After apologizing for his friend, Arato turned to walk away when he heard the sound of some one running towards them. He noticed the Neko heard it too and was nervous about it.

--"Well, whatever happens, we all need to move away. Now. I don't know how I became the leader of this brigade, but I am. I'm leaving the decision on whether or not you come to you. If you're with me, you're with me. But I'm moving out, and as quickly as possible."

I wonder where they are going, he thought to himself.
"Xavier and I will join you if it's alright, we don't really have anywhere more important to go."

"WHAT!" Xavier shouted, half with excitement and half out of dissappointment. "What about our dinner?" he asked.

"Well, you can blame yourself for that, you were rude to them and I think in order to make up for your rudeness you should have to make dinner for even more people tonight." Arato stated as a mischevious smile came across his face.

"Aww com'on!" Xavier whined.

"Well at least you may get a chance to see this nice mans gun so hush up."Arato pointed out, and with that Xavier smiled and didn't talk again for some time.

"They call me Adastreia. What do they call you?"

Lotus was about to speak when the business of Nameless, Arato, and Xavier popped up. He waited patiently however, and kept the pace as the group moved on. Introductions could wait for a safer time and place.

Wil ate his food slowly, relishing each bite. In two days, with luck, he would be in Kinaancha. The ale was excellent, as he had expected. It was getting late, and nothing interesting seemed to be happening in the common room. He got up and paid for his meal, then retired to his room.

Said room was rather small and cramped, designed for the short inhabitants of the region rather than his massive frame. He situated himself as comfortably as he could and tried to get to sleep.

As Nameless stood there waiting for Adrasteia's reply a boy a few years younger ran up to him yelling about something.

"Excuse me, sir, but may I see your gun! I've always wanted to see one close up, but I've never had the chance and now I do so I don't want to miss it, what do you say?"

"Whatzat???" He looked at the kid and then at the older guy who came up behind him and mumbled something.

Nameless was about the reply when Adrasteia spoke up.

"Well, whatever happens, we all need to move away. Now. I don't know how I became the leader of this brigade, but I am. I'm leaving the decision on whether or not you come to you. If you're with me, you're with me. But I'm moving out, and as quickly as possible." She turned in the opposite direction of the docks and started off.

Nameless looked down the street where some noise was coming from. His gun shot had seemed to attract some guards who didn't look happy. "hmm maybe in the future I should think that through. Ya...." He started off to catch up with the rest of the group. "We seem to have a large group. Bumma......" *Gurgle* "Crap...I'm hungry"

Alabast followed Adrasteia, all the while nervously looking around him.

There are now a lot more people than just Adrasteia, and frankly Alabast didnt trust some of them, because looking at them brought up painful memories of other children from his childhood. So, it would take some time before he could trust some of them.

Alabast trusted the compainionship of Adrasteia and the mossy man, possibly because they reminded him of himself, outcasts from most of humanity. Alabast had noticed this from the looks they recieved and the looks he got for walking beside a Neko.

Now, Nameless was another story, he seemed nice enough, but so did Virgil when Alabast first started working with him, and now two more humans!?! The only humans Alabast had ever trusted were himself and his parents..

Well for now Alabast was content to walk with Adrasteia and study Nameless and the other two humans. He would most likely have a chat with moss-man later, then possibly Nameless and well who knows about the other two.

As Nameless trotted along, stomach gurgling, he started rummaging in his bag for food.

"Hmm that doesn't smell right" He threw a package at a garbage box as the went by it. "That's not edible..." He looked at some weird contraption he had made. "AH HAH!!!!" He found in the bottom of the bag a small loaf of bread. "Yes this is my favorite food item." He started munching away at it. He looked over at Alabast. He looked nervous, probably cause of all the people, but there was something else to something distant. Nameless shook his head trying to stop reading to deep into it, and started back on his bread. "So where are we headed?" He asked Adrasteia. "Or do we *munch munch* have no *munch* set destination?"

