I can say I don't believe anyone when they say the dog made them do it regardless of what "professionals" say.

Of course his dog didn't fucking make him do it. The issue is whether he genuinely believed it did.

"Mental," or not I really do not care, I just think it is a slightly corupt way of not getting put to death.

Then you know fuck all about genuine mental instability. The REAL stuff. Go visit a mental institution.

I know. I'm saying I don't believe he really does believe it.

That's nice, but thankfully your opinion means squat, since you've never met the man and you're not involved in the legal proceedings.

My opinion would change if I visited a Mental institution, but I haven't so I can not factor that in to my opinion.

It doesn't matter anyway since he plead guilty and has been involved in some good things since then.

Why are you reluctant to believe that he may have been completely crazy, if it's been scientifically proved that it's possible?

I don't believe it was ever really looked into since he plead guilty. But even then, those doctors like to believe anything the patient tells them. If he says he really believes it they will say he does. And to me it sounds as cheap as "The dog ate my homework." And really, it is like he said "The dog ate my homework."

This brings up an interesting question.

What defines a mental Illness? Are they real? Are they made up?

New topic Time.

On this one though. What gives the government the right to kill people? Just something that I wonder about. What gives the American government the right to decide who lives and who dies?

The governemnt doesn't. A jury does. All the government does is allow the option.

I don't trust psychiatrists, but they're not utter fucking idiots as you seem to believe.

And the jury doesn't decide the punishment, all they do is decide who's guilty or not. It's they're job. They're MADE to do it. You can't say juries kill people. You can't even really say the executioner kills someone. By that logic, Hitler never killed anyone.

Goose might be talking about it from a military stand point. I really do not know what gives the government promission to choose whom we kill. They tend to go off of the idea of "Threat to the nation," and if you/race/culture is a threat to them. They deem it right to kill you. I am in the military but I do not believe in this at all.

I don't think they're idiots. I just trust them less than you do.

I can't say I know how it works in the UK. Here the jury does decide on a sentence. The judge can disregard it if he sees reason to. Generally they don't. And there are some mandatory sentences for certain crimes.

What gives them the right to enforce any laws? Presumably, becasue people live in America - you live in this country, you agree to abide by its laws. Then the only alternative is to leave America. Which may not be feasible for some people; but then, life's unfair.

I'd leave america if i could.... not because I am unpatriotic or anything... I'd just rather live in a different type of society...
