"Hey Wanderer, tell me when you're done patching up XI . Once you finish, we can all set out before another snake appears."
"God, didn't even think of that! No more snakes, please... I- I think with some crutches I'll be able to move. Can we just get out of here?"
Wanderer looked over XI again as he heard the other two speaking.
"Yeah," he said, "I saw you guys fighting that snake, and I can't say I'd want to face one of those. Unfortunate, I don't see anything that could be a good pair of crutches."
Wanderer reached over XI and pulled him up, hanging one the other's arms over his neck.
"Lean on me." Wanderer instructed, before turning to Jorden, "Until we find something suitable enough to be crutches, we'll have to carry him."
Wanderer readjusted XI a little bit before looking over at Jordan again.
"If I may ask, what is your name?"

Jordan's brain froze for a moment before giving an answer. It's not that he was suspicious of Wanderer or surprised by the question, he stopped because he forgot to have the common courtesy to give his name. "Jordan," he said quietly as he continued his widdling of the snake's fang. "My name is Jordan. My apologizes for not introducing myself earlier." He stopped his work and put his things in a large pouch, sealing the bag with a draw string. After confirming it's containment with a quick glance, Jordan took out his spear and walked toward. XI and Wanderer.
"This might come as a shock to you, but you're going to be flying very shortly. Hold on the XI please." Jordan thrust his spear into the ground, causing steam to once again send him and the others flying in the air. 10 feet. . . 20 feet. . . 30 feet . . . They escalated into the air in a matter of seconds, soaring over the earth for a brief period of time. The distance they were traveling was unknown, but just as Jordan predicted from the salty air and from the information given to him from Wanderer, a port city just appeared into view. The descent came quickly as usual, sending the three falling faster and faster towards the ground. Jordan thrust his spear upward, forming a gust of wind to propel them upwards, slowing the fall drastically and causing them to move closer to the city. Jordan manipulated the wind once more to slow their fall down even more. They landed on their feet at the entrance to the port city. The ground was a combination of gravel, dirt and stone, good earth to make a landing on.
"Sorry about the surprise there, but we needed to get out of their." Right after Jordan finished his sentence, his face became covered in cuts. Tiny wounds opened up simultaneously all over his body, causing pain to instantly over take him. His face changed from calm to agonized in less than a second. "Get XI to a inn, someplace where he can rest. I'm in no shape to move right now, I'll catch up a little later."

Wanderer turned to Jordan one more time before heading off.
"I'll be back as soon as I can."

He turned around only to find the person in the grey cloth appear before him. "You again," Jordan said to the stranger before him. "Don't you have anything better to do than to stalk me?" Although he looked passive, his heart was overcome with fear. There was something about this person that scared him beyond all reason.
The stranger smiled at Jordan and pointed at his boot, the place where he kept the piece of paper that he found in Plentrich. Jordan looked down to read the message again, fighting the pain that was all over his body. When he finally grabbed the paper, the mysterous person was gone. Jordan was confused for a moment why the person had once again reappeared before him, but his wounds distracted him from his thoughts. He looked at the paper once more:
"Demons run rampant,
Heroes take up arms."
"Blood of Pharos."
He placed the paper back in his boot and collapsed on the ground. "How does someone know about something like this? How do they know about Pharos?" Jordan's mind began to fade, his vision became black and everything went quiet.

