Kerry never accused Bush of wanting to reinstating the draft. He critisized him for a "back door draft" with these stop loss policies.
If you are going to use stem cells from embryos that are going to be thrown away anyway where is the problem? I am not arguing about whether or not it is human. Human or not, fertility banks throw them out after so long. Also if someone were to say donate an embryo or two, who are any of us to tell them no?

Did he not say it'd be more likely for the draft to be reinstated under the Bush administration?

No, though many articles spun it that way.Did he not say it'd be more likely for the draft to be reinstated under the Bush administration?
Apparently he was responding to a draft question when he made the following statement: "If George Bush were to be re-elected, given the way he has gone about this war and given his avoidance of responsibility in North Korea and Iran and other places, is it possible? I can't tell you."
At last check, "I can't tell you" doesn't mean "yes", or even "it'd be more likely."

They are using the embroys that are to be thrown away. Bush gave the ok to use up what they had for that but what happens when that supply is gone? Do we go out and get pregnant just to have an abortion? This is the concern that Bush sees and this is the concern that has been brought up by others and this is the morality parts of that issue.

There will always be a supply of discarded embryos. They're not from abortions, those are terminated...

Except that stem cell research has nothing to do with abortions. Abortion is not included. Abortion is not required.

Again, I will say that Bush does not have a problem with the embryo that is destined to be thrown away. He supports the stem cell research period. All he has said is that he will not support it for moral issues if we are going to be producing the embryo to do this. No matter how it is produced. Maybe that is a better way of putting it.
Anyone that is saying that he does not support stem cell research is wrong and there is absolutely no proof and no where has he said he would not. Further more as I have said already in a previous post. We do not need to use embyos anyways. We can do the exact same thing using blood and other organs which have been proven. Another thing is that the media makes it sound like this research has a cure right around the corner. If you do some research that could not be further from the truth. These researchers are saying it is going to take years and years still to get this to where it is right.
Look at the new cure they have found for milaria from the mosquito that they just come out with. They are saying it will be at least until 2010 before it would possibly on the market. Even though that does not have anything to do with the topic. Just an example but same theory

But our point is that we don't need to "produce" anything.
No one here has said a cure could be around the corner. But cures are stil possible. And while yes, a lot of ground is being made using other tissues, to completely shut down this other avenue that could produce just that much more hope would be foolish.

Well now, here are a couple links for you to click on and read the full stories of what and how Bush and the senate feels about it and they are absolutely right. Also it clearly shows that Bush does support the research of it in other ways. Enjoy the reads.

Now this next link is what he is referring to by the last August before this one.
http://www.whitehous...20010809-2.html
He clearly states throughout he is against human cloning but not the research itself in other ways. Also keep in mind he is the first and only president thus far who has even funded this program and will continue too as long as they are not cloning humans, etc
