Do Gorons have genders? If you look in zelda games, all gorons looks to are male. Are they unisex? If they are, how they reproduce? That's my question. I'm puzzled.

I think they're all male. If we ever get to see a female goron, I'm sure she would like have a bow or something.

Wasn't there a female Goron in MM? The one frozen in ice?

No, it's not a female.

The elder simply has long hair.

There is female gorons in OoT manga, but it is not really canonical.

This of course leads us to the question, are they even mammals? Can they, like frogs, change their gender? Do they lay eggs? Perhaps they just pop out of the ground in squeling little bundles...

The Goron in TP had on a loincloth, and the WW Gorons had shirts. Perhaps now that people are used to the idea of them wearing clothes, we may see lady Gorons rolling around in dresses. *eye twitch* maybe it's better that we haven't met any female Gorons.

Perhaps female gorons are more fragile, and have died off by the time Link shows up in OoT, MM, and WW? Or maybe the Gorons are uber-protective of them, and they keep out of sight. Maybe female gorons are something totally different than male gorons, and we just haven't realized what we were looking at.

Or, most likely of all, the designers just ran out of time, and only made two Goron models for OoT, five for MM (one of which doesn't really count, cause he's dead), and one model with assorted shirts for WW.

The elder in MM seemed pretty female to me.. but once you're that old, the genders start to blur together, don't they? Heh. Either way, they definitely have hair, breasts, and fingernails, so they're related somehow to humans..

They're a humanoid race anyway, not considered "monsters" or "beasts," so they probably reproduce the same good old way we do. But I don't know, I think Nintendo just used one model for the Gorons because they're cheapskates. I was going to say I thought it was because they didn't want to show cleavage, but...there's always the Great Fairy, so I guess not. O.O

Despite his appearence, the Goron elder is a guy.

Ahh, Darmani, where's my daddy? Where's my daddy?

As I thought.

But if the elder is a daddy, that mean there is a mom somewhere!

That's what I'm thinking.

They have nipples, therefore they have or once had mammary glands, therefore they must be mammals. If they were truly all male they wouldn't have mammary glands or nipples since all mammals are concieved as female until a gene activates later on that makes some mammals male while still being developed in the mother's womb. That's why dudes have nipples even though they're pretty useless.

I thought the Elder was a chick too.

I must be weird. I never did. I thought he just looked REALLY ancient...and frozened.

Maybe the female Gorons look just like the males, like dwarves. (Which they are rather similar to in the first place,) and they're all androgynous...O.O

THANK YOU. I've been wondering why guys have nipples! :O

But I'm like Husse with thinking the elder was male the whole time... Though them all being androgynous is a bit of a strech. Maybe they keep the females hidden in a secret room or something a never let them come out... How mean. ;_;

Gorons are mammals so they would need females in order to reproduce. I think the reason that all the gorons have been male is that the game creators were lazy and made all the gorons identical.

Keep in mind that most mammals' breasts don't develop until they're lactating, and shrink again when they're done. Any of those small-breasted gorons could be females that just aren't feeding any babies.. but they're definitely odd. Darunia and Darmani have facial hair, but the goron elder doesn't (that's probably why I thought he was female).. so either way.. goron sexual characteristics are inconsistent and ambiguous at best.

EDIT: wait a minute, is that a beard on the elder that I had confused for a hank of hair? Well, there you go then. Come to think of it, I KNOW I've seen goatees on other gorons.. hmm..
Well, if Gerudos can be all-female, Gorons can be all-male..

That's it. And all hundred years, there's a female goron.

All gorons have a beard.

And how they reproduce?

No, it is possible for females to reproduce without males, but it is not possible for males to reproduce with out females.
