[SOAP]

Lately I've been thinking that they should really make a new Zelda cartoon, possibly an anime and maybe a storyline that hasn't been used in game before with vague allusions to various Zelda games. Though it'd be totally awesome if they did a series based off the FSA manga or TWW.

FSA, definately. It's got a lot more hilarity going for it, plus no lone wolf concept like the other LoZ games do.

I would like to see a new LoZ animated series. A friend of mine gave me the original cartoons on DVD for my birthday (in early Feb.) and the memories just rushed back. I would like to see the series based off of A Link to the Past if possible. Why? Well, I'm a little old-school and even though I loved the first two LoZ titles, the original cartoons were based off those titles. So, I figure A Link to the Past & Link's Awakening should be next.

That'd be awesome. TP seems to be a good mix of all the Zelda games actually. It's like nearly the entire series rolled up in one neat little package and the characters are pretty cool, especially Midna.

I'm rooting more towards the FS series though. That seems to be a good candiate for all audiences and plus the art style is just screaming to be made into a full-fledge cartoon.

I think the series would lend itself well to an anime series - like either a 13 or 26 episode series.

I might be an old fogey but I'd love to see a Link to the Past like that. Or Twilight Princess. Or Majora.

Y'know what, any Zelda as an anime would be pretty neat.

I would like to see a Zelda anime that's a continuation of OoT Link's adventure. Or Wind Waker Link's. Not a retelling of any of the games though, the manga are good enough for that. An anime version of Wind Waker's animation style could look really good!

Back on topic here. I don't think it should it should come back. They probably canceled it for a good reason like... nobody watching it! Though I do think it would be worth a shot to bring it back.

Man, I have every episode of that show. So entertaining in its own freaky way.
But, yeah, a Zelda cartoon sounds cool, but it would suck in the end. Game-related cartoons never really make it off the ground - ESPECIALLY the new ones! Kirby, F-Zero, Megaman, Sonic (that new anime; the old Sonic ones were awesome, excluding Underground)... it usually doesn't work. The old ones were classic and kickass, of course, but I would be afraid to see how much worse they'd butcher up LOZ in a new cartoon.

While it's true that Kirby and F-Zero were only really successes in Japan, you're kind of forgetting a big one. Pokemon.

Also, the old Sonic cartoons sucked. o.o I think the new anime is rather decent, actually, considering it's target audience.

The Mario Bros. cartoons... Now those were GOOD. No ifs or buts, they were brilliant.

Sometime last year (or maybe even the year before that) I had the coolest dream ever - I dreamt that I was watching a TWW cartoon that had an opening that was similar to the old 80's cartoon's opening, except that it started with King Daphnes uniting the ToW scene from TWW, then he launches into the 'this is the ToW, the evil wizard Ganon has the ToP' speech. The premise of the cartoon was a sort of alternate take on the second half of TWW, with Link and Tetra (and the pirates) sailing around looking for the 8 shards of the ToC, while Ganon's minions also searched for them

However, you forget that Yu-Gi-Oh is a rip-off of the concept that Pokemon started. As far as I know, Pokemon came first, before both of those animes, at least in the West.

Besides, there are plenty of other childish, long-running animes that aren't based on collecting and battling, namely Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. Pokemon, while it paved the way for many, many more animes of a similar ilk, was still a proper video game anime in itself (and like F-Zero, Kirby and Sonic, it directly affected the series).

That's the problem with a Zelda anime. If they ever made one...
IT WOULD AFFECT THE SERIES. Animes can completely rewrite the canon.

Also, does it really need to be an anime? Animes are okay and Zelda IS a Japanese game after all, but I'm kinda getting tired of everything being anime and now even American cartoons are starting to look like cheap knock-offs of anime instead of being fresh and original. Which what American cartoons used to be before this whole anime craze. Now you got stuff like Totally Spies and Teen Titans where everyone has big eyes and expressions. It doesn't neccessarily have to be like Fairly Odd Parents or anything but does it really have to be anime in order to have any worth?

I maen like if they went with OoT or TP, I'd like to see something kinad like Pirates of Dark Water. Not sure if that was an anime but the lead character was still pretty bishy and he didn't have to have big anime-ish in order to be considered such.
