It STILL appears, by the way, how can you say that LA is a direct secuel to ALttP as an absolute truth? Actually, it fits better after the Oracle games.

1.) LA close to the time ALTTP came out. Most Zelda games that come out in couples or around the same time as usually related sequel-wise. (LTTP '92; LA '93)

2.) Just read the backstory--it's clear they were referring to Ganon's defeat in LTTP--where he was killed:

Though you fulfilled the Hyrulian prophecy of the Legendary Hero and destroyed the evil tyrant Ganon, the land of Hyrule enjoyed only a precarious peace. "Who knows what threats may arise from Ganon's ashes?" the restless people murmured as they knitted their brow and shook their heads. Ever vigilant, you decided to journey away from Hyrule on a quest for enlightenment, in search of wisdom that would make you better able to withstand the next threat to your homeland....

Hmm....Wasn't LOZ/AOL the only game couple to actually show Ganon with ashes? LTTP just had him...dissapear....Could it be possible for LA to come after LOZ/AOL? (besides the fact that LTTP Link could wish for Enlightenment, or automatically receive it via the Triforce of Wisdom.)

Ganon also went down in a blaze of glory in LttP, so one could assume he was reduced to ashes then as well. Still I guess if one wanted to think that it could fit to LoZ/AoL that is there prefrence, but it isn't something that I would agree with. The Oracle series also had Link sailing on a boat, and Ganon was defeated in that game as well, but it really isn't where I would like to place LA after either.

I think placing LA after LttP makes the most sense, due to the Hyrulian prophecy (there was no other prophecy besides Zelda's in OoT but it wasn't really known as the Hyrulian prophecy), the same artwork, Link was known as the Legendary Hero in LttP, the games came out one after the other which was a comment made by Tri-Enforcer, and the nightmares that Link fought can all be found in LttP and LA, and no other Link in the Zelda series has fought the all of the forms that Dethl took up besides the LttP Link and the LA Link. For example look:

LoZ: Gel, Lanmola, Moldorm, and Ganon, but no Agahnim.

AoL: None are present.

LttP: Gel, Lanmola, Moldorm, Agahnim, and Ganon so all are present and accountable for.

LA: Gel, Moldorm, and Lanmolda, but no Agahnim and Ganon present except for in nightmare form.

OoT: Ganon is the only one present.

MM: None are present.

OoS/OoA: Ganon and perhaps maybe Agahnim as I have never heard of a confimed name for the wizard in the Dancing Dragon Dungeon, but stil none others are present.

FS: None are present.

FSA: Moldorm and Ganon are the only ones present.

TWW: None are present (considering that Ganondorf was only in his gerudo form and not his demonic form of Ganon, which is what the nightmare shapeshifts into)

TMC: Haven't played it yet.

Still if one considers that the last form of Dethl, is a shapeshifting form of Vaati, then it would throw this whole idea out of water, but I don't think that Dethl and Vaati are the same.

And aLttP is the game that refers to the Hyrulian prophecy of the Legendary Hero - there wasn't any prophercy of the Legendary Hero in LoZ/AoL. LoZ/AoL could ALSO just wish for enlightenment, as he also had the completed Triforce at the end of AoL.

EDIT: Also, they may not be refering to literal ashes in the LA quote, they could be refering to symbolic ashes, for example the ashes of his evil army.

It's called the "Prophecy of the Great Cataclysm", not the "Hyrulian prophecy of the Legendary Hero".

Very true my friend, but the Prophecy of the Great Cataclysm also mentions that the Legendary Hero will come. So I still see it as being symbolic to the hero in LttP.

Yes, but did Link travel to a far away land in ALttP? No, but he did in AoL.

In a long running battle, the leader of thieves fought his way past his followers in lust for the Golden Power. After vanquishing his own followers, the leader stood triumphant over the Triforce and grasped it with his blood stained hands. He heard a whispered voice "If thou hast a strong desire or dream, wish for it..." And in reply, the roaring laughter of the brigand leader echoed across time and space and even reached the far-off land of Hyrule.

That was just a little joke right there, but Link did travel to a far away place despite the similarities in landscape between Hyrule and the Golden Land/Dark World.

Getting back to the subject though, Link in the AoL did travel across the sea via a raft, but Link used an actual ship, not just a wooden little raft;). Not that it really matters, but I thought I would bring that up. Plus we just get to see the ending of the LttP Link, we do not know what he did afterwards, but I always assumed that after LA came out, that is where he ventured next, and it suits well with me.

well, again, i posted a timeline that kinda assumes that it's the same zelda from LOTZ cause the 2 zeldas story causes way too many problems. as for hyrule in zelda 1. i think that hyrule in AOL is to the north and is the "new hyrule" found by link in the windwaker, while the hyrule in LOTZ is the drained and destroyed "old hyrule" to the south which has yet to be repopulated and civilized.

LOTZ?...

Anyway as for the Zelda in question of saving in AOL isnt in fact the same Zelda from LOZ because it is stated that it is the Zelda of old, in which was stated in the AOL backstory printed in the manuel for it. It is because of her (as people have stated eariler) it is why every princess in Zelda is called Zelda.

Dude, just because AOL's backstory confuses you doesn't mean you can just CHANGE it to make your theory work, that's not how you make a timeline. you assess the problem and overcome it without writing fanfiction, which is what your entire storyline IS. There's two Zelda's in AOL. If you don't like it, tough.

It's Aghanim, it's confirmed in the strategy guides.

I think it depends, that can be canon if Nintendo of Japan says that he's Agahmin and if Nintendo of America gave the guide the name, of course it would be incredibly difficult to investigate, anyway, maybe The Silent Assassin or Zethar2 can help, thoguh.

No, I think it was Prima, but I might be wrong.

The Official Guide of Nintendo doesn't state his name, but I know many sites claim it is Agahnim, but I was just saying I have never seen anything official. He is similar to Agahnim, but I am not sure if it is him. Still even if it was, the full list of Dethl's transformations are not in OoS/OoA.
