I find time. 12 hour shifts suck, but the money is there. My sleep is lacking because of it, but that's ok.

Well at the fire house we get a lot of downtime. Except today. Had training all day and two runs. An old guy the fell and hit his hip and a sewer fire. Just got back and class is over and it's 5p. Only three hours until my other job. I guess I could try and catch a few winks but I'm just not all that tired. Which only means I'll be fighting sleep all night.

Unless it has the lowest standards of any martial arts school on earth, nobody can get a black belt in a mere two years. Five years I can accept, but two?

I've been in a karate class for about nine years now, and I'm not a black belt.

I take offense to that. My school offers belt in 2 years. Its the belts afterwards that slow down dramatically. A black belt also has different standards in different schools, in our class a black belt isn't high enough to even teach one class.
