I got a new, spiffy, photoshop'd banner! Tell me what you guys think.

Thanks! But I really must confess I didn't make it. It was a friend of mine, but I like to think I did!

But still tell me what you guys think. He told me to put it up here so I could tell him what people thought.

And plus: better you hear it from me then him coming in here and telling me what-for.

WOW! O.O That banner is incredibly good! The colors blend well, Samus actually looks good with a blue tint color to her, and the graphic effects in the background are neat and original. Another high point is the readable text, a thing that sometimes is hard to see in highly advanced banners such as this. Tell your friend that he is truly talented! If only I had photoshop, I could make something somewhat like that, lol.

You don't have PS, Nabooru? Do you use PSP or something? I can't get over how well done Samus is. I'm almost willing to believe he drew it and used Photoshop to colour it.

I need to get better at Photoshop. At one of the other forums I go to (The Sims' Resource), everyone knows how to make amazing clothing for their sims when all I can do is edit bits up a little and change textures, colours and add little things. -sigh- I need to practice PS more.

Well Zythe, he does run his own forums if you'd be interested in joining. But I'd have to PM you with it, as I don't think I'm allowed to advertise.

He's only been at it for this month, and we don't have many members yet. I'm sure he'd show you some tricks and stuff.

I use this program called PhotoImpact, which is way lower quality that PS. O.o How does everybody get PS anyway?

Photoshop CS2 (new one) sells on eBay for $25 (as opposed to $200). And since I'm replying to this thread, I'll save myself the effort and say Bunny, PM away, it can't hurt.

hehe, thank you Zythe. I wish my program was more graphic inclined, but oh well, I'll try my best with what I have. Basically, what I do is play around with the different color schemes and make effects with those colors, like additive, overlay, etc. Bunny, if your friend decides to join here, have him make a tutorial for all of us banner makers out there so we can learn from him.

Yes. Definitely! Maybe you should make a tutorial sticky where we can post tutorials with pictures for everyone? I know I'd constantly check a thread like that.

That's a great idea Zythe! When a member discovers cool effect on any program, he or she can post in a step by step format on how they achieved that effect! All members have the option of posting there when they found a technique they'd like to share to fellow LAers. I'd constantly check that thread as well, as I always need improvement. Let me tell Chikky of your idea.

Yes, I do. But He'll have to wait for one of the mods to quit, leave ooor *mumblediemumble*...But you didn't hear it from me.

Also, don't put all of your stuffs down. MOst of the stuff I've seen him do is all the same-ish type stuff. For example one of his Banners:

Yep, once I make that thread (probably tomorrow), you can transplant some of those photoshop tutorials into the thread. Thank you for contributing some instructions of your technique to LA, it is very appreciated.

Bunny, the other banner your friend made is as mind-blowing as the other one. He is simply awesome!

My mate has a banner that looks suspicioulsy like that Dark Elf one. BTW that Samus banners is really cool.

Hey Dark Elf, do you mind adding some tutorials to the GFX tutorial thread on the top of this forum? With your great skill in GFX, it would be nice to see how you made them like you did. Personally, I want to see how you did the fancy effects, such as the ones located next to Samus in the banner you made for Bunny and yourself.

One question.. For when you get back, or whatever... Do you create the textures from scratch, or is it a blending job of patterns you found?