Arato looked around at the people around him, he had never met a Neko before, but he was not someone to be picky about his company. The moss man disturbed him, but he didn't worry too much. He knew Neko's had to be careful about their companions and if she felt safe with the man, Arato knew he could trust him. The greasy pants kid was comedic to say the least, and Arato and Xavier both liked him immediately. The other man obviously didn't like Arato but he wasn't too worried. Arato was used to having to prove his loyalty.

As they continued walking with the group, Arato saw the greasy-pants kid looking in some sort of box, eventually he satisfied himself with a piece of bread from it.

"So where are we headed?" "Or do we *munch munch* have no *munch* set destination?"

"I think the more important thing is to get to a safe spot first, then worry about where we are all going," stated Arato matter-of-factly.

The six of them walked on. Nameless happily ate food from his whatchamacallit, Xavier and his guardian (or so she assumed) chatted happily. Xavier, being twelve, was so curious about the world around him. Alabast walked closely next to her, as if to protect her from some unknown enemy. She could see in his eyes that his easily trustable personality had changed. He didn't look so sure of who he could trust. And...

Damn humans and their timing. She hadn't gotten the pretty man's name. He walked, silent and humble.

Adastreia could see the city limits. The sun was setting behind them.

"I hope you guys don't mind sleeping outside. We'll walk until the sun sets, and then I'll catch some food for that dinner that Xavier's going to cook." She smiled as she said it, her canines dripping drool already.

If there's one thing that anyone should ever learn about Adastreia, it would be that she loves to eat.

The sun was almost beyond the horizon when Adastreia decided to stop the camp next to a stream. There were a few trees around, which was good.

"Someone needs to get a smokeless fire going, and I'll need one other person to hunt with me. One person needs to stay here with Xavier, I'm assuming that's you," she nodded in the direction of the other anonymous man in the group, "and someone needs to get water," she said.

She stood and looked at the group, waiting for their decisions.

Gate decided that walking was bothersome after a few minutes of his trip. He realized that there was a perfectly fine boat he could use, although he didn't know the first thing about sailing. That wasn't a good enough reason to stop him from turning around again. He headed back to the abandoned ferry, where the bodies of the thieves lay. As he walked towards the ship, he noticed the crates that were being unpacked from the boat. What was inside them? Since the crate was loosely sealed, Gate thought he might as well check out what it was these men wanted to steal. He opened the crate only to find clothing. Strange, nothing here worth stealing. He opened another crate only to find various equipment for day to day living. It seems that these thieves were going to be disappointed one way or another today.

He decided after all that the boat was too much trouble and continued to walk down the shore line and reach Cha'Firen. First a cat, then thieves, what was next?

After Gate left the area, a wandering priest discovered the clothing and supplies on the shore. He took the items in question and brought them back to the orphanage he worked at. They claimed it was a gift from the gods.

He went over to the river and pulled his collapsible bucket out of his backpack, popped it open and commenced scooping water into it.

"Hey Xavier, get that fire going and some food a cooking. or I'm gonna deafen you with the gurgling of mah stomach"

Xavier hopped up from where he had been sitting and started getting a fire going. "Haha gurgling of his stomach, thats a funny joke." Xavier laughed as he worked.

"That was no joke." Nameless mumbled as he brought the water back.

Alabast had been distracted by memories of his childhood since they left town, he was standing there completly oblivious to everything till

--"Right, umm I'll get the water. Hey Alabast how about you go with Adrasteia."

Alabast looked around himself just realizing where he actually was. Alabast shot Nameless a quick glance.

"I think I will be the one to go with her."

Alabast turned and walked to the edge of the clearing and looked back looking for Adrasteia, when one of the two humans he didnt know spoke up.

"Alright, I guess I'll stay here and guard the camp. Now that things seem to have calmed down a bit, I believe proper introductions are in order. I'm Arato, and this is my friend Xavier. Now who are all of you?"

hmm...I'm not too sure about trusting him yet, but he seems nice enough...
thought Alabast as he turned around

"Well, I'm Alabast, now Adrasteia, I think its time we went in search of our dinner" said Alabast turning back twords the woods.