The kid kept himself awake by glancing around the room. It wasn't the height of living, but it wasn't too shabby. The walls were bare but devoid of cracks. The floor and ceiling were wood, coated with ring patterns. Probably the most invited part of the room was its bed. The white sheets were surprisingly comftorable, unlike the stiff plate-like covers inns tend to have. The people in the room over certainly seemed to be enjoying their bed, with all the squeaks and gasps for breath.
Two sounds were the only things XI could hear: the soft ocean moving over the grassy beach and the couple moving more vigorously. The ocean was a familiar noise; XI had lived most of his life in the sea, after all. The moans weren't too distracting and helped to keep XI awake. A lot was in XI's mind now. For one thing, Jordan had announced that he was going to do that flying trick. He hadn't done that before. The second time was pretty fun, now that XI actually knew he wasn't going to be smashed against the ground and splattered into a bloody mess. XI still probably overreacted that first time, though. He still felt dreadfully embarrased about that... and for that Ikana Canyon remark before.
That was completely immature... XI told himself in his mind, You've got to apolgize to Jordan later.
Jordan didn't seem to be in the best condition either. XI had noticed in horror those cuts after the second flight. He didn't say anything; there was nothing to say. Pity for Jordan and guilt ran through XI's heart as he limped along with Wanderer. More guilt came in as XI had realized how rude he was being to this Wanderer. An awkward thanks for the help had escaped XI's throat as the two headed for the nearest place to stay. What happened after then wasn't too clear to XI; the numbness and tiredness were likely why. All he could remember was finally reaching an inn and taking up a room. Wanderer was gone now, probably to go pick up the fallen Jordan.
Jeez... If I hadn't been so dumb with that snake and hurt myself, Jordan wouldn't have had to do the flying thing and beat himself up so much. I'm such an idiot. XI thought, staring up at the wooden planks above. This place was so familiar; it reminded XI of his room in the Forsaken Fortress.
Also familiar was Wanderer. Something about him still seemed to remind XI of someone. XI knew whatever it was was going to bother him for a long time. Speaking of which, how long was Wandered going to stick around? XI owed him quite a bit and was going to have to repay him with more than a sleepy thank you. He was also going to have to make it up for Jordan for indirectly hurting him so much.
A sick feeling ran through XI's stomach. Feeling uncomftorable, XI finally gave in and shut his eyes. As predicted, conciousness slipped away. An uneasy sleep awaited him...

"He's bleeding everywhere..." the young man spoke as he wrapped bandage after bandage. He would not have enough to fix up Jordon right on the spot. So, Wanderer went with the same path he did XI and carried Jordan back to town. He went back to thr room XI was in, putting Jordan in a another bed. He managed to ask the innkeeper to fetch for a doctor who could treat their wounds properly.
Giving a thanks to the innkeeper, Wanderer took up the last bed, only stopping to take off his weapons. Going through the first aid and carrying he other two tuckered him out.

It was so great to be home. If one could consider a massive sea fortress filled with murderous drunks a home. The ship arrived at the docks and everyone onboard began to unload. The morning had certainly been an eventful one: a winged man had flown onto the ship and then a quick battle with an Alliance ship took place at the cost of several buccaneers. In XI's morning, he had also gained a new partner: Sonic, a talking, blue hedgehog. It was certainly a strange way to wake up.
As the crew unloaded the ship, XI quickly got off without offering any help. Instead of cargo he carried a small chest in his arms, and this Sonic character on his shoulder. Trying his best not to best spotted, XI passed an unfamiliar face: he looked to be about seventeen and had, oddly, snow white hair. The Forsaken Fortress definetly hosted some strange folks, but this white-haired guy looked different. He didn't have a beer belly, for one thing. Concerned about how much thought he was putting into this guy, XI charged on into the fortress hallways.
"You think anyone saw us?" XI asked to his companion, leaping over a pair of men who looked to have hangovers.
"How should I know?" Sonic snapped, "I just know that if it were me carrying you nobody would have had a chance."
"Drink a growth potion and we'll take," XI muttered.
---
XI woke up to see a pair of red ees hovering over him.
"Ah, good, you're up," the eyes' owners said in a gravely voice.
"Agh!" XI screamed and rolled over. The roll a bit too far, and XI fell off his bed. His broken legs slammed against the hardwood floor and pain raced throughout XI's body. Wincing, he again rolled over onto his back. XI looked down to see his current condition: his hand and leges were wrapped up in tight bandages. XI still wore the clothes from yesterday; he must have slept in them.
"Don't do that!" the deep voice snapped. Now it was clear who was speaking: an old, muscular man who looked as if he could snap you in half by a gentle hug. His eyes were as red as fire and it looked as if he were tired. The man wore a white suit with several pockets; a few small stains of blood coated it.
"Are... you a doctor?" XI asked.
"Yes," the man, "the innkeeper here went and got me last night. You and your friend are in pretty bad shape. And the other one two, but he already has his arm in a sling."
"Wanderer?" XI moaned without any purpose. Again, a sense of familiarity overcame him. What was it that he was dreaming about...?
The doctor began to speak again, "In any case, you should be resting. Bone healing takes a long time after all. If you need to move, some crutches are over there." He pointed out some wooden crutches in the corner of the room.
"I wanna take a shower," XI stated blandly.

