Anyway, Chik = Lena via the above argument only if things equal to the same are equal to each other; we'll call this statement A.
(A) Things that are equal to the same are equal to each other
(Aside: That is, transitivity. Can we be sure we're living in a transitive world? Let's assume so.)
(B) Chik and Lena are things that are equal to the same
Therefore (Z): Chik and Lean are equal to each other
