Ok, all these rumours about the names for the upcoming Zelda game...how about we all come up with our own names, just for fun? Maybe give a little background on why you chose that name, and how it ties into the story. Just make it up. What do you want it to be?

And who knows, maybe some other site will pick it up and think it's real :P. I'll think of mine in a bit...I just woke up.

The Legend of Link.

Zelda doesn't do squat. she just sits in a dungeon being held hostage, this legend's about Link.

either that, or I'm sticking with The Legend of Zelda: Tentative Title.

There already was a Legend of Link game, called the Faces of Evil.

ゼルダの伝説: 黄金の力
Zelda no Densetsu: Ougon no Chikara
"The Legend of Zelda: The Golden Power"

Hyrule is in an age of decay---monsters run rampant. An older Link has joined the Hyrule's Royal Knights in an attempt to protect Princess Zelda, as the Royal Family attempts to guard the "The Golden Power" of the Triforce from the mobs of evil. (both people and demons) Princess Zelda decides that it's not worth the trouble to keep the Triforce in this world and she and the other Sages decide to seal it away. As they begin to use their magic, an army of demons is able to make there way into the city and castle and grab the Triforce. Hyrule is suddenly transformed in to the Dark World and Ganon is revived. To resuce Zelda and Hyrule, Link must have his own courage, wisdom, and power to defeat not only a fully powered Ganon, but the "Golden Power" of the Triforce itself.

Thrilling. He included a whole synopsis. Someone should hire him at Nintendo! :)

Maybe...Ride of Warriors?

And PLEASE let it be a sequel to OoT/MM!

No. Let it be a prequel to TMC. With Dethl as the "Big Bad".

A sequel to LttP would be delicious... And I don't mean like some Link's Awakening or Majora's Mask crap. I mean something important that's not a dream or alternate dimension.

It doesn't LOOK like the birth of a Hero, it looks like "Conquering of" or "Decay of" a kingdom.

And why would THIS be the birth of a hero. The tried and true Hero of Time has already been born.

TMC is just backstory which needs no more introduction. Let's go to the future this time, Miyamoto!

Unless it's a sequel to ALttP/LA, which would very much confuse me.

"Ok, he wakes up, island's gone, land is in turmoil, I'm confused, the Master Sword was NOT put to rest..."

And so on and so forth.

Zelda sequels are usually half-assed compared to their counterparts (LOZ>AOL, OOT>MM, TWW>FS etc.). A game this big is either a new chapter or a prequel.

Some people would argue with you on that OoT>MM thing. Not me, but some people. And you didn't mention that ALttP and LA are near equals in some viewpoints.

Then you can't argue that it isn't as good, now can you?

The character development/cutscenes, "fun" aspect was better treated there, but I still like OoT better. Let's not get into that, though.

Yeeaaah, given the warring pigs, lizards, and equestrian kickin' action, I'm gonna say that's not the topic.

How about: "War of an Age"?

"Return of a Prince"?

"King of Evil"?

"Demon's Cutlass"?

"Rein of Ages"?

You're right, this IS fun.

Hmm...
Legend of Zelda:

The Hooves of Gold
War of Courage
Days of Stength
The Golden Gates

That is pretty fun, but out of what I've made I think War of Courage sounds best.
Im really hoping this new game ties up some of the older games (NES, SNES), a sequal to TWW, or a new Link in general that helps us understand the storyline.

Well. Though it may seem strange, I figured it might be just The Legend of Zelda. But that has been thrown around a lot on the net and it is probbaly quite unlikely.

How about....

The Legend of Zelda: Sequel Six Years in the Making

seriously....well. I don't think Nintendo have shown us anything significant to the story from back at E3. And though horsie riding may be important for transportation it probably plays very little part in the main plot itself.

Think about it. When Wind Waker was fist revealed it was showed nothing of the sea or islands or boats or the Wind Waker itself. It was just a lot of cel-shaded videos. I expect this time we have also just been shown a whole lot of videos and no plot.

That said. I guess I could still think of some ideas for titles that aren't too specific. Though odds are it will actually be named after an item. It often is name after an item. (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker)

Actually thoguh....only Ocarina is definately under that rule. After all, Majora's Mask was actually the name of the big-o-evil bad guy and Wind Waker was what Link actually WAS. He was the Wind Waker. Well, that and the Hero of Winds.

Anyway.

lol.

Titles!

I like the idea of a war, so...

The Legend of Zelda: The War of Time
The Ledend of Zelda: The War of Ages

but no.

What is like Majora's mask it was named after an enemy...

The Legend of Zelda: Lord of Shadows (That was genuinely not inspired by the name of anyone in the forum. It just came to me.)
The Legend of Zelda: King of Evil
The Legend of Zelda: Knights of Chaos

or...after the Hero's title

The Legend of Zelda: Prince of Light
The Legend of Zelda: Hero's Legacy

or...something that throws back to the Wind Waker, and the idea of finding a new Hyrule.

The Legend of Zelda: Lost Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Time

I like Echoes of Time. Sounds similar to its TRUE predeccesor though.

Hmm...I've gone on for quite a bit here. Quite impressive for my first post on the forums. Well. Whatever, lol. Tis good to be in the forums

Legend of Zelda: The Guardian Hymn

When Mandrag Ganon was finally killed (end of TWW), the hero set off on a journey to a far off land, but the dark lord's true intentions had not yet been fully realized. Generations later, long after the seeds of the new Hyrule had grown over the remnants of the old, the dark power returned in spirit form and destroyed the three guardians: The guardian of the sky, Valoo, the guardian of the earth, the Great Deku Tree, and the guardian of the sea, Jabu Jabun. With the three mighty powers gone, the land of Hyrule went into an era of chaos even without the presence of the dark master. Only a few pockets of civilization remained throughout the land. It is said that if one were to collect the horn of the sky, the ocarina of the earth, and the harp of the sea, and play upon them the guardian hymn, that the guardians be resurected, and the balance of Hyrule restored. Alas, over time, the legend faded away...
Years later, a burst of darkness sprouts out from the center of Hyrule. The ancient darkness has broken the seal and is resurrecting itself. The only way to stop this vile being will be to collect the guardian instruments and resurrect their power with the Trifroce. Your journey awaits!

(Huh, that was pretty good for right off the top of my head)

Geez. I was all ready to scoff at Khuffie. What on earth made him think that he'd get a bunch of people posting interesting stuff, just by urging them too?

Seems I was wrong. Hmmph. ;)

Myself, I don't have the patience to try to come up with titles, especially since I know that I'll be wrong.

The reason I gave names of Ganon in my titles is I DESPERATELY wnat those pigs and lizards to be his troops in a war against Hyrule, or the new land after TWW.

I was SO happy when big, fat, Ganon was in TWW, evil, poetic, and nutty as a fruitcake, I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN!!!!!

But that's just me. And, because I am a shameless nitpick, S.o.L., Link was NOT called a Wind Waker ever. The Wind Waker was his tool. He was the Hero of Winds, and occasionally, this is where you got that idea, the (Young) Waker of the Winds.

I'm pretty sure somewhere in TWW someone says something like "So you're the new wind waker, huh?"

I think that would be the most ironic thing if it was indeed called Legend of Zelda: Lord of Shadow, as he does'nt want to post made up titles (That's alright though).
