That would be kinda hard, because Malon is only a minor charecter and Aonuma-san has stated that Link has feelings for Zelda (and Zelda is a Faerie Tale Princess :P ):

CN: We have received several emails in which our readers ask: Will Zelda and Link ever be involved [romantically]? [laughs] I'm sorry, but we had to ask.

EA: [laughs] Good question. Well, as you already know, we are now dealing with a teenage Link, and as you know, teenagers are very emotional beings, so there are definitely possibilities of seeing Link showing his feelings towards the princess. But honestly, we don't know what the future holds.

Anyways, I'd like to see him being able to wield a spear, a lance, a curved blade and an axe, at least. He should also be able to wear a crossbow, which should be an upgraded bow, and a crossbow that can fire multiple arrows at once.

I'd also like to see the Magickal Boomerang, the Cane of Somaria, the Cane of Byrna and the Red and Blue Ring.

As for the main dungeons, there should be at least eight. They should be hard and full of original puzzles. The bosses should also be hard.

One of the main drawbacks in OoT (in most Zeldas, actually) is the lack of towns and villages. There should be many, like in AoL. They should have taverns, libraries, etc. I'd also love there to be Gold Skulltulas, yet more this time. There should also be Skulltula dungeons, like in MM, but because there already are Gold Skulltulas they could be called Silver Skulltulas.

There shouldn't just be one forest, mountain, desert, etc. Instead Hyrule should be vast and there should be several forests, swamps, deserts, mountains etc.

Last of all, you should be able to get... :tri:

Something that really REALLY bugged me about OoT was that you couldn't actually go INSIDE of the castle. That would have been SO cool. You know...looking around and exploring.

More towns and villages would be a big plus, as would harder bosses. Also, Ganon should be much harder. Like throw-the-controller-on-the-ground-while-screaming-profanities harder lol. :bowser:

I would love to see more romance between Link and Zelda as well.

Yeah, that reminds me, I would like to see more relistic towns, such as ClockTown and Windfall island, though you do wonder were some of the guys on Windfall sleep at night.

i personally think it would be fun if you could purchase armor... it would be most likely in a less common LoZ setting and more like Link fighting in a Hylian war or something though...

Well, there will be dungeons in the new LoZ. I don't think it will be all about a war. That fight in the video might be more like a boss fight outside of the dungeons, like the ghost attack at Romani Ranch in MM.

I would love it if one could explore the castle (and it should have a more original name than Hyrule Castle). It shouldn't be like a dungeon, but a bit more like a town. There should be a library, a Great Hall, a dining room, a kitchen, a servant room (where the servants sleep every night), a dungeon (there should even be some prisoners there, and what would be great is if there was one innocent prisoner and there should be a side-quest to prove his innocense), a wine cellar, a stable, guest rooms, the King's bedroom, Zelda's bedroom (which should be atop one of the towers), Impa's bedroom, an armoury room, a throne room, etc. Those were some examples. There should also be some side-quests within the castle and one should be able to talk to all that lives and works at the castle.

In Zelda'05 one shouldn't start with a chain mail. That should be a protection that's much like the Blue Ring in LoZ.

If the new game doesn't include a parry attack, I'll be dissappointed, that was one the best parts of the WW, I think it would be cool though to peform the parry attack on horseback, the horse rearing up at the last moment before getting hit, then alllowing gravity to do it's work, as hooves and sword slam down on a Moblin for example.

Erm... Hyrule Castle is a perfectly suitable name. In real life, you don't really get very fancy names for castles. They're usually named after the families or the place they're built on.

The Tower of London, is believe it or not, in London. Windsor Castle, is believe it or not, in Windsor.

Yeah, I guess that would be cool.

I was watching a documentary last night by Terry Gilliam (you know, the Monty Python guy who played Brian's mother in "Life of Brian"). He's apparently a medieval history buff and showed us what horses were trained to do in medieval times.

This guy got his horse to rear up and "kick box". That's right. In medieval times, they used their horses as weapons too. And they were trained meanly. They could go really fast and had the medieval equivalent of power brakes. That guy could nearly, literally stop the horse on a dime.

It would be cool if they took a look at medieval history and copied ideas from medieval history.