Wanderer made his way down, maneuvering through the streets towards the sea, finding a good spot to sit. He saw a spot where there were no ships, and sat down on a crate of cargo, looking out at the sea for a good long time. After a long while of staring out at the horizon, he opened his lips.
"Somewhere out there, someday, I will find myself."
A tear formed in his eye, running slowly down his face.
"But where will that be? When will that be?"
Other tears slowly joined the first as Wanderer pushed himself off the box. He got on his knees and peered over the planks of the dock into the water, looking at his reflection.
"Who are you?"

Jordan walked down the old streets, past the old wooden buildings and headed towards the docks. He wandered around for what felt like hours, taking in the sights around him. Before he knew it, he found himself at the docks with a chorus of seaguls sounding off in the distance. Jordan stood for a moment and looked at the ocean. He noticed a figure on a nearby pier looking down at the water. It was Wanderer. Jordan decided to walk over, just to thank him properly. As the boards underneath his feet creaked, Jordan approched Wanderer.
"I never got the chance to thank you the first time," Jordan said to Wanderer. "I always forget my manners." Jordan looked over to the ocean once again. "You're looking for something, aren't you? From what I've gathered, you're moving along from place to place trying to find it." Jordan went into his pouch and grabbed the snake's large fang that he was widdling earlier. He cracked open the bone and took out a greenish marrow from the center. Because of all the carving he did, the fang became brittle and easier to break. He severed the marrow into two halves and gave Wanderer a piece. "Take it. It's not much, but I've read that this marrow can excellerate healing by 10 fold. You have to actually eat it though. I'm gonna give some to XI later." He threw the marrowless bone into the sea, keeping the sharp end and placing it back into his pouch. "The rest of this fang is gonna be a present to XI. After all, he needs a new dagger." Jordan looked back and smiled at Wanderer. "Let's head back to the inn, XI is probably waiting for us."

"Okay..." XI said to himself, "This will not be hard. Not at all. I just need to cross this hallway and go down the staircase. Without legs. And with wobbly wooden crutches. Not hard at all."
XI glanced over the crutches, also leaning up against the wall.
"Crutches!? Really!? I can't move with any friggin crutches! I need at least one good leg for that! What I need is a wheelchair! Freakin fake doctor with his freakin fake education and freakin fake degree," XI groaned, still speaking outloud, "I should just go back to the room. I can't possibly be so hungry that I can't wait for someone to get back and help me."
A growling sound came from XI's stomach.
"Or not," XI sighed, "Okay. Just go!"
So XI slowly walked across the impossibly lengthy hallway, leaning against the dirty, moss-coated wall. Moving his legs even so patiently hurt like hell, but the tough plaster covering XI's feet helped to relieve impact with the floor. Slowly but surely, XI progressed across the corridor. That is, until he tripped over nothing and fell face-foward. With a loud clunk and surprised outburst, XI's broken body ended up sprawled along the floorboards.
"Nice job, spaz!" a nasally voice laughed. It belonged to a rather ugly boy who looked to be a few years younger than XI. Grease seemingly dripped from his hair to the rest of his body and the ground. He continued, "You're so coordinated, retard! Har har!"
"What?" XI snapped from the floor, "Who are you? Urgh... Could you stop making fun of me for a second and help me up?"
"As if, whatever, get the picture, duh!" the bothersome runt prattled on.
"...okay than. You asked for this then," XI muttered. His hand wrapped around the top end of the crutch and swiftly brought the bottom end up to clash right intbetween the pest's legs. Shock swept over the nasty little kid's face as the pain shot up in his crotch XI swung the crutch to the left to bring him to groundlevel too.
Sweat mingled with grease in the rat's temples as he laid there in pain. After a minute he finally managed to get on two feet again. Hunched over and running a mile a minute, the brat shouted back, "Just wait til I tell my dad on you! He'll kick your ass!"
"Maybe he shout hit his own son for being such a prick!" XI yelled in response. The whining kid dissappeared down the stairs, which were still a long way's away. XI rolled his eyes and unsuccessfully tried to get up once more.
"Lord. Does anyone in this place have a magic healing potion or something!?" XI screamed out.