The moment was indeed proper, at least in Lotus's mind. Though the sky was dark and the last sliver of the sun was disapearing, and the significance of the gesture meaningless in this culture, he stuck to the tradition of greeting he had been raised with. With his left hand holding his walking stick against his chest, Lotus pointed the other into the air.

"This humble one is The Bringer of the Blue Sky, and is of the North Thunder. Many call this humble one Lotus."

Not wanting to be useless, Lotus got the idea to start looking around.

"This humble one shall look at the plants for food."

Immediately, Lotus went to the first thing he saw, a small group of herbs near the area where the fire would be. As he pulled off a piece of one of the leavs, he sniffed it, and started chewing a bit of it. Kind of minty.

In truth, Lotus felt more comfortable being out in the wilderness. Cha'Firen was interesting, but being back out here was a bit more comforting. Out here, he could the pulse of the earth easily, and it was a comforting rythm to him. He plucked a few herbs, leaving plenty behind to grow. Lotus then started tapping his bare feet to that rythm he could feel beneath him.

"In... ta... tes... mo... me... in... ta... tes... mo... me... in... ta..." he silently counted off.

It had taken some time, but the trip back to Cha'Firen had come to a close. It was a complete waste of time, to say the least. The sky had grown dark and the crowds became nothing more than just a couple of people walking the streets. Everyone was in their homes, with their family, their lovers, etc. Gate however had none of these things, so he remained outside. In this twilight hour, Gate felt more alive than usual. It was something about the setting sun, the last glimpse of light fading away behind night. Whatever the reason be, Gate just enjoyed this weather.

The only way to Kinnacha was by boat, since the city was surrounded by the waters of Lake Cha. Gate would once again require a ride in order to reach the city. The forces that be compelled him forward, to this city in the middle of the lake. Gate, unwilling to resist this unknown force, decided to go along with it all. He had never been to this place, maybe there was something different to be seen there. Gate wandered the city and ended up at the Squealing Pig, a suspicious looking establishment he had passed earlier this afternoon. Gate decided to not enter the building, seeing as it was filled with drunks by this time. Gate walked into the alley between the tavern and another building and took a seat on the ground. Wrapping his arms around his folded legs, he lowered his head and decided to rest between the two buildings.

"I'm Nameless." He stated to the group at large as he put down his bucket. "Nice to meet you all." He looked around at the group. Lotus had started picking herbs, Alabast had walked to the edge of the clearing and was waiting for Adrasteia, Xavier was getting the fire going, and Arato was looking around at them all. "I wonder who that guy is. Hmm well we will see." He thought.

Lotus was..counting? Chanting? What was this? The voice of the Earth and the trees and grass around them began to reverberate in unison. One rhythm. One beat. As if singing a song. Adastreia listened and joined in as it all was happening. She didn't have earth magic in her, but she could communicate with the plants, animals and trees around her. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back when...

"...Adrasteia, I think its time we went in search of our dinner," said Alabast. He turned around and started off towards the woods. Well, what you could consider woods. They were very light. Not like the forests she liked, but they were woods enough.

Snapping out of her meditation. She gave Alabast an angry look, but then realized that it wasn't his fault. It was her orders that made everyone choose what they were to do.

She turned back with him and walked in. The trees were all gossiping about various things.

As they walked silently, she whispered to Alabast, "How does deer sound?"

She smelled a lot of food around, so she wasn't too picky on what they did or didn't have, but there just so happened to be a few small deer standing several hundred feet away, feasting on a bit of grass and bush.

She didn't know how much humans ate, but whatever they didn't eat, they could wrap up in animal skin and take it along with them.

Adrasteia was standing there, seemingly hypnotized. Not knowing too much about Neko's he didn't know what was going on, but he could definatly tell somthing was up. Being a "wild one" Alabast was in tune with nature, in a way. More so was he in tune with the wind than any other element, and he could tell somthing was up. There was a definate resounding pulse in the air, and it started when this Lotus started speaking. With every syllable, a pulse.

