No gaming forum is complete without a Mega Man topic! xD

So here It is, talk about everything Mega Man here.

Let's start something simple, what's your favorite Mega Man game? and favorite Mega Man series? (Classic, X, Legend, Battle Network, Zero).

My favorite Mega Man classic game is Mega Man 4. Just simply because it is my first Mega Man game that got me into it. I would never have become a huge fan of it if it wasn't for Mega Man 4.
Favorite series is Classic and Battle Network.

Hope to see some Mega-fan out there in this board. ;)

My favorite games are Mega Man 3 and Mega Man X (1). Once MegaMan switched to playstation, it all went downhill.

My favorite Megaman game is Megaman 2. Favorite series are definitely Classic and X.

I agree that the Megaman franchise went downhill after hitting Playstation, but that was after 8 and X4, those were good games. It went downhill after that.

In my opinion, Battle Network is nothing but an excuse to get a "21st century cool" Mega Man.

Yay, grad to see some Mega-fan out there here. :P

Well, Mega Man didn't gone down hill for long.
Capcom began to push back the side scrolling element by releasing the Mega Man Zero series. Currently there are 2 Zero game and the 3rd one coming in October.

To tell the truth, the only time when I consider Mega Man went down hill is because of the disapointing X6 and X7. Classic is pretty much dead right now, the last sequel was Mega Man 8, and Mega Man & Bass isn't technically a sequel to Mega Man 8 either. It is like a side quest game featuring Mega Man and his rival Bass.

Battle Network on the other hand, is innovative but it isn't what you would expect from a Mega Man game. The idea of Battle Network is RPG combine with Pokemon elements. It gave Battle Network it own fanbase completely seperate from those other Mega Man series. I was kind of disapointed when I first play Battle Network, but then, I thought this would be first step toward a new Mega Man genre, a RPG genre. B)

I found Battle Network... okay, I didn't find it as enjoyable as Classic or X, which was more of a pick-up and play, which I really like.

I really just wish they'd come back to good old side scrolling in Megaman 9 and Megaman X8... but I'm dreaming...

Many people were confuse about Mega Man 9 and Mega Man & Bass.
Mega Man 9 haven't release yet. The one that you "think" is Mega Man 9 is Mega Man & Bass. Which isn't Mega Man 9.
And Mega Man & Bass isn't technically a sequel to Mega Man 8 either. It is like a side quest game featuring Mega Man and his rival Bass.

I didn't say that.. I said I wish they'd come back to good old side scrolling in Megaman 9 and Megaman X8

I own Rockman and Forte for the Super Famicom, I've beaten it and gotten all 100 CDs...

I meant that I wish that they'd make new sequels (i.e. Megaman 9 and X8 which haven't been made yet) and return to the old formula that was fun to play.

Ah, I see.

Well, eventually there is no hope for Mega Man 9.
But as for Mega Man X8, It is being made back into a side scrolling game, and plan to release this November. So keep your eye open for it. B)

Actually it came out a few weeks ago in Europe...

Seems since Capcom handed over MMZ over to a different company for the European distribution we get it earlier than the yankies.

Mega Man X: Command Mission?
It's the last idea I would ever thought of, but it is also the best thing ever happen to Mega Man X, of course! :P

Beside, a Mega Man X RPG going to be awesome!

I will probably give a full report when I recieve the game this Tuesday (North America release day).

X3 was fun+tough. Too many people shunned it for some reason.
I'll never understand.
Plus it's a great collector's SNES game, and the first time you could play as Zero.
120$ on eBay >_<

I have all X Games to date, except X2, which I've been keeping an eye out for, but I'm not going to buy it from eBay, for shure.

Fave Megaman one...hmm, probably 7 or 8.

Network=Garbage imo
MMZero:
Well, I being a huge Zero fan, havent actually got any games from this. o_o
When I get some cash for a spare game, I'll probably buy the first one...

Well NT Warrior series is actually very good uncut...

But the dubbed version is horrible since they not only made the voices unbearable and changed the soundtrack but they also cut out over 17 episodes nearly half of the series out!

It was complete butchering of the series.

See, I just worry that a MegaMan X RPG will be ntohing but a huge plot about X becoming increasingly emasculated.

Don't you remember? Dr. Light's primary change for the X-series was immidiate castration.

Well, we will have to wait and see.

I just hope the 3-D sidescroller work as smooth as the classic 2-D sprites