"...are y'all going to just sit there and watch as the crippled kid lies here?" XI bellowed out, "Jeez, people these days."
A stubbled-chinned young man approached XI, only to be barked at with the kid's comments that he could easily get up by himself and didn't need any help. Yet after a few minutes of changing positions and attempts to crawl up the wall, XI remained sprawled across the floor.
"Okay..." XI mumbled to himself, "It would be a great time to pop up, Jordan."

The sun beat down hard on Shadow as he walked. He had been smart enough to leave his cape, undershirt and hat back at home, but wearing his black tunic was a necessity since it held all of his weapons and utilities. The result of this; he was very hot. He wiped some sweat off his brow and voiced his complaints out loud. "Stupid Vanadiel jarheads! Why do you have to have an outpost in this oven of a place!?"
He got his mission a day ago; rumours were heard about a militaristic outpost being set up near Alsvard, and Shadow was sent to investigate. The problem was that there was no exact location, so he had to search all over the place. The heat really didn't help.
His tongue rolled out of his mouth as he walked; all this heat was making him thirsty. He then saw what appeared to be a pub. "Please don't let that be a mirage..." he muttered, walking towards it. He entered the pub, looking around to make sure that it wasn't just a house that he was trespassing in. One person in particular caught his eye; Wanderer. "That's one of the pirates I saw in the Dorm War! What was his name... Ken Miyamasa! I wonder what he's doing here..." he thought. "Ugh... after a drink..." he muttered, wondering what Wanderer was doing. He saw a kid on the floor and someone feeding something to him. He ordered a simple glass of water from the bartender and drank it quickly, then walked over to the scene. "What happened?" he asked, referring to XI being on the floor. Then a thought hit him, a blatant look of recognition now on his face which he quickly forced away. "XI!!! The kid who beat me in the Dorm War! He's seen better days..." He knelt down to XI to inspect his wounds, seeing a pair of casts on his legs. Something must've happened to him after the war that he didn't see. He wondered what exactly happened to him.

"XI!!!" a voice shouted out in a very purple-like way.
"Eh?" XI looked up, annoyed. A figure hovered over the group without even announcing his presence properly. How rude. Some people needed to learn manners and how to act around others. "Who in the hell are you, ass?" XI snarled.

"Huh. No wonder your legs got broke with that kind of a mouth. And you've forgotten me already and the Dorm War was only a week or two ago!" Shadow laughed. "Though considering your legs are busted and you're probably in a lot of pain, I can't expect you to think back. Nevermind." He turned to the others; he doubted that Ken would help him, so he had to ask the stranger. "So, what happened to the kid? He get caught in a raid or something?" he asked; he was almost hoping that it was Vanadiel that had attacked XI, then maybe he'd get a hint as to where their alleged camp was.
(Just note that Shadow has arrived on the scene now and has no idea what's going on.)

Jordan turned over to the man in dark clothing. "We were attacked by a giant snake. He was almost crushed to death." Jordan helped XI into a chair, so that Wanderer wouldn't have to prop him up. "The thing I shoved in your mouth should begin to take effect soon, so you'll be healing up faster than before. You should be able to walk in a few days," Jordan said to XI. "Who knows, maybe less." Jordan turned over to Wanderer. "Your arm should heal up pretty good too." The postitive vibe Jordan had kept him smiling, knowing that the injuries of his fellow compainions would be completely healed in a short amount of time. "So, any of you know who this guy is?"

