I'm talking about the ones that go "God doesn't exist", "it's all bullshit", "your God is terrible" and then go "well....why aren't I going to heaven then?"

The last question is usually an argument against God. It's usually a part of the "God isn't just" argument used to discredit belief in him. People who don't believe in the Christian God and then ask the last question, usually don't believe in Heaven either.

Like I said: why, then, do they bother asking?

Well, I've only ever seen it asked in debates, so it's more a debating technique than anything else. I personally ask it just to get people to think and debate. I'm not sure if I did it here, but I asked a similar question some time ago just to get people to debate over the issue and think about it.

Just depends on whether you find the ideals or the specific god the more important element.

Is it important that anyone needs to worship the same god in order for their beliefs to be equally valid?

My brother doesnt know if he worships god. He says even though some things dont make sence, he still calls himself a christian.I dont know...I dont call myself a christian cause how do you know theres a heaven, and how do you know theres a hell. Some people that i talk to, usually cant answer that.

You can't know. They're fundamentally supernatural concepts, beyond the realm of knowledge. That's why it's called faith. It's also why people have different belief systems. If you could know, there'd be an unquestionable right answer.

There isn't.

Well, there is. You gotta make a great sacrifice to know, though. And you can't tell anyone about it after.

You only know if there's an afterlife, and even then only if that afterlife allows for knowing it's an afterlife. That's not a guarantee even if there is a god.

Ok, how about this one. What if, life on earth was some sort of jail or penal colony. I mean, most people one earth will have some sort of gripe about how life sucks and there is so much suffering in the world. So, what if life on earth as we know it is some sort of punishment for crimes we commited in our life before this one. And the life we live here is our sentance. Some crimes are worse than others so their lives are worse. And the reason we can't remember anything about our crime is because it would help us better reform if we didn't spend our entire sentence wishing we weren't caught or something to that effect. Instead at the end, when we are freed and then we go, "oh yeah, I remeber now, I guess I shouldn't have done that." It does make a little sense doesn't it?
