears a toga.

Heh. Sorry Kitten, Prometheus was technically a Titan, not a god. My favorite god would have to be Tulkas. But he's from a book, sooo . . . erm . . . probably Hercules. Even though he only became a god after death.

My faves? Well, c'mon. Loki, Loki, Loki. Sexy, mischievous, able to change his form at a moment's notice, loved sex, enjoyed seeing how much trouble he could get into and still manage to slip right out of again, but he still had his gentle side as the god of the hearth- willing to protect humble housewives if they only asked. Was he a god or actually born from the giants? That's disputable.

Often pictured with flaming red hair and an evil grin, he and his children (all of whom I also love) Hel: apathetic half amazingly beautiful/half putrid and rotting goddess of the underworld, Fenrir the giant wolf, and Jörmungandr the Midgard Serpent who can wrap himself around the world will join together with his giantess wife Angrboda and her kinsmen to fight in the final battle at the end of the world, Ragnarok, against the gods in search of total domination and revenge for the suffering the Aesir and Vanir have brought him!

I love Ishtar because she's violent and doesn't take crap from people. Like banishing her no good husband to hell because he only married her for power. And unlike FREYA, she doesn't sell herself to four dwarves/hobbits for a shiny necklace.