Shadow blinked for a moment, taking a moment to realize that the stranger was referring to him. "Oops! I guess I should introduce myself... call me Shadow." he said. He folded his arms across his chest. "A giant snake, huh? Didn't think there were any monsters like THAT still around these parts..." he commented, then ímmediately thought, "Especially since there weren't any monster sightings on the mission threat assessment."
"I just thought it might've been Vanadiel soldiers or something. Rumor has it one of their camps are around here; I was gonna storm it for fun." Shadow lied, trying to make conversation. It was his mission to spy on or take out the camp, not just go on a joyride in it. But as an undercover agent for Uradiel, no one was supposed to know that except for him. "Sorry if I was rude before, just wonderin' if the kid was alright."

"Ok, I might as well tell you guys where I plan to go after you guys heal up. I'm heading towards Sornaiid, to a location of the utmost secrecy. We need a boat to take us there, but chances are that we will have to make a stop on the way there. XI, since you are a member of the Forsaken Fortress, we can go and rest there without worrying too much about pirates."
Jordan turned to Wanderer.
"If you want to continue traveling with us Wanderer, you're more than welcome to do so. I'd like to see what it is exactly you're looking for."
Jordan got up from his seat and headed to his room.
"We should all head out of here though. We only paid for a night and I don't have enough money for another stay at this place."
As Jordan continued to walk, he noticed that Shadow had been watching Wanderer and XI the entire time. For the corner of his eye, he could see him looking at them, with something on his mind. He quickly dismissed the thought and continued back to the room he and XI where staying at. Once he arrived in the room, he went over to his belongings, which where piled on top of each other, and grabbed his armor. After re-equipping his armor, he gathered his spear and the long parcel he was carrying. He sat on a bed and took out the fang from the giant snake.
"Hmm, just a few minutes on this thing and It'll be ready."
With that said, he continued to whittle the fang down, creating a sharp blade with a engraved handle that would serve as XI's new dagger.

After letting out a sigh, Shadow walked up the stairs and onto a balcony on the second floor, leaning on the edge and feeling a warm wind blow on him.
"It's a shame... I was hoping they'd know something about Vanadiel's camp out here, but I guess not... they're focused on their own things..." he thought, a bit depressed. "And here I am tied up with this stupid war... I envy those guys a little bit, because since they don't know, they don't have to worry..." His thoughts were silent for a moment. "Well, as long as I'm here..."
He reached into his tunic and pulled out a pair of binoculars, then used them to peer into the horizon and the town below. He couldn't see anything of interest; the odd person walking around and some grass blowing away, but nothing else. Not a Vanadiel soldier in sight.
Shadow let out a disappointed groan. "I'm really starting to think that I got a false lead on this Vanadiel camp..." he thought aloud.

Just after placing the finished weapon back into his pouch, there was a knock at the door. Jordan rose from the bed and answered the door. A older and slighly pudgy gentleman was on the other side.
"You people staying another night or are you heading out?" He asked Jordan.
"No, we were just about to head out sir," Jordan responded. "Thank you for the room on such short notice."
"Not a problem, I always get random visits by random people, there is no need for thanks."
The man left while Jordan gathered his belongings.
"I guess it's time to move out."

"No, we were just about to head out sir."
Shadow couldn't help but overhear, and looked back to see Jordan heading down to the first floor. He began to think. "Hmm... with the lead a bust, I've definately got some time to kill. Maybe I'll tag along... it's on the way back, so that's a plus." Shadow walked inside and ended up beside Jordan. "Couldn't help but overhear, but you said you were crossing the sea before. Mind if I join you? It happens to be on the way to where I'm going..." he asked Jordan.

"I swear, this morning is taking us days- even weeks- to get through," XI complained as he made his way to a bed to sit on. With a glance, Xi spotted the milky white weapon in Jordan's hands.
That looks pretty cool.... XI muttered in his head, I still need to get a new weapon. Hopefully I have enough money to buy one from an armory somewhere.
Shifting his head, XI's eyes found Shadow in the room. The kid nearly fell off the bed in surprise. How did he get through here without even noticing Shadow's presence?
"Um..." XI said, "...hello again. So, I miss anything?"
