Crazy random theory of the week: Vaati is Dark Link.

Nope, makes no sense whatsoever. But someone had to say it. ;)

This does actually make of sense, though. The Picori would be the ones who forged the Master Sword before OoT. Don't know about the Triforce though, mabye the "Golden Light" means something else?

That's not really Dark Link, just Vaati's human form that looks Dark Link-esque.

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, the boy on the right (the purple one in the hood) is Vaati.

To me, knowledge is it's own reward. Running around spreading it and acting like you're God's gift to fandom is too much for me.

So, the storyline posted in the old forums was completely wrong? :s

Well, that surely throws my theory in the trash can... but I still believe this is before OOT.

No, that was right. That was just the basic synopsis though. Zethar's translation expands on it.

OKay, other storyline elements. Appearantly, the Pikkoru world and the human world are linked once every 100 years through some door, which is conveniently going to be this year's Pikkoru festival. Another thing about PIkkoru is that only children can see them, thus it is Link who is sent to help Zelda, since none of the adults would be able to do anything. And I think the uncle bit may be a misprint, because in the in-game text you get a sword made by your grandpa... unless you have an uncle and a grandpa.... Anyway, what else was there. Oh yeah, there are also some scattered jewels again for some seal... you know, standard Zelda stuff. :P

hm...the Golden Light. I can find several explainations for this. Wisdom and Courage peices of the Triforce, like the quote implies, Or it could be Link's fate to be born again and again to save the world. or it could be something WAY cooler. I have a very complicated theory on this whole thing. First, let's backtrack. One theory can suggest that this is a backstory to FS, and that the art style is simply Zelda's new look. In that case, I have a theory about the Master Sword.

1. Given as gift of the gods to some kid who defeats the demon and seals him in a stupid chest. pwned
2. Vaati is a mage who got corrupted by his power and became a pawn of the Demon in the chest, and because of that, he uses his power to shatter the Master Sword. The Master Sword however, is supposed to be unstoppable, so we have a Twist of Fate. the Master Sword is now the Four Sword. Vaati is sealed and the FS series happens. then the Master Sword, after vanquishing Vaati, is reassembled and regains it's normal duties. when TWW comes around, it's power begins to dwindle because the Prophecy centering OOT has been completed.
3. After TWW, Hyrule drains or whatever, and Ganon's corpse is made into the pedestal in LTTP, and the sword is rejuvinated or something.

Of course, this could also be a sequel to Wind Waker, and in that case, I have an even better theory.

Let's look at Dark Link for a minute. Isn't it odd that he's Link's other half, but he can't pull off the Spin Dash move with the Master Sword? because he doesn't HAVE IT! Thusly, It could be possible that there could be a Dark Master Sword for Dark Link, and that Dark Link is merely a tool for Link to purify himself, like Ness's Nightmare was in Earthbound, if anyone has ever played it. this Dark Master Sword could of been taken from Dark Link by a Twist of Fate, like the Golden Light. The Golden Light could be some kind of force that converted the DMS to be used by the Light. so after a New Hyrule is found after TWW, the DMS/Piccori Blade/Four Sword is the Master Sword of LTTP. what do you think? this was gonna be like, 10 times bigger, but I messed up and my WHOLE POST was erased! ARGH!

I was looking at a few screens on the Minish Cap, particularly the backstory-stained glass screens showing "the hero of men" without a green cap--just blonde hair. He is without a cap in all of the stained glass backstory scenes. Flash foward to the time of the MC you do not start off with a cap or anything on your head...it's just blonde hair.

I read an article on gamespot about the Nintendo Gamer's Summit out in Seattle. It mentioned a Nintendo representative stating that we could look at the Minish Cap as a telling of how Link came across his trademark cap. Maybe he was just joking or being sarcastic...but maybe all the Links after The Minish Cap storyline began wearing their green caps in homage to the hero we play as in the Minish Cap. Perhaps they've gone back even deeper into the storyline with this game. Here's the link (no pun intended) to that article:

http://www.gamespot.com/gba/action/thelege...ew_6110170.html

Plus another article mentioned how Capcom wanted to make the landscape of Hyrule (including the castle) different from LTTP.

So, it would appear this is a prequel to the FS games and therefore the rest of the Zelda games.

The Ganon we see in the stained glass window is most likely the demon we hear about in HA.

I wonder just how far back they are going to go. It's kind of interesting that they've elected to make prequels rather than sequels. By sequels I mean a true sequel to whatever the latest game is in the time line.

wow, that just blew my new theory out of the water! haha, OOT! your no longer the First :P although, Minish Cap does have that certain feel that makes you think of it as the First, maybe OOT is just the first game with the Triforce, Chronically? that would solve of stuff

I don't really know, but I wouldn't try to be so determined to see this game as being the first in the timeline. Remember FSA? From the intial screenshots back in January and Feburary, everyone was convinced that it would be a prequel to FS, and the story would be the backstory of the Four Sword and Vaati. And before TWW came out, Miyamoto said it would be the very first in the timeline.

So things change. And they will change.

IGN has a preview with movies of the game they also revealed that the Minish Cap has a name. They also talk about the story a little bit stating that Link needs the Minish Cap to find the Minish people to lift a curse off of Princess Zelda.

*SPOILER* the cap's name is Ezlo */SPOILER*

'Tis possible. But the promotional pieces introduce Vaati as if he's a new character or it's his first time being a threat. Also there's not really much of a consensus that the original FS is not the oldest thus far. But...if it is...that could possibly put MC first...becuz this appears to be Vaati's 1st appearance. Also the MC backstory doesn't really match up with any other Zelda events...then again neither did the original FS backstory. Also it could very well come sometime after TWW, we see a good number of items from TWW in MC and also the promotional art is similar to TWW art (link's belt buckle with the swirly thing on it). Nonetheless, it is too premature to really tell...so let the speculations flow....
