Does anyone know much about the King of Hyrule (aka Zelda's Father). As far as I know, OoT is the only one where he is really referenced to much, and even then you really don't find anything out about him. Just curious.

One of the Kings of Hyrule played a focal role in The Wind Waker. Another one of them saw to the hiding of the Triforce of Courage in The Adventure of Link's backstory.

Hm...wonder which King is in TWW? Zelda I's father's son? Father's son's son?

I speculate that King Daphnes is either the father, son, or brother of OoT Zelda. I like the third one since it fits in with the King Daphnes/AoL Backstory connection which explains the "Legend of Zelda" reference he uses in TWW.

BTW, 007bond, have you even played the Wind Waker? Or better yet, have you ever played any Zelda games besides Ocarina of Time?

No, he has to be a descendant of OoT King. The great flood happens generations after OoT. It says that straight out in the opening of tWW.

Moved to Zelda storyline.

Many generations can take place in one person's lifetime. Daphnes looks kinda ancient. Unless generation in reference to the transending of ages or a span of 100 years or so, not the span of time from parent to child.

Even so, one must notice that he is magic...*SPOILER* He IS the boat after all. *END SPOILER*

Yeah, but anyway, He could be the brother of Zelda, although when he finds out that *SPOILER* Tetra is Zelda, he doesn't treat her like a sister. *END SPOILER*

You're forgetting something. When Hyrule was locked away, I believe that this King, who, IMO, is either Zelda I's brother or son, decided to stay locked away with it. He lived for a very long period of time. We KNOW it was more than a hundred years, by himself, except when his spirit inhabited the boat. I think that Tetra is NOT really old, which is what you're implying, and is very likely Kingy's granddaughter or great-granddaughter. SHE didn't know she was royalty.

On a side note, I think that it was *SPOILER* kind of bittersweet that the King dies in the end to save Link and Zelda, even though he didn't have to. The moral we see is "live for tomorrow," obviously, and by making Tetra Zelda and having Link as his little steward hero, we see that King is desperately trying to relive the past and drown his regrets. In the end, he admits this, for those of you who REALLY pay attention to character traits, and reveals subtley that he will choose to drown in Hyrule because those that live by the past, in turn, are respected to die with it. I love the whole good/bad aspects of King seen in the story, he soon became one of my fave characters, and that's just the report for those of you that saw him as just another supporting character, he is secretly one of, if not the deepest persona in the game.