Then Adrasteia turned around and she looked angry, then that face quickly dissapeared as she turned and walked with him into the wooded area.

"How does deer sound?" whispered Adrasteia.

"Quite alright, actually," whispered Alabast in response, looking up ahead at the deer, apparently eating.

"You stay here then," she told Alabast. "And take care of these..." she took off the claws on her hips. She could feel his annoyed look a she silently ran off. She climbed up a tree close to them. Going along the edge of the branches, she leaned down and pulled off a pair of claws off her boots. They were about six inches long. Long enough to cut into major arteries.

As she moved closer, one of the deer perked up, but assumed it was nothing and kept eating.

She sat at the edge, watching them eat. She chose the smallest of the deer. It wasn't a baby, but it wasn't necessarily old either. The meat would still be tender.

At the precise moment, she decided to jump out of the tree, landing on her chosen prey before it could run. The rest of the deer scattered. She dug her claws into its throat and hung on for dear life as it ran around until it fell and bled to death on the forest floor.

She stood up, dusting her pants off and wiping the blood on a cloth in her pocket.

She turned around as Alabast came running up.

"Well, that was fun," she said, grinning.

Arato was sitting with his back against a tree, resting. He had one hand on his knife Endulon and the other resting on his stomach. The hood on his cloak was shielding his eyes from view. He was in a state of consciousness where his body was resting but he was fully aware of all his surroundings. He had a look on his face that was obviously meant to convey the message "Don't bother me unless its necessary."

He was aware of Alabast and Adrasteia conversing not far off, though he couldn't decipher what they talking about. He was almost falling asleep due to the beat that was present in the air, and earth. It was a soothing beat, it seemed like some sort of magic but Arato knew only what he read in books about it.

Nameless was sitting by the fire watching Arato, he was falling asleep. "Thats not very good guardsman ship. Heh so I'll make him not want to fall asleep again." He got up and made it look as though he was going to the river to get a drink but he doubled around the tree which Arato was resting. When he got there ha pulled a fuzzy toped weed out of its resting place and snuck up on Arato. Quietly he reached around the tree so that the weed was under Arato's nose, and then he quicly tickled his nose and then drew back to be in hiding. "Perfect!!!" He guessed that that had sufficently awoken the dozing man so he made his way back to the fire and sat down calmly. "I wonder when Alabast and Adrasteia will get back" He stated to no one in particular.

The sounds of bottles crashing against walls and objects resounded as far as the outside area of the building. Gate wasn't able to sleep very well in this place and decided to get back on his feet and head off somewhere else. Although the streets of Cha'Firen were not as populated as they were during the day, there were still people out and about. Gate kept his head down, avoiding eye contact and acting like a social recluse while listening in to what the people around had to say.

"There was a big fuss today in town, something with a neko."

"Bah, what do ya expect? When there is a neko, there is trouble. Damned demi-human monster like that is better as a rug if you ask me."

"The cat gathered a lot of people to her after the incident, probably stupid or something looking for trouble like that."

There was another group passing him,

"You see that large guy at the Squealing Pig?"

"Yeah, the man is built like a fortress! I wonder if he is a soldier or something?"

"Could be a mercenary from some far away nation, but man I've never seen a man in his condition before."

The people had their own stories that they openly shared and Gate decided to listen in. He didn't care about what most people had to say, but information was always useful when one was thinking of what to do next. The large man was probably that man from the ferry with the horse from before. He seems to attract attention to himself. The Neko stories seemed interesting enough, but the crowd she'd gathered seem like nothing more than a nuisance. Gate almost felt sorry for her.

After his walking, he ended back where he started: The Squealing Pig. The noise had died down a little and achieving some rest might actually be possible. He sat down and began to rest, tomorrow he would need his strength to find a ride to Kinnacha and find a weapons dealer.

Adastreia looked up at Alabast.

"Well? Shall we? He's not going to cook himself."

"Right," he retorted simply. He seemed rather annoyed. She got dinner, right? Maybe she should've let him help. Human males were known to make themselves dominant over females. It was obvious he'd never met a female who was independent.

