So.....what the hell are you watching now?

Mobile Suit Gundam OO
Well, of course, as anyone who's been on these forums long enough could assume. I actually really, really like this one, despite how much SEED disappointed me and Destiny outright infuriated me. It's kinda neat how it takes place in the "real world" as opposed to a made up one like the other series, and I really like how the grunt mobile suits look more realistic for lack of a better term - they either look very industrial and practical or sporty and curvy for agility, rather then being outright super robot designs like the Gundams themselves are. The characters are also pretty refreshing, and the story's also pretty interesting in its concepts and execution, as opposed to the prior two series where even if they had good ideas to explore, it was fumbled badly by terrible directional choices. A nice breath of fresh air while still being Gundam.
Romeo X Juliet
Much like Samurai 7 I turned my nose up at this initially as being a crazy inexplicable idea, but also much like the other series I've actually grown to like it. It's a different enough take on the play that it's unique and has some twists, but in the end the same plot points and beats are hit so it's not a total disrespectful pile of trash either. Yeah, sure, Juliet with a sword while Romeo has a flying dragon horse on a floating island is.....weird, but it's pretty interesting thus far. Also incredibly amused/dumbstruck by the people who are surprised that they die at the end. Oy.
Claymore
Haven't seen very much of this, but it's intriguing enough for me to keep watching, though whether it's worth it or not remains to be seen. Pretty bloody, but I can't help but think that there's something of substance in there somewhere, at least eventually. Very nice looking show, at the very least.
There's a few more I've been wanting to look at, but again, time. And while I'm willing to watch different kinds of anime -glances at Haruhi, Lucky Star, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time on shelf- some I'm going to stay far away from. -glances at Paradise Kiss and Wedding Peach-
So! Anyone else watching anything new/new to you?

Started on Gundam 00 and Gurren Lagan, though I might find myself a subbed version of the latter. My gosh it was horrible...
Aaaaand I have a supposedly large goodies bag coming my way. Soon. So from there, who knows!

I watched Blackblood Brothers a while back during the summer, but it was a rather disappointing series. I'm debating whether or not to rewatch Escaflowne or GetBackers.

Waiting - desperately, might I add - for the Evangelion 2.0 dvd to come out o____________o

Said goodie bag will arrive. Eventually.
At the moment I'm trying to whittle down my somewhat-ridiculous backlog. Chrno Crusade takes up my current nightly viewing hours, but I'm also halfway through DBZ season 4 (watching it with a friend), with the second half of the original FMA anime, Kenshin season two, Initial D second stage, and Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad also on my shelf. That's just dvds though. Harddrive has . . . a substantial amount also waiting for viewing.
When Claymore's plot gets going . . . it's pretty ridiculously awesome.

Nice. Beck is such a good series. Although to be honest, the Chrno Crusade anime kinda failed my expectations (compared to the manga anyway)

But you have to switch over to the manga at the end.
I have a text document on my computer of where I've seen up to! I'm partway through Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, Petite Princess Yucie, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Kasimasi, Kanokon, Seto no Hanayome, Pokémon, Da Capo, Digimon Adventure, Digimon Frontier, Yume Tsukai, Asura Cryin', Pandora Hearts, NieA_7, Azumanga Daioh, Matantei Loki Ragnarok, Fairy Musketeers, UFO Princess Valkyrie, Futakoi, Telepathy Shoujo Ran, Akikan, Kämpfer and He is My Master!
Some of them are total dross, I suppose... I should probably stop starting new serieses when I'm already partway through so many.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
...
That's it, really. I occasionally pop over to Hulu for some Fist of the North Star or Robotech, but I'm not really "watching" either series.

You mean this Nightwalker? Looks like a Japanese version of Joss Whedon's Angel, which I suppose isn't really a bad thing.
