So...what sort of virtues does it seem to have? Hilda implies its virtues are different from Hyrule's Triforce. My thoughts were that it had Caution, Focus, and Ambition, in correspondence to Courage, Wisdom, and Power, respectively.

Who's to say really? The Lorule Triforce is not really fleshed out all that much during the game's story. My idea is that it's the same (Courage, Wisdom and Power). Since their Triforce was destroyed, it helps make sense of the state Lorule is in as a polar opposite of Hyrule because the fundamental order of things is not present in this world.

Hilda very specifically regards Hyrule's Triforce as having virtues distinct from Lorule's, however, though they are probably similar.

Whatever those virtues were before, does it even matter? Did the wish restore Lorule's Triforce, or duplicate Hyrule's Triforce?

It would be pretty silly to duplicate Hyrule's. Also, that would set a dangerous precedent, being able to just copy Triforces all willy-nilly. That's like wishing for more wishes.

Wasn't every image of Lorule's Triforce purple in color? I beat the game awhile ago so I could be forgetting something, but even Hilda's staff with the Triforce motif. It's shown as purple and upside down. Yet when the Triforce is restored to their land it's golden and right side up.

Er, no. Hilda's staff has a golden, but inverted Triforce on it, and it's golden in a tapestry depicting its pre-destruction. It's only portrayed as blacked out throughout the game because it's dead.

I like to think they are the same virtues, only rotated anti-clockwise.

Yuga - courage to venture into an unknown world on a quest from his Princess

Hilda - power to save her world at the cost of another

Ravio - wisdom to get the fuck out of dodge.

Let us take the Kabbalah into account to solve this riddle.

And no, I have made up my mind about applying science to Zelda. I use it as I see fit. As long science gives us more concrete answers to the lore of Zelda than a unjustified "A wizard did it" explaination, I will stick to that. Also never underrestimate the possibility of Ascended Fanon.

By the way, you are theorising now, despite telling me a year ago that you don't do this.

*ckecks forum* Nevermind what I said, regarding theorising. I was wrong with my statement.

Thantos' link seems to be spot on on this. From what I can gather, it all makes sense to me.

My main issue with that theory is that tying one of the Lorule pieces to Kindness makes the Lorule's Triforce inherently biased towards good-hearted people in a way Hyrule's never was and never could be, making it a bit nonsensical that IT's the one that ended up being destroyed.

All of the Hyrule Triforce's traits and virtues are admirable and desirable, but also morally neutral. I think that's an important thing to maintain.

I'd like to think that it's Lorule's Triforce has beauty in place of power.  I'm not sure about the other two virtues though.
