I'm with Rova and Wisp on this. At 5'9" and 145 lbs., you're freakin' petite. Hell, I could lift you with one hand. I'm a rather large individual myself. Though, I'm a guy. I have it lucky. We're not in as much of a position to be thin as the fairer sex. If a skinny guys tries to joke about my weight I point out the fact that I can plow through him like a fucking truck and he promptly shuts up.

Also, as far as I'm concerned, real women have curves ;)

5'9 and 130 is a fucking twig. Twigs aren't sexy. Or extremely healthy, for that matter.

145 is perfect. Keeps you thin but with some meat on your bones.

I'm starting to get on the chubby side at 5'4" and 150 lbs, but I suppose that's my own fault. I need to exercise more. *shrug*

Maybe it's just me, but I can't fucking stand it when people who're already skinny complain that they're 'fat'. It's really just a slap in the face for anyone who's heavier than you. If you're 'fat', then what're they? Fucking elephants? Jesus.

AMEN TO THAT SISTA! I HATE i mean HATE it when skinny people complain about being fat. I am overweight myself >.> as in I have quite a bit of "FLAB" on my stomach..my legs are pretty muscular but my stomach could use a few crunches..and yeah I am a size 12 >.> and when size 1-5 complain about being fat I just want to back hand them over the face..unless they have some stomach flab..and I dont mean you GRABBING at your stomach and attempting to pull something up..I mean REAL flab you shouldn't complain about being fat

Gotta agree with Rova, Jaina, and the rest. I consider myself to be a pretty even figured woman and I'm actually pretty close to the "perfect" bust-waist-hips ratio (not to brag, just making a point). I'm 5'8" and 150 lbs. Ten pounds heavier than you. I look at that and go "wtf?! I thought I was actually looking good!"

And it's not just getting up and going to the gym. My sister swims for an hour every morning, walks around town on the weekends, is going back to kick boxing and she is FAR from petite. She's not fat but she's not a skinny little thing either. It's her bone structure. Not to mention the amount of muscle she has on her. She's also extremely close to the "perfect" figure. So what should I tell her? Start sustaining herself on carrots and work out more? I don't think so.

And pictures from Kumoricon

I'm second from the left and my sister's the one with the red wig. Yay for baggy costumes! Characters from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Now do the Hare Hare Yukai dance.

Why do Americans never post their weights in stones? So much easier. I can't divide by 14 well in my head.

 I'm a size twelve...than again womens sizes are so f-ed up! UGH! Some places I'm a six, others I'm an eight and even yet at some I'm a 12. It's stupid. Why don't they regulate womens clothes more like mens? Men have it so easy! Its like "Oh yeah I'm a 32, 36" or whatever where as girls have to ask what store you're talking about before they can answer (at least in my case it is)

It also depends on the pant style (low rise, regular fit, mom-fit etc.) uggggghhhh sorry ranting. I hate womens sizing charts. They're all different.

EDIT:

Funny because I feel the same way. Most of my friends are smaller than me, perhaps that is why I view myself as "larger" even though yes, there are larger people than me (duh.) My best friend Lisa is GORGEOUS....literally smoking hot. Has straight, beautiful red hair thats long, nice chest (a little small) tall (5'10"?) and weighs in at like 120, 130? I've got no clue but I Think she's a two? Maybe 3? And she complains about being fat. Yeah I've actually smacked her for saying it before >.> (although she's rather immature and stupid at times but still hilarious and a great friend... *sigh* I'm jealous)

On the other hand I've got a friend Ari who's like 5'4" D cup at least and has a nice butt. She calls herself fat but she has a fairly flat stomach. Her curves are kickin and she's got lovely brown hair and she thinks she's fat too (although her hips are bigger than mine so idk what size she wears but I know its a little bigger than myself) she's.....wow she's really, really pretty. (on top of that she's smart, super talented and funny *sigh* I'm jealous)

Yeah i know your gonna say, "its society that does it to us! They don't have a realistic view on women!"
Well if you know this, why do you still follow society's model like a dog on a leash? Its like the media is your bible or something.

And anyway, like green goblin said before, curvy women are a lot more attractive anyway. No one wants a twig that is wasting away.

Well, I don't bother to follow it at all, but the most logical answer to that is: "A lot of men don't want girls who are outside the 'normal' standard of beauty."

Which is a generalization that people here obviously aren't following, but it's still unfortunately something I've noticed out there in the real world. At least with younger guys. Lots of otherwise pretty girls made fun of because they weren't skinny and all that. So it's not just media, it's probably getting looked down upon / getting laughed at by the opposite sex.

But again, I'm not the sort to care about any of that. Just saying.

It's not just the opposite sex, either. Girls can create more self esteem issues in other girls than men can, a lot of the time. I actually made a thread about the beauty industry and these types of things in contro a few days ago and only one person has actually posted in it... that might be a better place to discuss this than in the picture thread.

No actually I don't really blame the media for my own insecurities, I blame my friends, brothers and myself. When I was growing up I was told nothing but that I was ugly, fat, stupid etc by my older brother(s). Some of my friends always talk about weight, shape and work out routines. I enjoy working out and when I do I look better IMO and feel better about myself, so perhaps I said that earlier because I really haven't been working out.

XD I've got curves. Not as good as Ari's IMO though. She's more curvy than me.

Girls can create more self esteem issues in other girls than men can, a lot of the time.

Yeah I agree with this. If you get a bunch of girls together and they all start talking they'll probably start talking about weight at some point in time and the majority will state they're "over-weight" or that they need to eat better, loose some pounds, work out etc.

I hate girls because of that. I hate myself because of it XD but I live with it.

Funny Ribbon fact:

I've got low self-esteem but I'm one of the most confident girls around O.o for the most part....I think I'm a walking oxymoron (or perhaps just moron haha)

Okay I've collected photos:

This is Ari most talented and a very beautiful girl.

Ari and Lee we were on a camping trip. You can kind of see how skinny and the body differences between the two. Still both very, very pretty.

MY BEAUTIFUL LISA! look at that smile?

>.> Lee is such a hooty momma, she's got pics like this all over her myspace...hardly dressed at all ugh. But look at how frickin skinny she is and she claims fat *smacks Lisa*

BFF's! look how skinny Lee's arms compared to mine >.< This was taken at a big picnic held at my house. yaya for friends and frizzy hair! XD

I have way to many fun memories with these two girlies. <3

Anyhow I think its cute SS

If you have straight hair, some (if not most) want curly hair.

I would be perfectly fine with my wavy hair if it weren't so poofy. If I don't try to straighten it I have a serious afro going on. Especially now that I have shorter hair. It's irritating.

I like how my wavy hair generally looks, but I wish it wasn't so hard to manage. x.x It tangles so easily. But that's probably because of the wave + really long length. And it's frizzy to ungodly proportions. I need to start buying, er... product again to keep it down. That anti-frizz Frieda stuff or whatever. That tended to work moderately well.
