I saw the update on the Zelda Legends front page today that said something about how the blue girl in the Zelda Wii concept art was a fairy, and not the Master Sword. The update didn't post any links, but said something about Game Informer? Is this a new interview that just got released? If so, does anybody have a link?

Maybe they're bringing back the ability to pick up enemy weapons.

They'd have to make them actually useful. The only useful weapon in TWW was the Boko stick, and that was essentially the same thing as a Deku stick. Early on they shoehorned in stuff like wood that your sword couldn't cut through, but by the third dungeon enemy weapons have become window dressing.

That's admittedly true, but it was still an awesome feature that brought life to the game. I loved the Darknut sword and how you could demolish massive pillars with it.

No, the best part of the Darknut sword was chucking it halfway across the room to kill some unsuspecting baddie. Screw physics, that was cool!

You could do that with every weapon, but I do agree that it was best with the Darknut sword. I killed the Wizzrobe mini-boss in TWW solely by tossing a Darknut's sword at him.

So the blue girl isn't the Master Sword, she's a fairy. I still think she has a connection to the sword much like the Fairy of Winds had with the Gale Boomerang in TP.

I still haven't seen the text of said interview, maybe the updater at ZL jumped to conclusions and didn't consider the possibility of the fairy being the Master Sword.

I was talking about this a couple days ago, and I had an interesting idea for the name and who the blue girl could be.

The Legend of Zelda: Return of Navi

Yeah, it sounds a bit far-fetched. :P

I wanted to say this earlier, but forgot to. Either way...

I find it hilarious we need a thread to confirm the blue girl is not the Master Sword. The whole "the girl is a sword!" thing almost became a meme of its own.

Don't say that! We'll end up in a Goron gender debate! It will probably mutate into a Zora-Rito Evolution? debate!

Y'know, now that it's come up, would a Goron refer to a respected female as a "Sister?"

Um, no one in the Zelda games has any gender. They're all a bunch of polygons and pixels with no genitalia!

Especially, OoT Link. I don't even think he has a crotch area, let alone genitalia.

This isn't the first time Amy122 has read things and jumped to her own conclusions. I remember she was posting "Blue Girl isn't the Master Sword" simply because she couldn't see the Master Sword in the promo poster....which was the entire point of the theory.

Chillax, guys.

Dude...all the article says is (in a clearly tongue-in-cheak manner) "how annoying will the fairy be this time around?".

That doesn't confirm that it is a fairy (though it likely is). Nothing AT ALL was said about the Master Sword in the article.

Yes, it's a fairy...

didn't everyone see that?

she's practically a clone of the ones in TWW.

and she also kinda gives a resemblance to the Master Sword.

See, I didn't know that when I started the topic, I just saw the post on the front page of ZL talking about GI and asked about the article.
BTW, I have heard one theory that the blue girl is the fusion of the Fairy Queen and the Master Sword, forming the "Mistress Sword." Lamest sword name ever.

Anybody remember all those "Midna is the Master Sword" topics?

If the blue girl isn't the Master Sword, though, I'm totally writing this fanfiction where she is, because in my mind I already have this epic storyline about Link being handed this blank state artificial being and being told by the Sages, in a panic/emergency, to teach her the difference between good and evil and stuff, so she can function as the spirit of Evil's Bane. At the end, Link has to kill her so the Master Sword can be born.

After defeating the villain, Link puts the sword to rest with a heavy heart, and we hear the girl's voice. "I'll always wait for you...I'll always be here, waiting..." The door closes and it grows dark, then we see a crack of light, and the fluttering of Navi's wings. We hear her voice. "Link?" Fade to black, Link's "Hngh....HYAA!" Then the credits.

I can see the girl being sacrificed to be made into the sword. It wouldn't be the first time Nintendo pulled something like that. Anyone remember Luvbi from Super Paper Mario?

So, the speculation is that it might be a sort of origin story for the Master Sword? Boy, I hope that turns out not to be the case. Not worried, though. Speculation tends to be far enough off-base to get put out by the hidden ball trick.
