Thanks! I love how the theory, in a silly kind of way, actually works as well.

So, I haven't been on ZU for a week since I've been preparing to go back to college, but last I checked Pinecove was trying to push some crazy FS series "theory". Basically, Pinecove looked at a couple of dates then randomly decided that Aonuma must not have known a single thing about the timeline, something Aonuma has repeatedly said he was interested in and wanted to make sense of, during that time. It's part of an attempt to absolutely discredit the "FS was first" quote in some pretentious attempt to act like he's infallible in his theorizing. I've tried to tell them that it's best to wait until SS is released so they don't make any assumptions that come back to bite them in the ass, but ZU never learns. It's kind of funny to see them make such large claims only to trip over themselves once they have to run from their statements.

I thought the status of the FS quote was discredited a long time ago, especially since Aonuma didn't seem to be certain about FS's placement. It isn't like the split timeline which was confirmed twice four years apart. And it is best to wait until SS comes put before making assumptions like this. I know that ZU, along with many other sites, jumped the gun with ST. After most of their assumptions were proven wrong, you'd think people would quit jumping the gun, wouldn't you? I can only imagine what those sites will be like in about three months.

If someone tried to do something like that before, the guys over at ZU aren't referring back to it. Their recent effort is solely based on this date thing and a desire to act as if it's impossible for them to be wrong.

Not just that, they jumped the gun with TP and PH as well. Every time they set themselves up for a fall.

ZU seems incapable of learning.

Could you provide some examples? The only reason I mentioned the ST ones was because that it the first one I've personally witnessed.

They aren't the only ones. They're much better than some of the other sites I've seen.

With TP, they used screenshots of the training sequences and howling cutscenes to confirm the common fan theory that the game was about the flood between OOT and TWW. With PH, they constructed elaborate theories about how it would involve the un-flooding of Hyrule.

*bangs head on keyboard*

Why are the same pre-release theories always circulated around across multiple games?

The one with TP I could see since that's what I thought it was when I saw the old trailer, and I hear it was supposed to go there at one point. The one with PH, not so much since TWW primarily focused on the destruction of Hyrule.

The latter seems to happen with every game in the AT, doesn't it? What part of "Hyrule was erased" is so hard to understand? At least ST took care of that one...hopefully. Are we the only ones who noticed the one thing these ideas had in common?

It's still got nothing on the "TMC is the first game in the un-flooded Hyrule because of the number of trees on the map and you can see the ocean in the cloud background."

That one's been around forever, hasn't it? Even with the inclusion of ST, a few still exist to justify placing the classic games on the AT using justifications like "The Deku Tree united Hyrule" and the unflooding theory which wouldn't even work out even if it did have some basis in fact. It's almost as if some of these theorists go out of their way to ignore critical plot elements which wipes the deck with their theories, and/or straining their minds to make the classics fit, most notably with ALTTP's placement. Well, each to his own I guess.
