I'm hoping to gear my types towards Dark and Ghost, so which of the two games features more Dark- and/or Ghost-types?

Funny story! My friend ordered a 50$ Final Fantasy XIII faceplate for his 360. A week later, the tracking said it was delivered. He talked to the postman, and basically it was, "I guess it went to the wrong house. Whoops." Bye bye money.I was at work when they tried to deliver it so now I'll have to wait until Saturday morning!
Useless bloody postmen!
So Vet, be glad it's still coming xD

Well, maybe I can figure out what my ideal team will be while I wait...

What if you trade IN a foreign pokemon..? I've been importing a few things from my Pearl cart xD
You have to trade it via GTS from that cart. My roomie and I tried it the other way and it didn't unlock for her until she traded for one on GTS herself.

Yes, that is a way to surpass the level barrier, though you can also trade eggs. That so? Hmm... I'll just get whichever one I find first then, I guess. I suppose I can just do an online trade if I really want a missing Dark/Ghost and make it lay an appropriate egg or something, right? (I should really know this off-hand. but I haven't played any of the new-gen Pokemon games.)
Also, both of them have access to the best Dark type of all: Tyranitar!

Did you know you can use the RNG to mess with your Trainer ID?

Still, just defeated Jasmine and took a pit stop at the Safari Zone. Still trying to think of a proper team to use beyond my Feraligatr and Magmar. I need to get around to headbutting trees to find Heracross...

While out shopping I sat down, caught a male Nidoran and went back to shopping! I love this pokewalker!
Just got the first badge and the mysterious egg, saved before receiving it since Togepi will be in the team to stay and I want it to have Serene Grace. Running around with an unheated egg was not much fun so I thought if this one has Hustle, I'll reset just the one and chance it. Thankfully it did have Serene Grace so all was well.
Current party:
Dundee the Adamant Totodile
Toby the Naughty Togepi
Gwen the Brave Zubat
Nidoran the HM Slave.

I just got the Plain Badge, which was a lot easier than I remember it being when I played Crystal.

I thought that too, but it seems you only need at least one pokemon in a PC box. The instruction book doesn't do a good job explaining it.I haven't even used the Pokéwalker yet. I thought you had to wait until something happens in the game before I could use it.

My team:
Torch, my Typhlosion
Lambchop, my Ampharos
Cadbury, my Togekiss (yes, I stole the name from Vet, but I'm the one that thought it up anyways so

The Fear, my Gengar
Giggety, my Quagsire
Bella, my Victreebel (seriously contemplated changing the name once my friend's teeny-bopper sister thought I named it after that bitch from Twilight)
Also, I named my rival Jonas. Partially because I hate the Jonas brothers (so fucking much) and partially so I can reference that "Twister" episode of the Nostalgia Critic whenever he shows up ("JONAAAAAS!!!!!!")

As for the game, I played and beat it when it came out back in the fall. But...bought the English version, writing a FAQ on it, about halfway through. ^^

My team!
Quilava
Wooper
Pidgey
Gastly
Togepi
Geodude
And I've been putting time into the Pokéwalker. Caught Magby, Elekid and Wobuffet the first times on their respective courses. Thought I'd accidentally cloned a Hoothoot once; I was trying to put my Hoothoot into the Walker just as a random Hoothoot showed up on the walker and decided to walk with me. So, yay, free Hoothoot? A Sunkern later did the same thing.

I just beat the Fighting type gym (with a lot of difficulty, I ended up throwing the Event Pichu at him, Zap Cannon FTW)
Right now my team is:
Shula the Cyndaquil (Everstone'd, I want to get some of the attacks earlier)
Karni Mata the Raticate
Stryk the Fearow
Billy the Togetic
Wistala the Butterfree
Gypsy the Psyduck
I have a lot of fun with nicknames. I try not to do anything too stupid in case I trade it, but I love doing puns and unusual theme names. I right now there's a Paras in my Pokéwalker who's named Plaster. I also have a Japanese Eevee named Nana (in katakana), which is pretty dang cute.
...I've been tempted for a while to catch and Ekans and name it Trouser.

Currently in Ecruteak. Keaton the Vulpix is the only new addition. I also caught a Modest Yanma which nearly found a place on my team, but it's level-up moves don't kick in until 50+.
Also, the Rival doesn't make himself look good when he has a Bayleef on his team. Ooooooh, don't hurt me! XD
