I think everything is erased, including Ganon and the opening of the door of time...
I mean, if Ganon still existed, he would have to do the same temples again, and again and again and again...
And Zelda would have been fleeing for...nothing...And all those men died, because of...nothing...
He puts back the sword and gets out, somehow, but i don't know how... Maybe he also flies out of a window... And then he is back in his home, has no fairy and nothing to prove he was a Hero...
But, if he visits Zelda again when he arrived after Ganon attacked the castle, Zelda couldn't be there...Because she fled for him...And i know he sealed him away, but when he gets there after Ganon gets the triforce, he couldn't have been sealed away...That would happen after Link defeats him, 7 years later...

Adult OoT: Erased or happens later?

It's not that Link would be in a loop. He just has to go back and put the Master Sword back down so that Ganon can't invade the Sacred Realm, and thus never becomes a problem.

I edited the initial post of this thread, but I mainly took some material away. I took away the paragraphs dealing with when the Hero of Time arrived in his childhood because my beliefs on that have changed. I also took away the assumptions about how many times Ganondorf attacked Hyrule Castle because I understand how some people may interpret the evidence to suggest that he attacked twice. I really didn't add anything. I just took away a lot.

My feelings on this have changed a few times over the years, but Twilight Princess has made me come to a new conclusion. I believe in a split timeline, as I have since I finished Ocarina of Time. I now believe though that Link returned to after he pulled the Master Sword out of the Pedestal. This removes the paradox of having two Links at the same time. I used to believe that Link returned to when he met Zelda for the first time, but that would lead to some problems.

I honestly don't see how anyone can look at the 6 problems of the "later" theory and the 1 problem of the "split/erased" theory and say that the adult events happen 7 years later. It just shows a disregard for facts if you ask me.
