I think I have found the best way to spark life back into the Anime section of LA. A discussion on its most controversal side: Hentai. Also known as H Anime in Japan, Hentai is pornagraphic Anime. Some people like it, some people don't. All I want to know is your stance on Hentai. Do you find it sick, preverted scum, or are you more open minded towards it? Do you even think it is better and less corny than real porn? Post your opinon on Hentai, Ecchi, Yuri, and Yaoi right in this thread.

i don't mind it.. i think it's alittle more disturbing since things can happen that can't actually in real life (a few bible black episodes come to mind) but well drawn "softcore" hentai is pretty good

I was playing this game on Newgrounds and I accidentally stumbled across it because it just kind of all the sudden showed up and the next thing I know they're going at it like bunnies. *cough* Anyway, whatever gets you off, gets you off. No point in holding it against someone.

Actually, in Japan, all hentai and real porn are censored by law. I'm unsure exactly how the hentai that is available uncensored becomes that way, but in Japan it has to be censored.

And though I can accept people saying they aren't interested in hentai because it's animated and not real, I honestly cannot fully believe any person saying it "disgusts" them when they have no problem saying an anime girl is cute or even attractive. There's nothing shameful about it and in my opinion saying such things is narrow-minded.

Oh, and I also hate how people automatically associate hentai with tentacles. Such things only make up a small fraction of the genre.

Often I actually tend to prefer hentai over some real stuff. Especially ecchi. I love ecchi, which is basically soft-core stuff. Real porn is really raunchy and just plain filthty at times. Hentai on the other hand has the added factor of cuteness and fantasy. I'd much rather look at a a picture of an anime girl in a seductive pose/outfit over your run-of-the-mill boring glamour shot of some hollywood bimbo.

And anooooother thing (this is like my fifth time editing this post).. accusing people who watch and enjoy hentai of being sad, pathetic losers who "can't get a girlfriend", etc etc.. is just plain stupid. That's all I have to say about that.

Well, I unfortunatly screwed up the poll a little. I also meant to put a Like Hentai more that real option, which is my opinion on the matter, but then I accidently posted.

My opinion of Hentai is pretty similar to Flints, except for the fact that my prefered H Anime type is Yuri. I think Hentai has a certain aspect that most real porn doesn't. Hentai first off is pure fantasy, so a person's imagination can go wild in genre without any consequences (which of course has led to some odd or some say grotesque things such Funtari or Guro). Also in Hentai, which I think very ironic because the characters are obviously fictional and animated, I think that characters seem to have more emotions and personality than when you watch some of the real porn nowadays. Perhaps it is the fact the only reason that they are doing it is that they are getting paid.

I know Hentai isn't exactly the most socially accepted thing. Many people at school (all the non-Anime fans) always have had the same reaction when they have for some reason have found out I look Hentai. I know some fellow Otaku dislike Hentai too, perhaps view it as scar on the face Anime. Yet I personally am still drawn to Hentai. Yes real women are better (and by real women, I don't mean the ones in real porn. I mean the average girl in real life), but I still love Hentai. I personally don't care if you think I'm a guy who will never get a girfriend, I'll still like it.

Also I'd like to corroborate some of the things Flint said. First off, a lot of Hentai (but not nearly all) is censored due to Japanese law. Usually, the censoring is down below and done by very small black bars (which only cover part of the genatalia) or pixils. Additonally, tentacle rape is a very low percentage of Hentai which can only be easily found on 4chan's /d/ board (if you want to dare go in).

I accidently watched an episode of a show my brother likes that was like..complete Hentai it was the last episode of the show and the rest of the show wasnt exactly Hentai..and it just disgusted me..just like real porn. I know that anime and such is a huge cultural thing in Japan so for them..it is just another genre of porn that makes sense. But all and all..it distrubs me as much as real porn

I would vote by my choice isn't there.

I actually prefer it to a lot of real porn, because you can get some just really plain NASTY stuff when it comes to internet porn. Ok, you get similarly nasty stuff with hentai, but it's easier to avoid and there's a distinct lack of cute guys and girls involved in porn (for obvious reasons, they tend to be really skanky), while hentai is *filled* with them.

Good luck finding a genuinely cute guy with longish hair in real porn, for example.

Me, I just like the tasteful stuff mostly. But whatever it is, as long as it's well drawn I'll usually appreciate it. I hate the crap stuff. But I also hate the really nasty stuff. Like 'guro'.

Don't actually mind tentacles though, as long as it's, like, consenting.