Nonetheless a Neko. Stubborn and sometimes hard to get along with.

They drug the carcass of the deer back to the camp, where Nameless was sitting next to the fire. His hunger, from what it seemed, was making him miserable.

Arato was asleep.

Humans, she thought, always dependable... Adrasteia was annoyed. She couldn't figure out why. Somehow, she became a leader of a bunch of humans. Humans! Following a Neko! How odd. If they were looking for adventure, they looked in the wrong place.

Adastreia looked around. She needed something to put the intestines on..

Nothing.

She took off the same claws and began to gut the deer. She put the intestines carefully in the grass behind her.

"'Cha doin'?" Xavier came up behind her and decided to watch.

"Helping you prepare dinner," she smiled. Her fur was matted with blood as she reached in and pulled out the last of the entrails. Adastreia then proceded to skin the deer. She did it carefully, so that it would stay in one piece. They'd be able to use it later.

Cutting pieces of tender meat off, she handed them to Xavier so he could cook dinner.

"You're a mess, you know that?"

She looked up. Alabast stood there, smirking.

"You could say that, yeah," she retorted. There was still quite a bit of meat to be cut off. If she was happy that anyone came, it would be him. "Don't step in the intestines. We'll be needing those."

"Really?"

Typical human response, she thought.

Then she realized it was sarcasm.

He knelt down and helped her finish the carving of the deer.

The moon arced its path across the night sky, the sun hot on its heels. Wil's eyes slowly opened as the first ray of the sun fell upon his face. He got up slowly and gathered his few possessions, ensuring that his money pouch was still securely around his neck. He stepped down the stairs to the front of the inn and paid the amount he owed (unbeknownst to him, the innkeeper had ripped him off rather badly) and then set out for the docks to find a ship to Kinaancha.

The docks were fairly quiet at this time of morning, most of the fishermen having been off for hours already, and the tide was not for awhile. Wil went up to the first man he saw, a young man who looked to be of a reputable sort.

"Excuse me, sir, I need passage to Kinaancha, and wondered whether you knew of anyone who could provide it."

The young man sized Wil up quickly, his small green eyes dancing around.

"I reckon I could help. I'm the captain, y'see, of the Blue Swallow over there, y'see." He motioned vaguely towards a large ship at the other side of the dock.

Wil bowed his head respectfully. "And tell me, sir, how much would this cost me?"

The young man rubbed his chin thoughtfully. It appeared as though he was attempting to grow a beard, the same bright curly red as his hair, but was failing miserably.

"30 Kinmarks."

"I'll give you 15, tis all I have left."

The young captain rubbed his chin again.

"Alright, but ye'll have to provide yer own food, and sleep in the hold."

Wil extended his hand, and the other man took it.

"When will we leave?"

"Soon as the tide turns."

Wil sat on one of the dock posts to wait.

Gate had woken up and was on the move again. The streets had become populated once again with people, all of which who gave him awkward looks. He wasn't paying too much attention to them this time around, he already knew what they thought of him. He noticed the large man from before by the pier, next to a large boat. Was he planning to leave as well? Gate walked into a crowd of people, bumping into as many people as he could. Some people hit harder than others, but it wasn't anything too painful. After Gate had been ejected from the mob of people, complete with judging looks and people checking their wallets, he walked towards the pier. He stole a good amount of money from those people, but none of them would notice they had been robbed. Gate only took the small change in their pockets and wallets. Altogether, he had managed to pilfer 7 Kinmarks.

He walked over to the pier and sat down near the large man. For some reason, he was compelled to talk to him.

"Business or Pleasure?" He asked the large stranger.

Shadow stirred from his slumber as light began to flood in through the frosted-glass window of his room... well, at least the room the dragon knight he had assumed the identity of. He hoped this was the only night he had to stay in here... not that it wasn't accomodating -- in fact it was far beyond that -- but he had work to do. It wasn't a guarantee that Xervan was here, in fact it was the most unlikely scenario since the Dragon Knights were honorable whereas Xervan was far from it, but if he was going to get anywhere he would have to check every possible lead. And the lead he'd gotten just happened to lead him here.