Horses are powerful weapons, in the RotK when the Rohan charge the orcs, I noticed mot of the casulties were cuased by the horses slamming into them and crushing them underhoof. I also hope Link can do stunts on horseback such as riding it standing up or even riding along side an enemy boar and jumping onto it and knocking the enemy rider off, this would allow you temporary control of the boar, which would be more powerful than the horse, but more difficult to control.

That's where I draw the line. We mustn't make it "like Lord of the Rings". The book is great, the movie I haven't seen because I absolutely refuse to watch Hollywood's interpretation (which is normally never faithful to the book and dumbed down and glitzified).

Legend of Zelda shoudl be like Legend of Zelda.

Seriously, you're crazy. Yeah, sure, it isn't 100% faithful to the books (not by a quite a bit), but it's still entertaining. I mean, yeah, love your books, and love the original content, but why not enjoy the movie? Treat the movies like I treat the FS games, as a travesty to what it comes from, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I agree that there should be a minimum of 8 dungeons. And that doesn't include the final Ganon's tower-type area. Also, I'd like to see some harder enemies. It wouldn't hurt for Link to lose more than a quarter of a heart each time he gets hit. I feel like some once-fearsome enemies have been dumbed down in more recent games. And I think it is TOO easy to get items. Or intead of putting an item in practically every single plant and pot, make Link kill more enemies to get the items. It sort of gives gamers the thrill of the risk - Link is down to his last half a heart, if he kills the enemy he may get some more life, but with such little health, he's going to have to be extremely cautious.

LoTR is not LoZ, and LoZ is not LoTR. Yes, they are both fantasy, and have a few things in common, but please, they are most definately different. I would be upset if LoZ turned into LoTR just to cash in on the hype. There are two things I am sick of: Obsessed Orlando Bloom fangirls swearing that Legolas should play Link, and obsessed LoTR fans who continually try and twist LoZ to make it fit LoTR. For example, "There's a BALROG in the new Zelda trailer." "The Kokiri are like Elves." "The Great Deku Tree could be an Ent." Makes me want to scream.

The Kokiri -are- elves, just not in the Tolkienesque sense. ^_^ that moniker fits Hylians better.
I think the games could use more magic, who's with me? Link should be freezin' stuff with his hands sometimes.. wai.

I'd have to go with harder puzzles, more dungeons, customizable appearences and different weapons & armour with different attributes. Those things are probably the most much needed ones.

Ganondorf better be in the game and I hope that they give some more background and history on him. I hope that the plot is as good as it was in WW or OoT. Lots of detail and effort should be put into making the plot, like the Baldur's Gate II games and Neverwinter Nights (personally, I think that BGII had the best plot of any video game I've ever played).
And it needs some romance between Link and Zelda.

I agree the game needs romance, but not with zelda. with MALON! or maybe someone new. or that witch from the oracles. or marin or romani or cremia. but not zelda.

^ I think there's a huge risk involved when giving Link a voice, and I think that's why he still hasn't been given one, even though they could. I mean, what accent would you want him to have? What if the voice was completely different from how you imagined? Imagine they gave adult Link a really high pitched or girly voice? It would be devastating.

Actually, ROTK is over three hours long, and that's with footage cut out. If you get the DVD set, you can see the whole thing, and i'm pretty sure that would have just about everything in the book.

They should give Link a voice and let everyone talk so you can hear it.

I would have to say no to this. As Lysia pointed out, what happens if it's nothing like you expected it to be? I would expect child link to have a small, shy voice. As for Adult Link, i would give him a confident, strong voice. But Miyamoto's vision might be different from mine. By not putting in a voice, they don't break people's expectations.

Luckily, we'd get whatever the localization team decided was more appropriate for Link's voice if indeed he gained one (though I doubt he will). We already have an idea of what his voice is, after all, he makes plenty of sounds. I don't think that a voice would ruin the game, and could potentially be really cool, but they could get crappy voice actors. We'll just have to trust the professionals to do their jobs.

Another thing I like to see in games is to know the names of all of the enemies. Either in the game itself (such as Navi telling you) or in the instruction manual. The Nintendo gallery is a good idea, but I would like to know the names of the enemies right away instead of doing the whole mini-quest thing.
