You were suspended. For a few hours. Because you did something you were warned not to do. People learn from it. It's not as though you weren't trying to provoke seeing whether Toan would carry through with his claim- he's not a bad person, but he also isn't a liar when he makes a promise. Even Khuffie got hit by it, so it's not as though you were treated unfairly compared to everyone else. It's been a week and a half since it even happened...all is said, done, and past. Everyone learned from it, admins included.

You don't wanna be banned? Then don't do anything to provoke it, simple as pie. But not pi. Because that stuff's messy.

Maybe not, PA. I'm not sure, but I recall a post on the first page of this topic from Khuffie saying, "I can unsuspend myself. Toan, on the other hand..." Then Toan said, "I can too, Khuffie. "

But how would Toan know that if he was never suspended before? Perhaps Khuffie DID try to suspend Toan and it failed because of Toan's Admin powers?

Of course, this is just a theory.

Heh, but if he really wanted to, I'm sure Khuff could wipe everything and make himself the only admin... period. Or he could just pull the plug entirely.

Even if they de-admined him, Khuff still wins.

Pretty much as PA said. Khuffie rules supreme. Only reason that we can get unbanned is that even if we can't access LA, we can still access the Admin CP by typing in the direct URL of it. If Khuffie de-adminned us and we didn't even have that access, there's nothing we'd be able to do about it. We'd just be outright pwned.

Isn't it possible to suspend someone's Admin privileges the same way he can suspend logins?

He can just take admins out of that permission group and make them regular members. That's how you prevent an admin from using their powers.


Of course, you can't do that with Khuffie, as the forum owner is special. He's invincible.

Not unless you tried hacking into his account, at least. But hacking into his account could effectively destroy the whole forum (since all of its data is on his comp), so to attempt that you'd either have to be very brave, very confident in your hacking skills or very stupid.

Umm . . . without Khuffie there would be no LA, so any power he shares is a bonus to those who receive it. In other words, Khuffie technically owns LA and all of our accounts so he can do whatever he damn well pleases with them.

See I like it, Khuff runs LA like I would run a country... he maintains ultimate supremacy, then gives the role of leading and governing to others so he can sit back and relax. And when/if those people get restless, he smacks them back down, puts new people in their place, and sits back and relaxes some more.