So, he had some planning to do. First thing was the best way to find information without drawing too much suspicion. Second was to find a quick way out of Kinaacha so, in the case that his true identity was discovered, he'd have a quick escape route... or even a way out in general, he had no intention of staying in the same city as the people who had wanted posters of him plastered all over the city. Third and final was to find a mode of transportation that would last long enough to get him to his hideaway.

The third step was obvious in his mind, he needed another horse so he could get back to Cha'Firen and get a boat ride, since it was unlikely he'd be getting a boat straight out of Kinaacha. So he needed to find a stable. The first part would require a bit of thought, though... he figured he'd work on that while he searched for his escape route. How he hated unknown territory... but maybe this would be an opportunity to get more familiar with Imperial capital. Who knows? He might wind up getting a mission that involves this place in the future.

Slipping on some of the deceased knight's casual attire over his own -- perhaps a little hot, but necessary if he needed to get his weapons in a sticky situation -- he exited the bedroom and started out of the castle to get into the actual city.

"OH DEER!!!!!" Nameless exclaimed, as Alabast and Adrasteia dragged the deer back to the campsight. His mouth began to water and eyes were aglow with the prospect of fresh meat.

"Oh joy oh rapture, deer is soo tasty!!!" He started dancing around the fire. "So Xavier you know how to cook deer well right?" He stopped dancing around the fire and looked around for his bucket. "Hey Adrasteia what did you want the water for anyway? drinking or somit else?"

It was a festival day. Shamus couldn't remember why it was a festival day but he did know for some reason it was a festival day. The next pub came into view, The Snarling Ostrich, Hmmm, the strangest names have the best beer. Shamus was now bouncing off of wall in the direction of the pub. It did in fact have amazing beer, at least that's what he remembered about it. Several pubs and many vomiting sessions later, Shamus found him self at what he was somewhat sure was the gate he entered into from his flyer. He stumbled through it, By the powers I'm drunk. floated through his mind and bubbled to the top of his thoughts.

The better part of an hour later Shamus found himself near a fire, at least he thought it was a fire it shined brightly, too brightly, head... oww. He approached the fire, there were people around it, one of them was familiar.

"Whi iss tha kidj!" he managed to say. Then he collapsed. Sweet blackness, better than all the ale in the world.

Nameless looked up as Shamus stumbled into the camp, proclaiming as he did. "Whi iss tha kidj!" He fell with a thud and didn't get back up. "Hey if it isn't Shamus!" Nameless walked over to the prone man and turned him over."Hmm drunk, very drunk"

Nameless dragged Shamus's limp form over to the fire. "Stay here ok." he moved over to his bag and pulled out a small lump that looked like a pillow and moved back to Shamus. "Here you go a "pillow" for your head." He put the lump under Shamus's head and then looked around to Adrasteia. "This is Shamus he is a flyer pilot , he has one some where around here, I think it's on the other side of the city. Poor guy he must have staggered here from the pub thinking he was going in the right direction." He stared into the fire for a bit and then looked up again. "So is the deer ready?"

Alabast was on his way back from the stream where he had cleaned himself, when he thought it would be quicker to take a detour through the wooded area rather than follow the path.

Alabast had made it through and could see the camp clearly through the trees when he noticed a person stumbling down the path from the city.

Oh great.., thought Alabast, another person..and he's drunk no less

"Whi iss tha kidj!"
"Hey if it isn't Shamus!"

So greasy pants knows him then..

Alabast then stepped out of the wood and found a rather large rock to sit on.

"After tonight Adrasteia, Lotus, and I are seperating ways with the rest of you."

Alabast closed his eyes and readied himself for the stream of protests he was expecting from the others.

"After tonight Adrasteia, Lotus, and I are separating ways with the rest of you." Alabast said to the group.

"Aww your leaving, it's cause of me isn't it." Nameless looked down at the ground.

"Well I guess I'll just go with Shamus then. But can we eat first please?"
