Now, the LotR edition has some additional rules. The One Ring (to rule them all) starts off in Bag End. One of the dice has an "Eye of Sauron" instead of a 6. Whenever this is rolled, the One Ring moves to the next property/station/utility on the board. (I.e. it jumps jail, free parking, taxes, etc.) You carry out your move as usual.
If you land on a space with the ring on, then if that property is unowned, you get it for free. If it's owned by someone else, you pay double the normal rent.
Once the ring reaches Mount Doom, the game ends, and you tally up who wins as usual for the short game rules.
And the terms are different - stations are horses, pounds are power, chance and community chest are people and events... But that's pretty easy to pick up.
So, everyone gets £1,500, and we're off! I'll have to roll for you. (I won't cheat!) Play order will be signing up order, viz.
Gimli - Ransom £1,500
Aragorn - Steel Samurai £1,500
Gandalf - Veteran £1,500
Legolas - Jaina £1,500
Frodo - CID Farwin £1,500
Galadriel - D~N £1,500
1921 penny - Showsni £1,500
Ransom rolls a five and a two = seven. That's a People card.
"Sauron summons you. Advance token to Mount Doom." Mount Doom costs £400. Do you wish to buy it?
