Scatterlings, by Isobelle Carmody. It's about a girl who wakes up in a forest (in what she takes to be a crashed ambulance) with no memories of her previous life except for some voices in her head which talk to her. She finds that herself in a world completely different to what she used to know, but with eerie similarities, such as a city that has clearly been in ruins for centuries that she nonetheless recognizes from when it was whole.

Briar Rose, by Jane Yolen.

Its a story about one's persons quest to find the roots of her grandmother, who was a Jew being under persecution by Nazi Germany in WWII

I also read Don Quijote some weeks ago. It's highly recommendable :)
Now I got back to finishing the third LotR, which I had paused and laid aside a long time ago.

My cousin's fairy tale book, for sentimental reasons. I haven't laid eyes on it for a decade since I left for the U.S.

Yeah, Scarlet Letter's kind of obnoxious, but not as bad as The Awakening.

Reading The Great Gatsby right now. Sometimes it's boring to see people's lives fall apart, but I think this one is fun.

I love that book. I'm still reading "Reading Lolita in Tehran", but I also picked up "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" and the name of the author escapes me.
