Shadow Gallery are a progressive metal band from Pennsylvania. Formed in the 1980s, the name Shadow Gallery is taken from V for Vendetta. The band released their first album in 1992, and since then have released only five more albums, the newest, "Digital Ghosts". released in 2009. The lead singer for most of the albums died in 2008.
The sound of Shadow Gallery is compared to that of Dream Theater and Symphony X, and the members of the band appear in many different side projects..
Two of the albums, "Tyranny" and "Room V", follow a storyline about a man who developed weapons for the U.S. Government, who becomes aware of the damage his weapons does, then is fired for questioning his corporate leaders for trying to profit from war. The plot involves many political and conspiracy elements, such as government monitoring, the New World Order and weaponized smallpox.
